I've never read anything like this before and it would make such a fantastic cartoon. It's a short fantasy novel set before the Civil War. There are some typos but it didn't make the book any less enjoyable for me. I'm going to read more Milton J. Davis. I can't believe that I'm just now finding his books.

A founding father of Sword of Soul, Cyber, Diesel, and Steamfunk, it goes without saying that Milton Davis is an expert at imagining worlds that pique the senses. But not to be outdone are his round and diverse characters. Whether hailing from pre-colonial West African villages, the Caribbean countryside, or Sundown towns of the deep South, he creates the kind of protagonists that stay with you, make you think, and long for sequels, prequels, and spin-offs.

The Road to Nicodemus is a front to finish thrill ride and an expertly crafted novella placed at the cross section of Black Southern lore and the Old American West. Be prepared to indulge in a journey of super human characters through bold landscapes that will leave you reaching for reference books and inspired to see the magic folded inside history.

This book puts a totally different spin on the era of Bass Reeves and Harriet Tubman. Getting a new look at the world we thought we knew is refreshing.

In the story, Dorothy is called on to fill a unique role that only could be her destiny. As a shero it seems her adventures are going to be interesting.
