When Grace is gripped tightly from behind in her own home, fearing for her life as an intruder presses hard against her, the last thing she expects to hear is the voice of her husband in a cool, demanding tone, right in her ear, “I’m going to rip your clothes off and take you right now…”
Grace and Steve have been together since school. They’re each other’s first love, and they are blissfully happy. Or, at least, that’s what Grace thought.
But when Steve suddenly turns the dial up on their sex life, shifting from rare moments of intimacy to an erotic re-enactment of one of Grace’s most sexy fantasies, she is excited but even more confused. What’s the reason for Steve’s sudden erotic dominance? Is he masking his guilt? And is her perfect relationship on the verge of shattering? Or is he unleashing a deep fire within that is about to awaken their sexuality?.
This free book is more like a short chapter with a cliffhanger and the full ebook is 81 pages. I found the author's writing style, the basic premise of sex and a cheating husband boring and I don't feel any curiosity or the urge to read more.
So pointless, just confront him about his behavior. You trusted him up until the point your loveless friend got involved. It's amazing how one person can plant a seed of doubt into someone else's relationship.
What I liked: -Grace. I liked the main character. She was relatable, and I liked how her relationship with Steve was portrayed. Things can kind of fizzle out after a long time and people become unsatisfied with what they've been doing for so long. -Writing. The writing was pretty good, I thought. It flowed nicely and it looked well edited. -Sex. The sex scenes were pretty hot. It's always nice to read about things you might not necessarily be comfortable doing in real life, and it's a kind of escape fantasy.
What I disliked: -Hazel. I'm not a fan of people so pessimistic that they generalize an entire gender, and Hazel's outlook on love and men didn't sit well with me. I'm not sure it was explicitly stated, but I got a "all men are cheating pigs so why bother" kind of vibe from her.
Overall, this was a pretty good read. I don't think I'll continue with the series because I can't justify spending that much for such a short book, especially with how many free ones are available. 5.0
I was browsing the Kindle Store free books long ago when I found this. Desperate to catch up on my reading challenge, and to clear some books off my Kindle app to make room for my music, I decided to read this as it promised to be a short read.
At first, this seems very cringey, especially with the descriptions of the first sex scene - Grace remembering her and her boyfriend's first ever time. I'm sorry but... who the hell calls the clitoris a button? I was very tempted to DNF this book, but decided to carry on because I only had about 15 minutes left in the book.
Carrying on, I found that it was actually really good.
Blake's writing is well rounded. It comes across well, and it flows together almost seamlessly, other than when she seemed to have rushed through parts. A lot of the basic story elements - Grace and Hazel chatting - seemed very rushed to get to the sex scenes, which were then quite slow and spread out, and it was a little bit of a downer for me. A shame to see, truly.
It has a very good forced sex role play scene, and Blake seems to have done research on what to do in the situation. I would have liked to see a bit more on the consent side of things, no matter how horny and down to fuck Grace was, because it was a little bit err but other than that this was good.
I don't know why so many reviews have such a negative idea of Hazel though. She's looking out for her friend, mentioning something that has happened to her once or twice before, and trying to protect her. A well written character looking out for her best friend?
Rather annoying that this ends on such a cliff hanger though, and I feel like the book was a little bit rushed in general. However, I'm definitely intrigued to read more of the series, and will be looking out for more of this at a later date.
I thoughly enjoyed this book, kept me hooked from start to finish. The sex in this book is mind blowing. I would definately recommend it to my friends. There was nothing about this book i disliked. I really connected with the characters and felt i was in the room with them.
We have all been there, realizing that a long term relationship might be getting stale in the bedroom department. When suddenly her boyfriend surprised her by enacting one of her sexy fantasies but is all as it seems...
There is nothing wrong with having doubts but how you react to it is the important thing. Is Steve cheating or is he trying to give Grace what she needs? I like the suspense. Let's hope don't get ahead of herself and make any decision without proof.
Steamy short read but I’m intrigued enough to want to read the complete series. Angsty and the plot thickens. Tears before bedtime, suspicions. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Why do I even bother reading really, really short stories? I know better. It gives you just a taste, then you have to buy more to get the full story. Don’t waste your time on this one!
I have finished reading this story, or the story so far I should say. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series. The only reason I did not rate this a 5 stars is the plot line is somewhat predictable. Now I could be wrong and I guess I will find out in the end, but I think I am right. I will definitely alter my review if I am wrong.
Have you ever wanted some kinky sex but was a little scared to ask for it? Yeah a lot of people are that way, but if you were Grace, you wouldn't have to ask, it would just happen. Hopefully you have a strong heart because if I was grabbed from behind and I wasn't prepared? Yeah I would definitely need to go to the hospital!!!! This is a very enjoyable short read.
I liked how the book wasn't over the top with sex. As I was reading this I could actually believe this was a real story that couples go through and would try to spice up their love lives. I didn't feel embarrassed or feel that it was fiction though I know it is. It was the right mix of romance and sex. I gave it a five star rating as the writing was a smooth transition from the friendship to the real romance to the sexy scenes. It flowed and wasn't disjointed reading. The writer cares about the whole story and the characters and doesn't rush to get to the sex scenes. I would recommend this to my family and friends.
It's more like chapter one rather than book one Has writing returned to the 18th century in that readers receive drips and drabs of a story at one time, but without the finesse? I found it to be a mildly titillating story. I Was tempted to stop reading after a few pages but pressed on since it was such a short read. I may read the rest of the series to pass the time before I fall asleep at night.
Very few books in this genre are well written; the sooner they get to the whole point of the story the better I guess. I haven't read the series but based on this first offering then the 'main events' are better than average. The'preliminaries' are a bit corny and trite, but that's not what the reader is interested in. The characters can be shallow as long as everything else is a 'knockout'. .
It was such a good book nd a good ending mysterious ending to get the reader wanting more and will make the reader want to get the next book I would recommend this book to mature readers, I'm 13 but it is sort of inappropriate… just the way they explain how the sex feels and what all they did but I loved this book nd am looking forward to the next on :)
You can literally get away with reading the synopsis and have gotten everything the book has to offer. While I enjoyed the preview I'm glad I didn't buy the book. I would have been highly disappointed.
Easy and quick to read there is some semblance of a story line but I've read better in this genre when I was a teen! Again not convinced i'm that into these books as i'll be honest my own imagination is far better! Again the domineering doesn't make me hot under the collar!
I liked that it was a quick read. Also, gets right to the point. Main character, grace, is a tad annoying and thinks too much... But other than that, I'm curious to see how it ends. Overall good quick read.
A fun exciting read straight to the point without unnecessary writing. Unexpected. Turn of events left wanting more five star rating worth the read would recommend to all my female friends and selected male. Ones
Wicked. I enjoyed this short story and plan to finish the story. Grace represents a lot of women's stories. I'm curious if Grace will confront Steve about what was going on and why he thought he had to lie to her.
