I received this as an ARC with no expectations for a positive review. WOW! This is the first time that I have read three of the four authors in this anthology. It is fabulous. You will keep turning the pages wanting to know what happens. This book will certainly keep you up wanting to know what happens next. It is a must read for all romantic suspense readers.

All four novellas in this book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, but they flow wonderfully together with the theme of the title, Truth. In each story, there are either secrets that need to be brought to light or a devastating past that keeps the character from moving on and pursuing happiness in life. In Trapped by Jerusha Agen, Natasha Bowen has taken refuge in Leben’s Crossing, thinking that she will surely be safe there from her past. She is moving on with her traumatic life along with her adopted daughter Rosalia. But her dark secrets are about to catch up with her as one hit man after another is attempting to kill her. She knows who is after her but she can’t share her knowledge with law enforcement because of her fear of what will happen if she does. She can’t even be honest with Sean, her best friend in high school who is an investigator determined to protect her from the unknown assassins. The characters were relatable and the story is compelling. With the relevant topics of human trafficking and land grabs, this novella also includes the themes of redemption, forgiveness and hope. In the novella Mine by Sami A. Abrams, Jennie takes her young daughter Zoey and flees an abusive situation only to have a stalker turn up in her new hometown. With the help of police detectives David and Brandon, Jennie tries to elude danger, but danger stays right on her heels. This is intense suspense and the truth of Jennie’s past, the part she is keeping hidden, can end up killing her. This is a story of learning to trust, forgiving oneself and letting the past go. I loved the characters in this story and the intensely riveting suspense! In the third novella, Fatal Past by Sarah Hamaker, Dr. Eve Davenport is the main character and she had a rough childhood after her parents were killed in a car accident. Raised by her cruel aunt and uncle, she escaped from them as soon as she could but not without leaving an unknown piece of herself behind. This is a story of second chance love, family greed, betrayal and the ultimate sacrifice for love. This is a story that captivated me with its intriguing details and all of the plot twists. The final novella is Beneath the Crushing Waves by Kristen Hogrefe-Parnell and it tells the riveting story of newly widowed Jenni who has moved back to her hometown with her young daughter Lily in order to live with her parents and get her life back on track again. Teaching summer school at a local school has a lot of challenges, but Jenni is so involved with healing her own heart and getting over Justin’s death that she isn’t aware of all of the things going on around her. Meanwhile, two local men who used to be friends when she was younger are interested in her, but she doesn’t really want a relationship right now. The story is irresistibly written, with faith, suspense, a fast pace and compelling, lovable characters. I enjoyed getting to know Jenni and her family and I especially liked the faith foundation of hope after a devastating loss. All of these novellas offer edgy suspense with dynamic characters and a fast-paced plot. In addition, the theme of learning to trust again after terrible pasts or tragic circumstances, is one that resonated with my heart and soul and kept me reading long into the night.
I voluntarily received a complimentary advanced copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review, and all opinions expressed are my own.

Trapped - Jerusha Agen
The author handles a difficult topic well in this page-turning story about starting a new life and escaping a past life full of trauma. "Kristen Grant will do anything to protect her adopted teen daughter from the dangers of their past." She has changed more than her name as her childhood best friend Security specialist Sean Kingston discovers. He's always liked her, and never expected to see her in the small town of Leben Falls, where he spent his summers with his grandparents. Kristen has changed, he wants to help her, but she has secrets she's too ashamed to share. Fans of inspirational romantic suspense will surely enjoy this riveting story "Trapped".

Mine - Sami A. Abrams
Jennie Neilson regrets the bad decisions in her past, and she's haunted by an abusive past relationship. She has made a new life for herself and her daughter Zoey until her daughter mistakenly texts pictures to a wrong number which sets them on a collision course with the past. Very compelling page-turning story, dealing with healing from a difficult past relationship. Detective David Whitman, haunted by his fiancée’s death, won't allow himself to have any other relationships because he feels his is to blame for her death. He is drawn into this case as Jenni and Zoey face dangers and need his protection. It takes both of them time to heal. Another wonderful page-turning romantic suspense by Sami A Abrams!

Fatal Past - Sarah Hamaker
Dr. Eve Davenport graduated from high school early and put herself through medical school. She is a qualified pediatrician who foils a kidnap attempt of a sweet boy named Ethan Smith when she is out for a run. When she locates the boy's father Jefferson Smith, they are shocked to see each other again. Jefferson was her high school sweetheart who broke her heart senior year. I loved this story! There are more kidnapping attempts, death threats, danger every day, lies about the past that they had to unravel, genealogy twists, and more! I couldn't put it down. I look forward to more romantic suspense by Sarah Hamaker

Beneath the Crushing Waves - Kristen Hogrefe Parnell
Jenni Battley returns home to her parents house with her sweet young daughter Lilly after the death of her husband Justin. Jenni is still reeling from grief and the feeling that her future has just been ripped away. Every day, the goal is to survive, to teach summer school, and to take care of her daughter. She is feeling more bitterness than joy. Jenni has a dear friend Evie who tries to help her with her grief by pointing her to the lamentation Psalms, which are a great start to her healing process. Two men from her past, paramedic Logan Oswald and Officer Shane Prescott crash into her life at the scene of an accident. She reported the accident when she witnessed the school janitor was having a seizure while driving, as she was following him. "The scene resembled a bad high school yearbook reunion, and she would rather burn those pages than revisit them." This author is new to me and I definitely want to read more of her stories. The characters were well developed, the story was sweet and suspenseful, and I enjoyed every moment!

Fans of inspirational romantic suspense will thoroughly enjoy this collection of stories by Jerusha Agen, Sami A. Abrams, Sarah Hamaker, and Kristen Hogrefe Parnell

Thank you to the authors for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

Trapped, a story written by Jerusha Agen within the cover of Truth, was an amazing, all-in story of the heart. Natasha Bowen once made a choice that cost her the life she had always truly wanted, one she truly believed was no longer available to her because of the life she was forced to lead. In her escape from that life, she saved a young teen. However, as I read this book, my heart was torn, almost leaving it bruised and shredded while my emotions ranged from horror to hope. I absolutely loved how Agen took tragedy, suffering, pain, and unbelief before wrapping up the words with the broad strokes of a paintbrush creating a setting sun in completion of the story's end.

Within the same anthology of Truth, author Sami Abrams wrote a story with the title, Mine. Within the pages of this story, Detective David Whitman and his partner handled crimes against children in their town. A young mother, as well as an ER nurse, Jennie Nielson came home to this small-town. It became a safe haven abusive relationship followed the death of her husband. But, after an innocent mix-up of numbers by her daughter, mysterious things began to occur. Several incidents, that could be considered deadly, happen. As David, his partner, and Jennie begin weeding through the details, the incidents targeting Jennie and David escalate. Throughout this story, the details point to the fact that through it all, God is there and He is love. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed Truth and devoured this set of romantic stories.
Trapped by Jerusha Agen was intense as the author tackles the subject of trafficking. When danger finds Natasha, who is starting over with her adopted daughter, Sean, a former cop turned security specialist, comes to her aid. Natasha and Sean were once friends but have drifted apart in high school. Natasha isn't sure if God could forgive her because of the mistakes she made in the past. What a wonderful reminder that God forgives everyone, not the good people. Sean has to learn not to carry bitterness but to forgive when it came to family matters.
Mine by Sami A. Abrams is fast-paced with non-stop action. The attacks and danger escalate when Zoey finds herself in a perilous situation, causing someone from Jennie's past to catch up with her. This suspense story has twists and turns that will leave readers guessing who is behind the attacks. Both David and Jennie have baggage from their respective pasts they have to deal with.
Fatal Past by Sarah Hamaker involves former high school sweethearts, a child, multiple kidnappings, and danger. Eve had a rough, painful upbringing. Amidst the danger, Jefferson and Eve have to clear the air between them and unravel the web of lies that Eve's uncle had fed them. This suspense story has twists and turns and is about second chances and forgiveness.
Beneath the Crushing Waves by Kristen Hogrefe Parnell focuses on Jenni, a widower and single mom. She is grieving the loss of her husband and questions why God allowed her husband to pass. Can she move forward and let herself fall in love again? This fast-paced suspense story includes a student drug ring and danger with faith elements woven in.

Truth: A Christian Romantic Suspense Anthology is book 4 of the Long Hot Summer: Christian Romantic Suspense series. This book contains four very well written stories that are easy to read. Each of the stories grabbed my attention right away and held it to the very end. The stories are filled with action and suspense and tackle sensitive topics so realistic in our world today. I enjoyed reading each of these stories. They contain good strong characters that are diligent in helping others and seeking good.

In Trapped, we see how determined Kristen is to leave the life she was living. She takes a teen girl with her when she flees and does what she needs to do to keep both of them safe and from the man hunting for them.

In Mine, we see how hard Jennie works to move on after an abusive relationship. When her daughter mistakenly sends a text to a wrong number, their life takes on danger that leaves them fearing for their lives.

In Fatal Past, Eve, the local doctor foils a kidnapping attempt on the son of her high school boyfriend. While this story focuses on who is trying to kidnap the young boy and why, it also is a nice story of second chances.

Beneath the Crushing Waves is a great story of moving forward after a great loss. For Jennie, it is trying to make a life for her and her daughter after the death of her husband. The story shows of the great love and concern her father has for them as well as he tries to bring happiness back into their lives.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

Trapped by Jerusha Agen is a second chance, romantic suspense with a focus on human trafficking. It's filled with non-stop action and a 10/10 mystery that I really enjoyed reading. It was gripping from the first moment I picked it up.

Sami A. Abrams pens a fabulous, intricate mystery in Mine. Zoey was adorable, and I liked that forgiveness was a prominent theme throughout this story. I really enjoyed reading this novel, and I can not say enough wonderful things about it.

Fatal Past is the first story by Sarah Hamaker I've read, and I didn't love it. It felt a little incohesive, and there was a lot of anger between the main characters. I know it's the first book in a new series, but there were lots of plot threads that felt unsettled. All in all, Fatal Past is a good novel but not for me. I'm a constant re-reader, but I wouldn't pick up Fatal Past again.

Beneath the Crushing Waves by Kristen Hog is amazing! Jenni is an amazing character, with her resiliency and determination. This story focuses more on the mystery rather than the romance, but that did not make it any less enjoyable to read.

I received a complimentary copy from Two Dogs Publishing. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Four novellas all focused on discovering the truth.
"Trapped" by Jerusha Agen
"Kristen folded her arms in front of her. “I don’t want her to have to be afraid. I want her to live a normal life, not trapped by…our past. By my choices.” Compassion filled Sean’s eyes as he watched her."
This book focuses on a trafficking victim who is trying to stay safe and avoid the repercussions of her past. Not graphic at all, but still hard because of the theme. But so full of redemption and grace. A wonderful book about finding a second chance.

"Mine" by Sami Abrams
"He stared at the message written in red block letters. Stay away! She’s Mine! Officer Hanes appeared at his side and slapped his back. “Who’d you make mad?” He heard Brandon on the phone calling the county Crime Scene Unit to come collect his delivery as evidence."
This book involves a stalker and a child predator. The lengths the man would go to are extreme. Parts of the book are intense, yet the truth can set you free.

"Fatal Past" by Sarah Hamaker
"The tender exchange between father and son touched her heart, reminding her of what might have been had things turned out differently. But she firmly ignored those thoughts, not wanting to go any further down memory lane. Some things were best left in the past."
Eve Davenport thought she had run from her troubles. But the past has caught up to her and the results may not be what she has expected. She is scared of the truth, but it might just be what frees here.

"Beneath the Crushing Waves" by Kristen Hogrefe Parnell
"Why did He take Justin? Why did she have to resent teaching now? Why did every day seem barely survivable? No response came, but the waves continued to roll as if showing her life somehow would go on. Crest and fall. Ebb and flow."
This story has a different feel since the main character is a teacher trying to recover from a horrible loss. She is unwilling to trust and take a chance. But maybe she can be persuaded if the right man is there to help her. Parts were predictable but still a good story.

I did get to read an advanced copy of this anthology. I wanted to read and review it. All opinions are my own.

I give this 4 1/2 Stars!

I want to start by saying I received an ARC of this book. This book has four Christian romantic suspense stories by different authors in it. The first story is Trapped by Jerusha Agen. The main characters are Sean and Natasha. Natasha is living under a different name (Kristen) in a small town with her adopted teen daughter. Sean and Natasha used to be good friends. Can he find out what she changed her name and why she is in danger? Can he keep them safe? This book was of forgiveness. No matter what you have done in life God forgives you. I was so excited to read the book by Jerusha since I ARC read for her and it did not disappoint. The second story is Mine by Sami A. Abrams. The main characters are David and Jennie. Both have gone through some horrible things. When Jennie’s daughter Zoey gets into the crosshairs with a child predator can they keep her safe? Will they be able to finally move on from the stuff in their past? This story was full of suspense which I loved. The third story is Fatal Past by Sarah Hamaker. The main characters are Jefferson and Eve. When Eve stops a kidnapping attempt of Jefferson’s son Ethan they reconnect. They used to be high school sweethearts until they were both left heartbroken. Eve and Ethan are in danger. Can Jefferson keep them safe? Can they realize not all they were told and believed in the past were true? Can they moved forward together and have the future they deserved? The fourth story is Beneath the Crushing Waves by Kristen Hogrefe Parnell. One of the main characters is Jenni. She has moved back in with her parents to raise her daughter. She is still struggling with her husbands death when she gets thrown into danger. She runs into two guys she graduated with. Can she trust them to keep her safe? Can they find the truth before it’s too late? Will she open her heart to one of the guys? All four of these stories were full of forgiveness, moving on from the past, healing, and single parents. I truly enjoyed all of these stories and can’t wait to read more by the authors.

I jumped at the opportunity to review the fourth and final book in the Long Hot Summer: Christian Romantic Suspense anthology, Truth. It also didn’t hurt that I knew and liked three of the authors already, with the chance to find a new one.

I’ve read all of Jerusha Agen’s books, Trapped is part of her Security League series. Boutique owner Kristen has to decide if she can trust her childhood friend Sean, with where she’s been the last six years, when she realizes her past has caught up with her. She has to protect her adopted daughter.

Mine by Sami A. Abram’s has Jennie Neilson, an ED nurse treating detective David Whitman after being inured chasing an injured suspect who has also been brought in. To say their first encounter doesn’t go well is an understatement. When Jennies daughter receives a weird text, she calls David after he giver her his card at a school safety presentation.

Sarah Hamaker brings us Fatal Past where Doctor Eve Davenport saves a boy from an abductor in the park whose dad is Jefferson Smith, a childhood friend. Eve and Jefferson didn’t part on good terms and with their history there is tension as circumstances keep them connected.

In Beneath the Crashing Waves, new to me author Kristen Hogrefe Parnell tells is about school teacher Jenni Matthews being caught up in a drug investigation. Both officer Shane Prescott and Paramedic Logan Oswald graduated with her and she’s not sure if she can trust them.

You can’t loose with this book as you receive four suspenseful stories with some real good authors. I was provided a copy of this book by the author/publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.

Truth is an unforgettable collection of inspirational romantic suspense that delivers hope, healing, and high-stakes danger in equal measure. Each novella in this anthology is tightly written and emotionally compelling, with faith-based themes that never feel heavy-handed. The authors take on difficult topics with care and honesty, making for a deeply satisfying reading experience. Here’s what stood out in each story:

Trapped by Jerusha Agen
This one grabbed me from the start. Kristen Grant is a strong, protective mom trying to shield her adopted teen daughter from a dangerous past. The tension is real as Kristen is forced to face her past when her childhood best friend—and now security specialist—Sean Kingston reenters her life. I appreciated how Agen handled trauma and shame with such grace while giving readers a heartfelt second-chance romance that felt authentic and hard-won.

Mine by Sami A. Abrams
Another standout story of redemption and healing. Jennie and her daughter Zoey are thrust into danger when a simple text lands in the wrong hands, dragging the past back into the present. Detective David Whitman, still grieving his loss, finds a new purpose as he steps in to protect them. Abrams blends action and emotion beautifully, and the romance feels earned through shared pain, trust, and growth.

Fatal Past by Sarah Hamaker
I loved this one! Dr. Eve Davenport’s accidental involvement in a kidnapping attempt leads her to a shocking reunion with her high school sweetheart, Jefferson Smith. Their chemistry, combined with fast-paced danger, genealogy twists, and buried secrets, made this impossible to put down. Hamaker delivers edge-of-your-seat suspense with a deep emotional core.

Beneath the Crushing Waves by Kristen Hogrefe Parnell
This story offers a poignant exploration of grief, faith, and the journey of starting over. Jenni Battley is navigating widowhood and single motherhood when a chance accident brings two men from her past back into her life. I loved the emotional complexity here—grief, nostalgia, bitterness, and tentative hope—all wrapped up in a sweet and suspenseful narrative. The Psalms of lament were a particularly touching spiritual thread throughout Jenni’s journey.

If you’re looking for clean, faith-filled romantic suspense with real emotional stakes and brave heroines who overcome their pasts, Truth is a must-read. Each story stands on its own, but together they offer a powerful message: healing and truth are possible—even in the face of fear.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this book, and this is my honest and unbiased review.

Every single one of the books in this set is wonderful. They have suspense, intrigue, interesting plots, great character development, along with strong Christian elements. I highly recommend this anthology to anyone who likes good Christian romantic suspense.

Trapped - Jerusha Agen
Natasha aka Kristen moved to this small town three years ago and bought a boutique. She has a secret she does not want anyone to know about. Sean knew her in Chicago when they were best friends as children. She began to distance herself from him in high school, and then abruptly left town at age 18. Someone is after Natasha and her adopted daughter. Who wants her dead and why? Sean is trying to protect her, but it is difficult when he doesn’t know her true history. He loves her, but one major obstacle stands in their way. Sean is a committed Christian, and Natasha is not a Christian.

This is an extremely suspenseful story with good Christian aspects.

Mine - Sami A. Abrams
Jenny is a single mom of 10-year-old daughter and an ER nurse. She has escaped from an abusive boyfriend who may or may not be in jail for almost killing her. David is a detective with the sheriff’s department, on the child predator task force. When Jenny’s daughter Zoey is targeted by a child predator, David joins the fight to find not only the predator, but the network he is working with.

This story is really exciting story with well-developed characters and a suspenseful plot, full of twists and turns. It contains Christian principles such as prayer and trusting God.

Fatal Past - Sarah Hamaker ****

When she rescues an eight-year-old boy, Ethan, from a kidnapping, Eve recognizes his father as her high school boyfriend, Jefferson. They have recently moved to the town where she is working as a pediatric doctor. Soon, attacks are being made on both Eve and Ethan. Who is behind it, and can Jefferson protect them both and find out who wants them dead?

This is an exciting story with well-developed characters including Christian aspects such as prayer for protection.

Beneath the Crushing Waves - Kristen Hogrefe Parnell

Jenni is a widowed single mom who is teaching in the summer program at the elementary school. She and Logan went to high school together before she moved away. They had a secret crush on the other in high school. Now she is back, and Shane is a deputy sheriff. They need to find out who is selling cocaine to the children without getting killed in the process. Who is the good guy, and who is the bad guy? There is definitely has a mystery involved, wonderful characters, a sweet small town, and good Christian elements.

This is the first story I have read from this author, but it won’t be the last.

I received a copy of this set of books from one of the authors. My review is entirely voluntary and unbiased.

This book was very fast paced and gripping, especially the story lines throughout each of the stories. I have read three of the authors and knew that their stories would keep me on the edge of my seat. The first story shows how that no matter how bad your past is, you can be redeemed by God's saving grace. The next story shows that even though you have been in a bad controlling relationship, you can escape it with the help of loved ones and God's saving grace. The third story will take you on a wild ride , wondering who is behind all the attacks and why. The whole theme of the book is about truth and how it will set you free along with trusting in the One who gave His life for us. The final story is from a new to me author, though it wasn't as fast paced as the previous ones. It will make you want to jump into the story. The little girl, Lily steals the show and your heart. I received a complimentary copy of this anthology but was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are in my own words and what I thought of the stories. Plus I had already pre-ordered this anthology and happy that I did.

She was given a’new life to live, forgiven, and free…’
-‘She thought she’d found freedom when she had escaped… But she’d continued to live in bondage for three more years, trapped by her lies, secrets, and shame…’-
Oof. Another heavy duty but amazing story by Jerusha Agen! One of my favourite Christian romantic suspense authors, she’s done it again! This is one of those stories that will stay on my mind for days after reading it. It really makes me think how blessed I am to have lived the life I have when there is so much evil intent in the world and human trafficking and daily abuse are the reality for so many women and children. This is a work of fiction and it has a HEA with no cliffhangers. There is action, suspense, no graphic violence, forgiveness and redemption. It is an excellent story and I highly recommend it. This review is for the first book in the anthology “Trapped” by Jerusha Agen.

TRAPPED
Jerusha Agen
Violence had found her.

It was a long hard road for Natasha before she finally realized that God is a God of forgiveness, mercy and love.

MINE
Sami A. Abrams
It is so very hard for an abuse victim to accept that they are worthy of being loved, not abused.

ER nurse Jennie Nielson had been almost killed by a former boyfriend - someone who gaslighted her into believing she was worth nothing more than to be a punching bag.

FATAL PAST
Book One in Twin Oaks Secrets
Sarah Hamaker

An orphan, a swindler and the eternal quest for money leads to kidnapping, attempted murder and more. Will the truth finally win out?

BENEATH THE CRUSHING WAVES
Kristen Hogrefe Parnell

Could the past join her future or would Jenni die before ever finding out?

This anthology of short fiction was excellently written. I was most excited to read the first story, but the other three were equally well written and almost impossible to put down. Each story had protagonists who were easy to root for and absolutely diabolical villains who were easy to despise. I was very surprised in a positive way by the last story in the collection because it began so normally, but the sinister nature of the book became more apparent about halfway through, and the action was nonstop afterwards. I was very pleased with the gritty characters who didn’t give up in the face of danger, and I was encouraged by the reminders to trust God with everything. I highly recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys inspirational suspense and thrillers.

Sami A. Abrams’ contribution entitled “Mine” deserves 5 stars and more! Suspense doesn’t begin to cover this story! My heart raced and my emotions were in an upheaval as I lived each scenario right along with David, Jennie, Zoey, Brandon and so many others, trying desperately to determine the outcome, to no avail. The author did an amazing job keeping me guessing until the end!

Sarah Hamaker’s “Fatal Past” is packed full of intense suspense, shadows hiding the evil lurking behind every corner, danger over every horizon, this became the very existence of Dr Eve Davenport, the well respected, well liked pediatrician of Twin Oaks Clinic. Add an ex boyfriend with a son to the mix and problems multiply with no answer as to why or who. You’ll be drawn in from the first page, not wanting to stop until the end!

How can you beat four books in one?! I was drawn to this collection because I have read books by Jerusha Agen and Sami Abrams but once I started reading, I had to read them all!! Wow, all four stories in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat with suspense and you can make yourself crazy trying to find out who is behind everything in each story.

I have only read books by one of the authors before so it was nice to read new authors.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. The review expressed here is my honest opinion.

An anthology by four of my favorite authors. The stories were fast-paced, exciting, and had characters with many layers. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite. Each had its own set of riveting, suspenseful storylines along with a sweet romance.

The Christian message was woven seamlessly into each one—a message of God's love, grace, and hope. I read each story in one sitting. I couldn't put it down.

suspense and Love all Rolled into one!

These stories were so incredibly good! I could not put them down. Every story had me hooked from the first page. I have always loved Anthology and with it being suspense also? What more could I ask for. All the authors did such a great job with their stories, I plan on looking for more of their books.

Four amazing stories!

I enjoyed all of these stories. There was adventure, danger and suspense. The faith and romance added to each tale, and I enjoyed the different problems each set of characters faced. I have some new authors to investigate too!

This collection is just amazing as the other collections. It doesn't matter that you know that it will have a great ending, I'ts getting to that ending that makes you hold your breath the entire time you're reading. I highly recommend all four books.
