Starfalls Omegaverse #2

They Love Me Knot

Rate this book
After Daphne's pack breaks up with her for a new omega, Daphne swears off dating forever. If your alphas can dump you one day out of the blue after being together for years, there's no point in getting involved in pack life again.

Daphne moves to Starsfalls for a fresh start after being hired at the cutest flower shop. Adjusting to cozy small-town living doesn't take long, and she throws herself into her new job, leaving little time to think about foolish things like dating.

When a new man rides into her life on a shining motorcycle, will she be able to resist his tattooed charms?
What about the other alphas she meets in Starsfalls?
The grumpy alpha who calls her princess.
The super sweet alpha who wants to bake her all the desserts she could want.
The artist who wants to capture her likeness in paint.
And the alpha who exudes dominance, making her want to roll over for him on the spot.

Will they convince Daphne to take a risk on love when it can be so fickle?
Because even if these new men love her for now, someday they might not.

They Love Me Knot is a standalone why choose romantic comedy. It’s part of the Starsfalls Omegaverse, where HEAs are guaranteed in this cozy small town. This is a spicy slice of life romance with one FMC and several MMCs. They Love Me Knot is part of a series of standalone novels that can be enjoyed without reading the rest of the series. See Content Note at the start of the book for the spice content and possible triggers.

DNF. Most unintelligent characters I've ever come across. The FMC mumbles words out loud then thinks her coworker is psychic for responding to them until she tells her that she'd said them out loud. But then a little bit later she's talking about how that coworker had maybe managed to hide that she was psychic from her. She sees someone drop a piece of cake and thinks they threw it away but can't see over the counter at her tiny 5'2" height even when she jumps up to see (spare me from this writing). He trips on the cake and she rushes around the counter and trips on it too so he catches her. Then later she says she didn't even trip but he just pulled her down AND had been planning to get his packmates to join them in their little cuddle (he never said or even thought that). She bumps into someone holding a box of flowers and backlit by the sun and for their entire exchange, which was more than a few lines of dialogue from each of them, she legitimately thinks he's a giant bug with tattoos (the long leaves making antennae) acosting her. It isn't until she finally squeezes past and turns around that she realizes it's just a man sdjdksksk. She's been working at this shop for 7 months but for some reason she's the one talking to the client and taking her thanks when setting up for a wedding when the more senior staff she says she's also learning from is there right next to her.
The MMC she ran from is a baker and his idea for luring her back so he can talk to her is to strategically hide cookies around the town for her to be tempted by. His excuse to his packmate about why he was wandering the street looking for her instead of in his bakery is that he saw a giant scaled bird and ran out to chase it.

These things are not only dumb, they're insulting. It reeks of AI writing that's attempting to be comedic but missed the mark. With the changes in what the characters remember of previous conversations, the endless telling and internal monologue instead of showing, and the juvenile level of comedy, I'm done reading.

3.4 stars.

This was cute, but a couple things threw me off so I wouldn't probably read this author again.

Daphne just moved to this small town about 6 months ago. She's fresh off a bad relationship so isn't looking for any alphas or packs. But, she smells something divine in the baked goods and the hunt to find the source is on!

There were so many hilarious moments in this. The sexual innuendo is over the top but hilarious. I loved how she was craving a nearby alpha (who happened to be the baker) and kept trying to hunt his cookies. She has a moment with him and then runs away, only to meet another of his packmates, a cute beta. There was a time where I had no idea how many men were in this pack because the author kept showing us the men separately. And Daphne starts dating three groups of the pack without any of them knowing they were all dating the same Omega.

For the most part, I loved all the characters. I wasn't a huge fan of Ciro but, surprisingly, it was Austin I actively disliked. I'm not a big "baby girl"/"daddy" fan and found their interactions to be skeevy.

While it was cute and hilarious in a lot of areas, the author does a lot of telling us they are connecting without actually showing. Daphne is going on dates with these guys where we hear "and we talked so much about things we all liked" but WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS!? It made the immediate jumping into sexy times not work for me because I didn't feel their connection.

And when I say IMMEDIATE, I mean it. Daphne barely has met Feliks (the beta) before she's dragging him into another room at WORK to tear each others' clothes off (literally) and have messy sex.

The sex was too much and too soon. There are no conversations about pregnancy or disease. She is having sex with all these men without any of those important convos and she barely knows them.

Add to that, some of the sex felt SUPER unsafe to me, especially without detailed consent conversations beforehand. They knot her mouth... uh, I've never read that. And it cannot be safe to be locked inside someone's throat like that. I wouldn't be super happy with this in any book cause I'm not one for sadism, but for a light story like this? It felt way off.

Also, they have a primal chase scene and all I could think was "she's going to get hurt". She doesn't have shoes, doesn't know the area, and doesn't even have much in the way of clothing. Once again, they don't have a conversation. They just say, "run and we'll chase you". She's not really fit either. She doesn't run. It felt out of place.

This author tries to stuff (see what I did there) as much smut as possible into this "cozy" omegaverse, but sometimes less is more. It would have been nice to have more relationship development and some growth from "I don't want to date alphas" to "these guys are worth it". Instead, we just get a lot of "you smell good and I can't control myself from having sex with you".

Once again, there is a LOT of sex. And it felt over the top in a bad way. I don't like how many unsafe places she's sexing up her pack. She almost has sex in a restaurant, but they make it all the way into the alley before two alphas knot her. She has sex at work. She has sex in a parking lot (maybe a couple of times). She has sex in the street. She has sex in a forest. She has sex in a greenhouse. And on and on and on.

If you like a lot of smut and you aren't bothered by a lack of clear communication and don't mind some unsafe places, this might be for you.

As for me, I'll likely avoid this author. I want more relationship development.

3.5 ⭐️ 3🌶

The premise of this story is a comfy meet cute omegaverse. Daphne is starting over after her previous pack moved onto a new omega. She decides to move to a picturesque small town. While working in the local flowershop and exploring the new city, she encounters multiple members of a pack. She ends up on multiple dates. There is no sword crossing in this book. This pack has been looking for an omega but has been burned before.

I did enjoy this story but couldn't rate it higher because the premise of the book is also heavy on the miscommunication trope, which led to a weird pacing of the story. This is a personal dislike. Therefore, if this doesn't bother you, ultimately, you may enjoy this story more. There is a decent amount of spice, but tame to other omegaverse stories I've read.

I was given an advance copy for an honest review.

Book 2 of Starfalls Omegaverse was a highly anticipated read for me this fall and IT DIDN’T DISAPPOINT!!

Think small cozy town, flavored 💦, 4 dominate alphas and a beta, slice of life, improper use of a motorcycle, daddy k!ink and age gap, all wrapped into a cute little romcom that’s sweet AND spicy. What more could you want?!

Daphne is such a sweet omega, albeit a little quirky and scatterbrained but I think that’s the theme with Winnie’s fmcs, and I love it! It makes for a lighthearted read.

This large pack is WONDERFUL. Each mate is unique and different in their own way, has their own personality and job, and has their own hang-ups, all while still remaining low-stakes.
You get a little bit of an intense sense of sadness for Ciro, the eldest, for his past, but that is truly the only part that isn’t “cozy” about this story!
Pack Fleur is probably my fav so far.

The burn is SO GOOD in this. And by burn, I don’t mean how long it takes for some of them to jump bones. I mean THE BURN TO REALIZE WHO SHES ACTUALLY SCREWING.
It was so well paced and I LOVED IT.
If you know, you know. If not, just go read it, duh 🤣

Just make sure you have ALL of your devices charged for this one. You will need it. These men got mouths on them 🥵🤤

Thank you to Winnie for an advanced copy of They Love Me Knot!

This book was a solid solid miss for me👎🏻

For starters, the constant in-depth descriptions of random food items was annoying as hell. Like I don't actually care that she is choosing between a "lavender ice coffee with brown sugar and vanilla cold foam" or an "orange blossom and Pistachio latte" only to get a "coconut and rose iced coffee with borage flowers and vanilla whipped cream" instead. And I also don't care about the "rose infused chocolate chip cookies" or the "peoney and dahlia flower vanilla filled cookies" or "ham and Swiss croissant with tomato marinara pesto mozzarella pastry" either. The sheer AMOUNT of food items mentioned in this book that were floral in some way too actually made it more annoying than endearing, like when you encounter a horse girl that's so into it she eats grass.

Speaking of food, I absolutely despised the amount of times and the sheer volume of food that was mentioned in this book. Literally EVERY CHAPTER there was mention of Daphne eating food, and not just light mentions of going to lunch or having a dinner date... every single time, it was Daphne stuffing her face with entire boxes of cookies within a day (several times) or binge eating entire tables full of food in on meal. One time she baked several dozen cookies and when she realized that it was too much, she decided to eat them all right at that moment to hide her embarrassment in her own house for baking too many. She went on a date to a restaurant and ate an entire platter of a shared table appetizer to herself, then ate her own pasta entre, then ordered 3 separate desserts and ate them all to herself, and then a few hours later she ate a bunch of food truck tacos. Another time, she goes out to eat with her Beta, and it's stated she "ordered so much food it filled the entire picnic table." There's more examples all throught this book, too. Every chapter in this book has Daphne eating excessive amounts of food, and it actually pisses me off. Daphne is already portrayed as a plus sized woman, and then you're gonna write her constantly binge eating (which is an ED in itself by the way), and to me as a plus sized woman myself, it just perpetuates the stigma that fat people are always eating. It's not like there was a rhyme or reason for Daphne to be eating so much food in one sitting either... there was no mention of her having an ED, nor did it say she had trauma surrounding food, and there wasn't anything said about her medically... she just binge eats food because she likes food. I'm fat too, and won't turn down a cookie, but that doesn't mean I'd eat over a dozen cookies within an hour or eat 3 different full sized desserts after having already eaten and appetizer and entre only to then go and eat some more heavy food a few hours later. All the food eating in this book was very very unsettling to me, and actually gave me the heebie jeebies.

Next, we have the relationship with the pack. First of all, nothing was more agonizingly annoying than the whole non-comunication trope that was going on for more than 70% of the book. Daphne was dating all 5 members of the same back without the pack even realizing they were dating the same woman. They tried to make it sound reasonable by the end, but it didn't actually help their cases because it was still such a drag, especially when that was the supposedly the main intrigue of the book plot wise.
Now, onto the characters themselves. We know next to nothing about them. The entire time these people are dating we don't actually get given much about them other than the loose "we talked for ages and have so much in common" like okay, then share with the class then??? It was hard to like any of the characters because we don't get much information about them.
• Daphne: came from a big city, been a florist for 10 years, works at Queen of Hearts flower shop, started dating a pack in College and was with them for 6 years before they left her for another omega (related trauma to that), doesn't want to date alphas, loves food, loves floral flavoured things, has weak ankles so hates to run, and the only reason we know Daphne is in her 30s in from the Content Warning where it is mentioned but never in the book itself
• Feliks: Rides a motorcycle, has schematic tattoos on arms and hands, came from a small town, did apprentice work at different bike shops before settling in Starsfalls to do custom bikes, loves hand feeding Daphne, has insecurity about being a beta
• Sterling: owns the bakery Flourist, likes baking and flowers, has severe anxiety that has hospitalized him in the past (no further mention of it), bites his nails as an anxious tick
• Kieran: is a painter, mainly paints landscapes, sells his work at an art gallery, likes to read (was recommended a series called Big Tex)
• Alister: owns a company (not stated what the company is or does), has an assistant named Darcy, hates company parties, is an older man (not stated how old, just quite a bit older than the others), likes primal chase, collects stationery
• Ciro: owns a flower farm called Flower Gully, started his business from the ground up with his bare hands, was rejected by his past pack and kicked out, doesn't like omegas, grows Vanilla Orchids as a hobby, Vanilla is his favourite scent/flavour, loves primal chase
That's literally all we know about them as characters, which is not much at all. We have no idea how they became a pack at all even, we don't know about their families, or their actual life experiences... it's a pathetic about of information that we do know for an almost 500pg book. We don't even see the guys really interact as a group until the very end when Daphne is involved. I think there was too much focus on the storyline involving the characters dancing around each other secretly rather than actually developing them well as characters to stand alone. I will also mention that Daphne was quite insufferable, she acted like an airhead and a doormat, in addition to being a scatterbrain, and had no substance to her nor did she ever had a clear thought even though she had the most chapters able to develop her.

As an omegaverse it was just okay, but my biggest issue is the whole "scent match" aspect because it really didn't seem relevant to the story with how late in the game it was mentioned, to the point where it almost seemed like an afterthought really.

I decided to read this book when I found out from official character art that the fmc was plus sized (because the cover art doesn't portray that) and was excited to give a new author a go....big mistake in my opinion.

I wasn't impressed at all, and would not recommend

DNF 40%

Looking at the cover I was expecting something sweet but in fact the FMC, who sweared off alphas, behaved like a nymphomaniac in heat🙄 Not the sweet, genuine and innocent omega.

DNF at 54% … just not vibing with it at all tbh. Don’t like the premise of them all not realizing they’re into the Daphne, Ciro seems like a massive douche and I really was quite bothered by Daphne constantly being distracted by her omega thoughts. Not a style of writing I’m used to, and just wasn’t for me.

Yeah. This was not for me. The writing style is hard to follow. Feels like things jump from one scene to another.
No one communicates.
It’s a constant push away from one pack member.
No pack relationships.
It’s just not well done.

This was a cute book overall with sweet characters and a fun setting.

Daphne is a sweetheart of a woman who works in a flower shop. She’s been burned before by an alpha pack and thinks she’s not going to have anything to do with alphas anymore. She comes across very much as a girlie girl even when she’s trying to run the show.

The pack is also so sweet, though there’s a few take-charge guys as well. There’s a fun dynamic with the big grump Ciro especially.

This book is light on plot, lots of fluffy and fun description abounds. So it’s vibes more than anything, to me anyway. Cute, cozy vibes.

There’s some internal struggles within the characters - Daphne and Ciro are both reluctant to be in a relationship though Ciro more than Daphne. The pack isn’t very open with each other and that leads to some secrets in dating. So there’s a bit for them to all work out.

There’s plenty of spice in this book as you’d expect from omegaverse. However, it often didn’t hit for me - I just wanted more between the characters first so it was actually kind of difficult to get into the spicy scenes. Sometimes it was also a little jarring going from super cutesy to super sexual and not having much between.

I think others could definitely like this book more than me - the “voice” of the storytelling just didn’t click for what I tend to like in a book. It was a bit all over the place in internal dialogue and plot. I’m not sure if that’s the FMC’s personality coming through and I just didn’t gel with it or if it’s the writing style. I don’t necessarily think anything needs changing but the style overall just didn’t work for me but it could for others!

Others could enjoy this if they are looking for something super cute but also spicy and lighter on plot. I wouldn’t turn people away from this one necessarily, but depends what they’re looking for.

I appreciate the ARC opportunity from the author.

I received an advance copy of the book and have left my honest, influence-free review.

Oh look your resident furry is back with yet another wolfy book 😌

They Love Me Knot is not just small-town Omegaverse fluff, it’s a whole damn mating frenzy wrapped in flower petals.

Daphne, freshly yeeted by her old pack for a shinier omega, is like “men? never again” But Starsfalls? Oh, Starsfalls said “lol babe, here’s five alphas, pick your favorite knot…or don’t, why choose?”

We’ve got:
🐺 The grump who calls her princess (yes daddy, ruin me)
🐺 The cinnamon-roll baker who wants to fill her with sugar and his knot
🐺 The artist ready to paint her like one of his feral omegas
🐺 The dominant alpha who just exudes “lie down and take it” energy
🐺 And of course, the tattooed motorcycle dreamboat, rolling in like trouble incarnate

This book is chaotic pack-building foreplay, layered with cozy flower shop vibes and sprinkled with just enough small-town wholesomeness to make you forget you’re also waiting for Daphne to get wrecked six ways from Sunday 🥰

The spice? Knots. Heats. Claiming. The good feral Omegaverse soup. And somehow Winnie Aster makes it rom-com funny on top of all that slick tension.

It’s cozy chaos until it’s absolutely not, and I devoured it like a starving omega in a bakery full of cream-filled pastries 🩷

This was a fun read! Daphne’s fresh start in Starsfalls was easy to sink into, and I loved the mix of sweet small-town vibes with her emotional journey toward trusting love again. The pack dynamic was entertaining, and each member brought something different to the story, which kept things engaging.

The audiobook was especially wonderful—the narration really brought out the humor, warmth, and chemistry between the characters, making it hard to stop listening. The spice was definitely better here than in book 1—more natural, more satisfying, and well-balanced with the plot.

If you’re here purely for the spice, you’ll probably enjoy the epilogue, but personally, I felt it was a bit unnecessary to the overall story. Still, this was a charming, steamy, feel-good romance that’s perfect for those who love a why-chose!

This was a fun omegaversus to read. Daphne is an omega just trying to live her best life alpha and pack free so of course the universe decides she needs a pack full of alphas and one hot beta. The gag is most of the pack doesn't know that the rest of the pack is dating her all at the same time and it is just one hilarious meet cute after another with lots of spice in between. I can't wait to see who the next book is about, because there literally has to be another book in the series because I'm obsessed.

This was a really cute omegaverse book! I loved all the characters, especially our beta Feliks 😍

I did have a few issues with the plot, she was dating the whole pack sort of in groups but didn’t know they were a pack and they didn’t all know they were dating the same woman. I figured they might have been able to smell her on each other 🤷‍♀️ especially with all the sexy times she had with them all.

It was cute and low/no angst, just maybe a little long.

Thank you for the ARC.

A first for me from this author and it was a great introduction to her writing!
It was cute and cozy and so hot!
I loved the dynamic between them all, and i kind liked how she managed to like date them all separately.
The characters felt fleshed out and Daphne had some past issues with her old pack but that didn't completely hold her back from falling for them all individually!
It was such a sweet read and I'd definitely go back and read the first one!

I loved this book! It was SUPER cozy and had me laughing every few chapters. There was basically zero angst in this one and no major drama. The spice started within the first 10-15 chapters and it just kept on coming (pun intended, there were a lot of fluids in this one). Fair warning if you are grossed out by ✨fluids✨ being mixed with food skip the epilogue.

I understand the plot device of letting the reader in on more than the characters. That being said, this book did that to such an extent I started pondering if I was feeling how God feels when he looks down upon humanity.

This was disappointing and so far from reality it was annoying along with too long. There is no relationship building between the omega & pack. She is reluctant to have alphas but has sex with all of them on the first date, even the one who’s been openly hostile with her and didn’t even show up to the date! She has DP with knotting in an alley on a first date. Like what the actual hell. The whole book is basically, flowers, her hungry (constantly eating food with way too detailed descriptions) and sex. The miscommunication trope was exhausting. Don’t waste your time, 500 pages which could have been 250.

I struggled with this as with lots of these books with multiple partners they never develop any characters.

Daphne- was dumped by her last pack of 6 years doesn’t want to date again.

Feliks- Beta rides a motorcycle no clue what his job is or much about him.

Ciro- plant guy has had his heart broken by other alphas and omega

Sterling- sensitive bakery owner

Kieran- painter

Alister- businessman no clue what sort he wears a suit.

This is all you know about the characters they don’t communicate with each other she is dating them all which they know about but don’t talk to each other about. It drag nothing happens then it ends.

stupid...or murder?

this had to have been a middle schoolers fever dream, because what in the Wattpad did I just read.

there was nothing likeable about this book; seriously.
first of all, the writing style.
COMMAS DO NOT REPLACE PERIODS.
The amount of run on sentences that occured hurt me.
hurt me deep in my writers soul.
and my heart, if I had one.

also, what was it with the descriptions?
Daphne, the main character, had severe trauma from her exes that was glossed over, in like, a sentence.
same with one of her new boyfriends, Ciro.
but the author wrote five fucking paragraphs about a plate of food.

hello, Charles Dickens? please take your daughter back, she's scaring me.

I mean, I love food. seriously, desserts make me happy, and I love that everyone has different bodies. I'm a proud size six, and my friends a gorgeous size 12. but eating is great- when done in moderation.
Daphne ate an entire platter of cookies. by herself.
for breakfast.
and she was late to TWO dates because she was baking and eating MORE cookies.
....
....
....

mommy, I'm scared.

Daphne was supposedly a kind person, but all she did was boss around everyone, and get annoyed when she didn't get her way.
she tried to grope her boyfriend, Kieran, at her WORKPLACE in front of the counter (so, no privacy) and got "pouty" when he didn't let her.
pouty.
I swear, that's what the description said.
not only that, but when she first met Ciro, she tried to barge out the door where he ALWAYS comes in to drop off deliveries, and bumped into him.
when he got annoyed because she was hurting the flowers he was dropping off, she got angry at him and told him to watch where he was going, and apologize.
excuse me, but what you're looking for isn't a boyfriend.
it's called a doormat.
there like, five bucks at five below and take way less maintenance than a man if that's what you're looking for.
but anyway, she was a terrible person.
and her boyfriends were pathetic, because somehow, they were flatter than my tits, which I didn't think was possible.
oh!
better. flatter than my ex's personality 👌
nailed it.
they had no goals beyond sleeping with her and mating with her.
no ex's to spice things up with a little angst, no conflict, nothing.
just them coasting on sex and miscommunications 🤦‍♀️
urgh.

also. Feliks, one of Daphne's boyfriends, from the first time he sees her, calls her kitten.
no.
NO.
I love nicknames. like in Legacy of the Gods, it was done right.
or, some personal favorites:
* butterfly
* little bird
* darling (because rhysand)
nicknames either show affection, or an aspect of the characters personality. it shows how someone else views them, and who they are in that view. but when it's so fucking generic, it's just an ick, because there's nothing special at all.
he didn't have to know her to call her that.
he didn't even have to fucking thing about it.
it was just a skeevy nickname you can expect from your coked up landlord when he tells you you can pay your rent with something other than money.
in genuinely ruined his character for me. despite the fact he's a goddamn BIKER BOY

also, side characters: Poppy was supposed to be Daphne's best friend (yes, poppy who works in a flower shop.
kill me now)
but Poppy does nothing but kind of just...be there. and be bubbly.
no real character, no personality.
take her out of the book, and it doesn't change at all.
she was just there, i guess, to show Daphne wasn't a lonely loser?
I don't even know at this point.
when she mentioned Daphne's ex's, I immediately got excited, because what if SHES the omega they left Daphne for, but she got wise and dumped them?
except nope.
nothing.
there was no final confrontation with her ex's, no angst, no drama, nothing.
while that's great in real life, it makes for a very boring book.

overall, the writing was cringe, the characters were unlikeable, and the plot was shit. I mainly only read it out of boredom, so...yay me.

fuck my life, I'm gonna go kidnap a biker boy.

Overall, this book is a 3.5 for me. It had a lot of potential to be a great book, but there were a few things that bothered me.

Let's start with the good.
I liked that the guys were all different, there was no muddying, and I wasn't confused about who was who for the MMCs.
I liked the premise of the story. FMC started over in a small town, always cute and adorable. I do like that she was standing for the most part on her own two feet. Not a damsel in distress, but a little bruised from her past relationship. I was also a HUGE fan that the old guys didn't come back to cause drama, it wouldn't have made sense in this storyline.

Each guy had their own hangups, more so than others. We got some of the typical MMC types- golden retriever, broken broody guy, and the guy in charge. It was good that for the most part the issues were all talked through.

Even though they were already a pack, they weren't properly operating as a pack like openness and etc. So it was nice to see them COME together for her, I do wish we saw a little bit more of that but I understand it did happen towards the end of the book so you get the feeling that they'll work on it past the HEA we read.

The not so good... but some of these are a personal preference.

The parentheses, like a comment or something other than an inner thought, took me "out" of the book. It almost felt like it was trying to break the "4th wall" but not really? It's really hard to describe why it bugged me so much. It got less as we got towards the middle of the book, but it was still there towards the end.

The one thing that's definitely a "personal issue" is that the miscommunication trope was heavy in this book. It ties into why I didn't like how she was dating all of the pack, but none of them told each other. We find out why at the very end of the book, but it almost seemed more dishonest than protective.

I was not really a fan of Allister, and his Dom personality it just rubbed me the wrong way how he went about everything.

Additionally, the tone of the book felt inconsistent at times; it wasn't as consistent as it could've been.

Last, some of the monologue was a tell, not a show. I couldn't paint a picture in my head of the scene that I was reading. And it felt long at points.

Overall, it's a great book, but I think if she had maybe an alpha or beta reader look at this before, it could've been a 5-star read.

i thought this was going to be a sweet, spicy omegaverse full of fun and affection and playful banter. and it tries. oh boy, does it try. it tries so so so hard. there’s a lot of weird juvenile innuendo and humor in this book, which is sort of off putting.

but honestly, my biggest problem in this book was the sex. and far be it from me to be prudish, considering what i’m usually reading, but the sex in this book is just incredibly strange??

80% of it takes place in public. but not in a sexy “oh i couldn’t wait to have you” or exhibitionism kind of way. it’s more that every time she greets someone or sees them, she’s immediately pulling them down on top of her. there were so many times in this book where halfway through a sex scene i was like “where are we???” and the answer was (strangely) always somewhere weird like the middle of a road, the back room at her new-ish job, or just ??? somewhere? i think this character has sex in a bed/nest situation literally once in the whole book.

and i know that’s a weird thing to focus on, but it really just exemplified the problems i had with the book, which were mostly pacing and setting. we never see this character like…going home. we get half a scene of her baking at home and other than that she’s either at work or sleeping with someone in a confusingly public place and that’s mostly all that happens.

and as usual, my largest complaint is that we don’t actually know any of these people. she’s had maybe a grand total of 5 conversations with these people??? most of them she’s met with, slept with, and then left. one of them, she argued with him two and a half times. two of them she met with for dinner and didn’t end up eating dinner or talking to them at all because they had to leave the restaurant to go fuck in an alley.

and at the end of the book they’re all confessing their love and bonding, except for one of them literally says “we will court you and date you and get to know you” and she says “no i love you bond me now.”

so even the characters are aware of the fact that they all barely know each other and somehow that’s still supposed to be romantic. this book was just…very disorienting and strange to get through.

In They Love Me Knot, Winnie Aster delivers a deliciously cozy, medium-paced Omegaverse standalone that perfectly balances sweet small-town vibes with a high-heat "why choose" romance. Narrated with incredible depth by Raven Wildewood and Silas Hart, this second installment in the Starsfalls series follows Daphne, a quirky and scatterbrained omega who has sworn off pack life after being heartlessly discarded by her previous alphas.

Seeking a fresh start, she moves to the charming town of Starsfalls to work at a flower shop, determined to bury her heart in floral arrangements and baking rather than risk another breakup. However, her resolve is quickly tested by Pack Fleur, a group of five distinct, protective men who embody the "daddy kink" and age-gap tropes with effortless charm.

The pack is a vibrant mix of personalities: there is Alister, the dominant head alpha who truly earns his protective reputation; Sterling, the sweet, awkward baker; Kieran, the artistic soul who paints floral landscapes; and Ciro, the eldest alpha whose tragic past provides the story’s only touch of intense angst. Bridging the gap is Feliks, the tattooed, motorcycle-riding beta who first manages to crack Daphne's defenses and convince her to give love—and alphas—one more chance.

What makes this romcom truly stand out is the "flower explosion" of sensory details. From the botanical naming conventions to the mouth-watering descriptions of iced lilac oat milk lattes and vanilla bean custard cookies, the atmosphere is thick with sweetness.

The plot expertly handles the "miscommunication" trope through a brilliantly paced "burn," where the tension lies in Daphne slowly realizing exactly who she is falling for. As she navigates individual dates—like the endearing duo outing with Sterling and Kieran—the story builds toward a satisfying, "low-stakes" HEA. It is a lush, spicy slice-of-life read that proves even when love feels fickle, the right pack can make it feel like home.

2.5 stars, rounded up. I liked the concept of this book but the execution fell flat for me.

Daphne (an omega) has a bad breakup with a pack that didn't appreciate her and moves to a small town to take a job as a florist. She runs into a bunch of alphas and a beta and somehow agrees to go on dates with all five of them. It turns out that they are in a pack together but each of them wants to get to know Daphne slowly before introducing her to the rest of the pack (who it turns out that she is already dating).

There were several parts of the execution/writing of the story that didn't work for me. We know Daphne is reluctant to date again, particularly alphas, but almost immediately loosens up after getting together with Feliks, the pack's beta member. Daphne is also oblivious to the fact that the five men are her scent matches (somewhat explained by the fact that they all have floral scents and she works with flowers all day), and the men don't realize it themselves until she goes into heat (maybe because she wears scent cancelling products)? Also, the pack members don't know that they are all dating Daphne until about 75% of the way through the book, which is not realistic. We see Alister, the head alpha, being concerned about his packmates acting weird but that doesn't come up again after he starts dating Daphne too. Like, every person in the pack knows that the others are dating someone (in ones and twos) for weeks, yet it never comes up that they are all dating the same woman? My last big issue is that Ciro denies that he wants Daphne and hides from her, yet simultaneous makes her a big courting gift?

I wanted to like this book because the idea was cute. And while the writing was okay, it sometimes fell into the trap of telling, not showing. There were also several plot holes that didn't make sense. It wasn't a bad book (the spice, at least, was good) but the execution wasn't what I hoped it would be.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.5 rounded up

Love the flower themes of this book. Daphne, our FMC, is a florist, one of the guys is a flower farmer, and everyone’s scent is a flower! And the author clearly did their research with the meanings of flowers. I was sold the moment the FMC was in the flower shop.

The guys were great. If I had to pick a favorite, it’d be Sterling. He’s adorably weird and unhinged. My least favorite, or the Alpha I felt was the weakest, would probably be Kieran or Alister. I just needed more from them, which is a shame because Alister had the Daddy kink going on, which I love. But chemistry-wise and appeal-wise, it’s a tie between the two, since I felt they needed the other men—Sterling and Ciro—to carry them. Feliks and Ciro were so hot and kinky! Sterling was also kinky, though sadly it was toward the end , but still kinky!

Aside from the main characters, I also loved the side characters—it was giving found family vibes. The town and setting were lovely; it was giving homey and relaxing. The only few things I didn’t like were how Daphne was being stupid at times and kept omitting a lot of details from the guys. Though, to be fair, the guys did the same, so I guess they’re even. Also, it bothered me how the guys weren’t aware they were dating the same girl, despite a couple of them stalking Daphne—especially near the very end—and there being people in town who knew about it but didn’t say a word.

For being like 380 pages really nothing happens. It felt like 600pages and that’s never a good sign. Usually I read these books in like a day, this one took a bit more then 3.

There’s a lot of descriptions of food that makes me believe the author was on a diet. That and flowers, which is more believable seeing how the fmc is working with flowers. Some confusing parts, like how Ciro went from a giant bug to a human, what delulu state was that? For being the length that it is there is minimal character development, if you don’t count Alister going from a gentleman to let’s do primal play in less then 2,5 seconds. Ciro had probably the most development, seeing how he went from nasty to sweet.

The kinda miscommunication trope is strong, cause how does a pack of 5 alphas talk so little with eachother that nobody realizes that they’re dating the same omega? Ciro even stalks her and he doesn’t pick up on the fact that all of his packmates are with her too. I get they tried a little bit, but everyone said they were dating an omega and didn’t want the one the others were dating. But common! Atleast ask for a name! Or scent profile. Or like how did you meet? What does she work with? Is it serious between you and this omega? But nah, let’s just date what assume is 3 different omegas meaning we will have to choose one and no one wants that, meaning we will have to break the pack. But no one talks about that either. Stupid ass alphas.

I don’t get the need to force cock in her mouth, and to knot it too? Like it’s described that she can’t breathe several times and she chokes a lot. I get there are 5 guys so sucking is going to happen, but this was kinda focused on that leading me to believe the author has a kink.

I was really excited when I found this book, now I kinda wished I DNFd it, cause that was a waste of a weekend.

I wanted to like this book so much more than I did. The premise is right up my alley being a small town romance and found family story but the way the book is written is like disorganized inner thoughts that detail so much and everything goes off on tangents. I’m usually a fan of quirky humor in books but half the book is innuendos, whether intentional or “not,” and most of the book is smut or the characters thinking about smut. I love smut with little to no plot moment but not for almost 500 pages. This book was so hard to muddle through and I would’ve DNF’d it but I’m stubborn. I’m really not a fan of the writing style in general but one particular annoyance was that the author used parentheses instead of em dashes. It was in almost every other paragraph that this happened and I’m not trying to be too harsh but that made it harder to get through personally because it was frustrating seeing so many (unnecessary imo) parentheses. The FMC also goes from swearing off alphas and agonizing over canceling dates with them to having hazy and lust filled encounters on first dates with them within the span of a chapter or two, seeming to have instantly forgotten all of her reservations for no apparent reason other than that they smelled good. I love an insta-love trope when done right, but this delayed insta-love kind of scenario is just frustrating and confusing. The pacing is also weird in the book because of all the focus on the smut scenes which is frustrating as well. Overall, I would not recommend this book unless you know you for sure like this author’s work. With this being the second book from this author that I’ve been underwhelmed by, I might stop reading this series even though I really like the premise and a lot of details about the town and characters which is disappointing.

“It’s true, love at first sight is real.”

ARC Review - Release date September 19
They Love Me Knot by Winnie Aster
Overall 4.75/5 stars

💛The vibes of this book were so fun! The soft and sweet mixed with a little zany & quirky was such a distinct tone that I really enjoyed!

💐The FMC is this sweet sweet omega with a quirky penchant for speaking her thoughts out loud, obsessing over baked goods, and gettin’ a biiiiit frisky in public. Her inner/outer dialogue is so funny. I loved her sense of humor and quirkiness!

💐The MMCs were a delicious mix of personalities that kept the interactions very balanced and quite interesting. It was hard not to love them all. I also really enjoyed how the visceral reaction that the FMC had to each of them was different and quite distinct.

💐The focus of this book is definitely on the relationship building and dealing with personal struggles surrounding courtships. The dates are very cozy and heat up fast! 🥵🥵 There are a few people with personal insecurities that we get to see some personal growth as well!

The Vibes
🩷Sweet
😏Quirky
🥵Steamy

What’s Inside?
♥️Knotting
♥️Why choose with Group fun
♥️Primal play
♥️Inappropriate uses of motorcycles
♥️Inappropriate workplace activities
♥️Age gap (30s FMC & older man)
♥️Nesting & heats
♥️Romcom silliness
♥️Lots of delicious food talk and eating
♥️Cozy small town living

The floriography was also another really nice touch. With our FMCs profession of florist, and deep passion for floriography it was really fun to see that pop up in other ways within the plot ( I know, I know, kinda vague but I don’t want to spoil anything!). It’s a really fun touch! 🌺

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. My opinions are my own. Thank you!

I didn't think this book would hook me the way it did! This is a great standalone with a variety of spiciness for everyone and would happily recommend this if you are looking for this type of omegaverse standalone. This is definitely a medium paced book for the spicy scenes (absolutely loved them!) but it didn't feel rushed or disrupt the pacing of their slow relationship development if that makes sense! I did enjoy Daphne's story along with her mates, really enjoyed the different pacing with the relationships individually and the ending was nicely finished. I liked Daphne as a main character; she wasn't annoying, had a likeable personality and she was conveyed greatly throughout for her passion for flowers and trying out a new hobby of baking.

Out of all of Daphne's love interests, I think Feliks and Sterling were my favourites. I did enjoy the duo date moments from Kieran and Sterling; Sterling being very awkward and not knowing how to act with Daphne and Kieran helping support him. Sterling's passion for baking and being a sweet guy paired with the arty, supportive Kieran, they won me over. The head alpha, Alister, definitely earned his nickname in this book with his spicy scenes but was overall a caring alpha who wanted to care and protect Daphne and his bond mates. Feliks is our tattooed, motorcycle riding beta who won over Daphne from the start and opened her heart up to accepting giving alphas a chance again after her past. Lastly, Ciro, who was hurt badly by his past pack was the hardest to come round to accepting his attraction to Daphne but I did love his small gestures in gaining her trust back at the end and his sweet gesture with the flowers!
