When not reading, writing or watching Korean zombie movies, you can usually find her supporting one one of her five kids as they sing, dance or act on a stage somewhere. While her kids were born with stars in their eyes, the idea of being the center of attention makes Micki want to pass out.
Her other hobbies include wrestling with her two American Bulldog rescues, Ozzy and Luna, or begging her cat, Cora, for attention.

MY RATING ☆☆☆☆Chasing Jenna by Micki Fredricks
A Tangled Web of Deceit with Twists And Turns that will have you trying to guess the plot all the way through..Expect the Unexpected..
The one you think you can trust is the one you shouldn't.
Jenna's life consisted of school, homework and working whilst others her age were out partying she was working to survive. So starting a new Uni away from home she was like a fish out of water, totally out of her element..The girl who strived to be invisible..
Maybe I could be a new Jenna, a better Jenna, my entire life had revolved around the poor decisions my mum had made.
THE BROTHERHOOD
You're beautiful, but you don't know that, do you? Be careful Jenna, you could drive a man to do bad things.
There was just something about Cale that had the red flag raising from the beginning that I couldn't put my finger on, it had me guessing to know what he was hiding, what his story was, what act he was playing at which had me guessing all the way through until the climax where all was revealed..
SPONSORING
Every year we have to sponsor a girl, it's a promise to mentor and support her emotionally, financially or spiritually, or whatever that person should need. We do this because, one of the traditions of our house, is to give back to people who may not have been as fortunate in life as we have ~ Cale
I am your keeper Jenna. I've been assigned to keep you safe since you were chosen
Cale was not an option for me ~ He had everything. ~ And I barely had anything
My life's path is already laid out ahead of me, but it's based on someone else's decisions, not mine ~ Cale
Jenna needed an escape from her life and a fresh start at college seemed to be just what was going to change the trajectory that she was on. It was a difficult thing to jump into a new life but Jenna was determined that this was going to be the change that she needed. Little did she know that her life would take a turn and get even more complicated than she had imagined. I loved reading this book! I was never quite sure where it was going and for me that is a great read. Unpredictable and very well written from start to finish I was pulled into the lives of the characters and wished that I could sit in one reading to finish it. The story is full of great twists and turns and unexpected events and is is such a fun read that I found myself a bit disappointed when I read the last page. I was happy to receive an ARC of this book and after reading it I was struck by how each detail that author Micki Fredericks revealed was expertly revealed and written. Another fabulous plus was that it was obviously well edited and I loved the way that the story flowed and unfolded with easy transitions. I am looking forward anxiously to anything that this author offers in the future---it is sure to be a winner.
This book was fantastic. It held my interest from start to finish. The author had a very easy, fluid writing style that made me able to picture every scenario, every place and every person so vividly. The mystery and suspense had me clinging to each page, anxious to get to the next chapter to see how the story would play out. And just when I thought I had it - a new twist developed to throw me off course, once again.
Bravo to the author. This was a very well written, well thought out story line. I look forward to what she writes next.
My rating has to do mostly with the writing. The premise and the story itself was original. I can not tell you how I was so surprised by the turn of events. Jenna goes away to college. She grew up poor with a single mother who went through boyfriends. Jenna has always been leery since she experienced enough violence when her mother would have a boyfriend who drank too much, etc. At college, on the first day, Jenna meets Cale. Cale is perfect. He is handsome and perfect looking in his khakis and polo. Cale belongs to a private Brotherhood. It is not a fraternity, but a private group that has been part of university for decades and passed on through generations. It is a privilege and an honor to be part of the Brotherhood. Cale and Jenna start a relationship, but then Cale introduces Jenna to a friend though this private Brotherhood club, Ryan. Ryan is the opposite of Cale. He is rugged with the whole bad boy attitude. Jenna and Ryan develop a friendship and Jenna can not help but to develop feelings for Ryan. But since Jenna is offered a sponsorship by Cale through the Brotherhood. A sponsorship where her tuition is paid in full and other items are offered, it complicates her relationship with Cale and Ryan.
Jenna frustrated me to no end. There were so many times that her behavior was very mature and then she would do something that I could not help but roll my eyes. A lot of her statements about school and her roommate felt repetitive. There were many times through the book where I felt she was stringing both guys along. One minute she wanted to be with Cale then she would want to be with Ryan. I was getting whiplash with her indecision. But then and that is a big BUT something happens a turn of events that was a complete mind (blank). I had to go back and reread pages because I thought I was reading it wrong. I do not want to give anything away, but wanted to give a little preview of the story. Like I mentioned my biggest problem was the writing. A lot of inner dialogue. The story was there but the delivery fell short in a few places. Also, I felt the ending was a little abrupt. There was not epilogue. It just ended. A copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was by far one of the best books I have read this year. From the very first page to the last I was hooked and on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I knew what was happening and who could be trusted Micki totally threw me for a loop. That one moment changed everything.
This book has suspense and romance and everything in between that will have you hooked and not able to put it down until the very end. This isn't your typical girl goes off to school and falls for the popular guy story. This is a must read.
Chasing Jenna, is filled with twist and turns I was not expecting! Decept and lies followed Jenna. Jenna lived a horrible life after her mother was accidentally killed. The things she had to endure at the hands of her step father, no child should have to suffer with. She thought she was free when she went to college, but did she??? Hmmmm...that is for you to find out! No spoilers here. What a great and enchanting read! I highly recommend this story!!!!!!
Micki does it again. A fantastic book with such deep characters that the reader can get lost in. This book touches on some very real issues and it shows that people are stronger than they realize. I couldn't put it down!
Chasing Jenna is the first book that I have read by Micki Fredericks, and it is her second book. I have to say that I was a bit skeptical going into this book because while it sounded great, I wasn't sure that it would deliver being from a fairly new author. I have to say though that this book was a very pleasant surprise, and I really enjoyed it. It was so much more than I ever expected, and it kept me guessing the entire way through. This book was a bit dark and intense, but not so much so that I was overwhelmed. I am really looking forward to seeing what else Micki Fredericks does in the future.
Jenna Clausen finally has a chance to get out of the crappy life she had been given, and she is using this opportunity to start fresh. She left her mom and hometown and headed to college where she runs into the handsome Cale Davis. Cale is a part of a group on campus called The Brotherhood, in which you have to be born a member to join. While Cale has made it his mission to help Jenna settle into campus life, she has no idea what he is really looking for. He is friendly one minute and mysterious the next. When Cale has another member Ryan help her out, she finds herself growing close to him and soon Ryan and Jenna have become best friends. But both of them begin to feel more than friendship for one another, and that wasn't part of Cale's plan. Suddenly Jenna finds herself in the middle of a nightmare that she doesn't know how to get out of, and she fears that she won't be able to figure out who to trust.
At first I honestly didn't know what to make of Ryan or Cale. The members of The Brotherhood were all pretty mysterious and seemed to have more going on that met the eye. I found them all interesting, and I couldn't figure out which ones were good or who Jenna should trust. I loved Ryan though. He was sweet and got along great with Jenna from the start. He was helpful and caring, and he seemed to be looking out for Jenna always. He took care of her and you could see that he was protective of her. Cale was hard to read though and while I liked him at times, I also thought that he had some shady moments. He seemed to have mood swings and personality shifts, and he went beyond protective to downright possessive at times. I always thought that Jenna should be with Ryan, even when I did like Cale. Jenna had been through a lot and had some issues, which is why I loved Ryan with her. He was patient and kind, and he didn't ever push her beyond what she could handle.
I will say that while I did enjoy this story, the beginning started off a bit rough for me. It was a bit slow and hard to get into. I thought that it was confusing at first, and I had so many questions. I couldn't figure out what was going on, and I think part of that was that we were getting introduced to so many new characters and there were a ton of things going on to set up the story. But once I got into this one, I couldn't put it down! I can't really get into what happens without ruining it, but trust me when I tell you that it gets crazy and soon you won't know who to trust or what will happen. I am so glad that I gave this one a shot, and I would highly recommend it to those looking for a unique and different romantic suspense novel. I will definitely be looking for more from Micki Fredericks in the future as I was really impressed with her writing style and story telling.
Chasing Jenna was not at all what I expected. It was so much better. After I read the synopsis I thought ok this is going to be a triangle and we are going to have some angst. The author does give us that but she also throws in some pretty big suspenseful scenes and adds some darkness into this plot. I loved that I got so caught up in the characters and their stories that I did not pay attention to the clues. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. I was completely captivated with Jenna, Ryan and Cale.
Jenna is finally at college, miles away from her home and the town that holds terrible memories for her. This is a place she can start a new life where no one knows about her past life. On her first day of school she meets Cale. He is part of a fraternity called the Brotherhood, it is exclusive and only a few are members. The first time they meet, they are attracted to one another but because of her past she is not able to offer more. Cale and Jenna strike up a close friendship over the next couple of weeks skirting on their issues on having relationships. Cale introduces her to some of the members of the Brotherhood and enlists Ryan to help keep her safe.
Cale is a mysterious, gorgeous and has a lot of money. He acts like he wants to have a relationship with Jenna but he constantly refrains from taking it further. Cale and The Brotherhood have different plans for Jenna and he can’t jeopardize the promise he made. Cale only lives his life on campus when The Brotherhood dictates. After all it is in his bloodline, he has to follow the plans they’ve established.
Ryan is caring, observant and easy going. The more time he spends with Jenna the more she starts feeling like his. Ryan knows that Jenna feels like she belongs to Cale but he can’t help but feel like Jenna was meant for him. Ryan knows he made a promise to Cale and The Brotherhood but Jenna is slowly getting under his skin. The more he tries to push away from her the more he is drawn to her.
Ryan and Jenna’s closeness becomes an issue for Cale. Cale saw Jenna first and he intends to keep his vow. This is where it started to get confusing. I really had a hard time figuring out who was the right guy for Jenna. They both say and do the right things but as I was saying there is some darkness to this story so at that point I did not who the good or bad guys were. Not until up to the very end did I figure that out. The author did an amazing job with the plot. It was exciting, gripping and intriguing. When you get a story that grabs you and keeps you interested throughout the book where you aren’t picking up some things that should be obvious you know you’ve got a winner on your hands. This is an author you are going to want to take a chance on. I know I can’t wait for more from her. Pick this book up you will not regret it.
One of my favorite genres to read is dark romance – that’s no secret if you follow me or my reviews. I was sucked into this book by the intriguing prologue, the mysterious synopsis. While I did enjoy it, it didn’t quite make my list of favorite reads, which is not something I say lightly. The plot is ridiculously unique, the characters were relatable and endearing. The thing that held me back from completely falling in love with this story was the rushed sequence of events. For me, I needed a bit more detail on the bigger points of the story, a bit more in depth discussion around the darker secrets that were uncovered as we went along. Having said that, this is a book that is filled with shocking moments and edge of your seat suspense, all intertwined around a conflicting love triangle (also one of my fave things!).
Jenna Clausen is a girl ready to take risks. Leaving her hometown and enrolling in college on a scholarship – its her first step to building a life outside of the one she was handed. Growing up with a mother that was more like a child, left Jenna damaged and suffering from severe anxiety. I loved Jenna’s vulnerability, she was like a butterfly spreading its wings for the first time, eager to experience everything in the world. A chance run in with the handsome Cale Davis on her first day at school opens doors for her that she never imagined possible. As a senior member of ‘The Brotherhood,’ an elite member only club on campus – she can’t believe her luck that he is interested in someone like her, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks.
Ryan Kitson plays a key role in Jenna’s new life – what started out as an innocent friendship, quickly takes shape into something more the longer they are together. I thought that the struggle Jenna has as she juggles her feelings for these two boys was portrayed very well. The emotional indecision she faced as well as the ever present feelings of lust had the three of them circling each other like a kaleidoscope, I honestly wasn’t sure who would be the victor of Jenna’s heart. This book kept me guessing – the revelations were vast, the mystery and suspense are what kept me going all the way to the end of the book. The darkness that surrounds the super secretive Cale and his band of brothers were at times terrifying. The closer Jenna comes to the truth, the farther she is sucked into imminent danger.
This is a quick read, I would recommend it for anyone that is a fan of romantic reads intertwined with a spicy amount of danger. Micki Fredricks is definitely and author that I’ll be keeping my eye on for more of her work in the future.
I really have no words for this book and no I don't mean that in a bad way. I actually have way too many words for this book. When I first signed up to read this book, after reading the synopsis I thought I knew what this book was going to be about. But let me tell you it's not really what you think it is. This book is one of those 'Oh my god what is going on?' books. This book really was unpredictable, just when you thought you knew what was going on, author Micki Fredrick's would take you in the complete opposite direction. Chasing Jenna has so many twist and turns. I'm really trying sensor my review here and not give away any spoilers.
The characters in this book are very like able. I will say this and try not to give away too much. There are some characters in this book that you will like and by the end of the book you really shouldn't like. Than there are characters in the book that you may like but you think I really don't want to like them, but you can't help but like them. And I really hope that doesn't confuse anyone, but I think if you read this book you'll understand what I mean.
Let's talk about Jenna for a moment. I really felt for Jenna from the beginning of the story. I could even relate to her a little bit on just wanting to get away from the past and having a fresh start somewhere. Not trying to knock her or anything but for everything she's been through, she's a little naive about other things.
Alright this is where it gets tricky for me because usually I would talk about the guy in a book and say how much I love him. But here's the thing with this book there's 2 main guys in this book and hopefully without giving too much away. One is not what he really seems and the other one is not what I expecting.
Chasing Jenna was an unexpected gripping tale that author Micki Fredrick takes you through. There really is a life lesson to this story and it is 'Trust your instincts' if something or someone doesn't feel right, than it probably isn't. The story had a nice flow to it and was very discriptive. The author pulled me into the story and had me giggle at times, than yelling at the characters, than crying at others.
I give this story 4.75 Stars Out of 5 and would definitely recommend it. I can't wait to see what Micki Fredrick comes up with next!!!!
**Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this book from Love Between the Sheets for my honest review**
Not sure what to think I am still processing the book. this isn't bad in any way just there is alot going on in this book and it comes at you quickly. I am going to breakdown this into chunks.
Plot: interesting. Like the gothic dark feel to it. In essence Jenna is looking to start over away from her past and become successful. She is at college and hoping to forget. She meets Cale of the brotherhood and her world is sort of now upside down, sideways and just pretty much changed overnight. Ryan is now in the picture helping her with classes, finding her way etc. suddenly Cale wishes to sponsor her and give her everything. Ryan is in love with her and struggling with things about the brotherhood and the sponsorship. Jenna likes both Cale and Ryan and overwhelmed with the sponsorship and everything. The brotherhood is dark and secretive but also dangerous. Cale is a wolf in sheep's clothing. ryan is good, bad wonderful a ball of sexy smexy and sweet and so is his brother Marcus. As the danger for Jenna increases so do the secrets of the brotherhood. Jenna likes Ryan but wants to protect him as Ryan does her. Things come to a head and wowza is it explosive.
Writing: flows nicely. some areas need more description because sometimes there is jumping from concept to concept so fast your head spins.
characters; draw you in. Cale has you like him at first but as you see his true colours you realize how dangerous and evil he is. Ryan is so sweet and protective. You love him and than you are not so happy with him because of his actions in some cases such as when trying to get over Jenna or when he is trying to save her and has her believe he is the bad guy not good. Overall Ryan is amazeballs. Jenna is a lost young woman. Her past sometimes has her panic in situations but with help she gets through it. Overall she is likeable although when she is trying to protect Ryan you wonder why why not just tell him instead of causing so much heartache.
Overall it is a interesting book with a lot of twists and turns. Sometimes the twists come quickly and you are left reeling but they are I believe meant to. The author keeps you on your toes wondering what the Brotherhood is about, why is Cale so dang strange and what is up with ryan. You have questions and answers that will make your jaw drop but the book will keep you wanting to read on and find out what is going on. A good dark gothic romance suspense.
Chasing Jenna was fabulous! **I call DIBS on Ryan Kitson!!!** Had to get that out there. Sorry, ladies…I claimed him first. You’ll understand why when you read this book. ;)
This book is one of those where after you've finished reading, the story stays with you. You will replay some of the scenes back in your head wondering, did I even see that coming? I loved this book, and here are some significant reasons why:
► The author’s amazing ability to tell a story. It’s very well-written – you will find yourself lost in the pages, feeling as if you are a part of the story yourself. When you read this book, you will feel several emotions throughout – you will laugh, you will cry, you’ll get angry, you’ll get irritated & frustrated. And you will definitely lust over the hot guys – they are sexy! Get ready for a roller coaster ride!
► The unpredictability. You will not know what is going to happen next – I love that! Just when you think you have it figured out – wham! The story takes a turn and keeps you guessing.
► The characters – so real and likable. You can’t help but love them and want to hang out with them…and maybe even punch a couple of them. If an author can make you feel close and connected with the characters (very important!), then you are going to love the story that much more; that’s what you get with Chasing Jenna.
► The awesome storyline! This different & unique story will capture your attention from the very beginning, it will keep you turning page after page – wanting & needing to know what happens next.
I highly recommend this book to readers who are looking for a well-written story full of twists & turns that will have you devouring page after page. Five easy stars from me!
~~I received this in exchange for a honest review~~
This book is the first book that I have read by Micki. I can honestly tell you that it isn't going to be the last. This isn't your typical love story. There are so many twists and turns in this book that I couldn't help but keep reading. I had to know what was going to happen. This book grabs you at the beginning, and it holds on to you very loosely. But later in the book it holds on to you and the grasp that it has on you is strong.
This is a powerful book. The subject in this book is a first for me. I don't think I have ever read anything that actually made me scared for the main character. Chasing Jenna is a book that you need to read, you need to read it like your life depends on it. Everything isn't always what it seems. Things might be good looking on the outside, but ugly looking on the inside.
Micki has taken a subject that isn't widely known about and written about it beautifully. Yes, this is a work of fiction. And I am glad that it is. The emotion in this book that Micki coveys is strong. I was literally shaking because I was afraid for Jenna. I wanted to hurt the people that were hurting her. I wanted to physically jump in the book and take her away and never let her go back. If I had to put the book down, it was because I had to feed my children, or go play pool. But, that book was calling to me when I had it put down. It has been a long time since I have read a book that was calling out to me to continue to read it.
This was my first book by Micki Fredricks, and I really enjoyed it.
Jenna, the heroine, needed to move on from her old life and start a new beginning for herself at college. But after getting there, her life turns into something crazy and even more complicated than before! She meets Cale Davis.
Cale is a part of an elite house on campus called The Brotherhood. Cale is the poster boy prep. Cale gets what he wants and he wants Jenna. Cale has a master plan, but what he didn't plan on was Ryan Kitson. Ryan is the opposite of Cale. He is more of the bad boy type of guy. He becomes Jenna's study partner and then it escalates from there.
I had no idea which way this book was going to go. If I had all the time in the world, I would just sit and read- and that's what I wanted to do with this book. I wanted to make sure that all the characters turned out ok.
The premise was super original, it definitely had that going for it. It was well edited, the plot was well thought out, and the characters well developed. This is a romantic suspense novel so I was on the edge of my seat from the very beginning!
Um. I have no idea what I just read. I couldn't stop reading because I wanted to know what the hell the brotherhood was all about, but I really would have much to preferred to stop a few times towards the end. A few things:
1) Jenna was a crying MESS. So flipping annoying. She was so wishy washy and weak. I get she had a hard childhood, but MAN I just wanted to shake her sometimes to make up her own damn mind. For the amount of crap she was put through when she was younger, and how she claims that she does not trust people, she really REALLY DUMB and trusting of the wrong people!
2)The only characters I liked were Katie and Marcus -_- and maybe Ryan. sometimes. But he acted like an idiot at times as well.
3)This book started off so..normal...until it wasn't. I was seriously questioning what the hell I was reading by the end there. The storyline moved quickly but I was just like: 'huh? is this for real?' It was like the story was taking itself too seriously, it was almost comical.
A word of advice to all readers who have yet to read the book is that you should just plunge in. Do not read any reviews with spoilers because that can change or possible ruin the emotions that follow.
I was surprised that I didn't get left behind in the plot. Everything was so intense and suspenseful that my fingers continuously hovered, ready to turn the page so that I can continue the action.
With the plot moving and changing so fast, everything was weaved together splendidly making the whole book a more enjoyable experience.
I have read this book three times and loved it more each time. I am looking forward to reading it again soon. This book is well written with characters you can "feel"; she does such a great job making them real. It grabs hold of you from the beginning and doesn't let you go even after you are done reading. I want more and so will you when you have time to digest it all. #TeamRyan
What an amazing book. I started this book without any ideas as to what it was about. The way it starts I assumed it was a young adult type of book but the twist ending puts it square into my favorite genre: mystery and suspense. I didn't see the plot twists and turns coming. It was so enjoyable and I couldn't put it down.
My love of Micki Fredricks started with Pause and continued with Chasing Jenna. I went into this book kind of blind having no real idea what the storyline was. As I read about Jenna I thought this book may be about a girl with an unfortunate past who was getting a chance to better her life at College. Boy was I wrong! Chasing Jenna was so much more.
Enter two hot guys Cale and Ryan from The Brotherhood House. Is Jenna going to be pursued by two guys and is she is going to have a 'typical' College life? You will have to read to find out! Let's just say that Micki Fredricks is going to turn this story on its head and you will feel the creepiness all the way up your spine. Chasing Jenna has plot twists and turns that kept me flipping my Kindle pages to see what was going to happen next. I loved this story and this author's writing.
1000⭐ This book was phenomenal. I couldn't believe how much I was drawn in. The sad thing is even though it was fictional it truly does happen in the world and that is scary. This book shows you how you can truly get sucked into a world and never really know what is going on around you. The characters in this book were fantastic. The way things changed and how it played out was absolutely perfect. The description of this book gives nothing away of what it is truly about. I give props to this author for writing about something as tough as this topic. Like I said this book was phenomenal. I loved Ryan. I fell in love with him like Jen did. Fantastic. If I say more I will tell the whole book. So I would 100% recommend reading this!
good premise but I felt like the wrap up at the end was confusing and not as clear as I'd prefer. I think they author could have added a bit more drama and intrigue and stretched it out into a duet. Overall a good book.
A coworker recommended this to me, I had a little background to it due to her giving me some insight. But I definitely was intrigued right away even in the first chapter. Would definitely read it again.
The Brotherhood is similar to a fraternity wherein they are a house of extremely wealthy college boys who partake in community and fundraising events. They sponsor 4 girls each year and help them with payment of study materials, tuition and personal grooming. Underneath the façade it a more sinister and degrading situation The Brotherhood is involved in.
Jenna comes from a single parent family where her Mum always chose her ever revolving door of men over Jenna, which resulted in Jenna’s upbringing being a constant stream of physical and mental abuse from the men who want Jenna’s mum but not Jenna. In high school when Jenna should have been making friends, she spent her time working so she could help provide for living expenses. When she is granted a full scholarship to attend college, she jumps at the chance to do something better with her life and not be stuck in a rut and rely on a man like her mum has always done.
On her first day, she runs into Cale Davis, a high ranking member of The Brotherhood who takes her under his wing and they become friends. She starts to fall for him and despite his impression that he wants her, he tried to keep their relationship platonic. All the while, she has become friends with Ryan, who is a new Brotherhood member and who is in all of her classes. They become very close friends, study partners and slowly they also start to feel something towards each other but Ryan knows that nothing can ever happen as Cale has claimed her. Cale then asks if he can sponsor her and at first, Jenna is embarrassed and insulted but realises this is her chance to become something with her life.
Jenna is torn between Ryan and Cale and the resulting dramas involve murder, deceit, lies, secrets and Jenna is not sure what is really going on and what to believe. Take a ride in this mixed up world where the wealthy pray on the weak and helpless under the pretence of bettering their lives.
This is a fantastic story where nothing is at it seems and like Jenna, you don’t know who to trust and you are left battling your mind and your heart and all of your instincts are completely thrown off course.
I honestly loved all of the characters this book brought me. Ryan is just…wow, I can’t say any more. Cale gave me the creeps from the first introduction as he just seemed too preppy and something felt off. I cried for Katie and Marcus and what they had to endure. I LOVED THIS BOOK!
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Tanya.
Jenna is at college after a life of struggling financially and living through abuse at the hands of her mother's boyfriends. She has worked her whole life and gone through two years of community college and is now finally living the real college life. On her first day she meets Cale Davis who is a wealthy boy and a member of an elite organization called The Brotherhood. Jenna is very attracted to Cale, and he seems to be effected by her as well. Cale ends up making Jenna an offer that could change her life, and while she is concerned that it is too good to be true, she can't pass it up. Things start to get complicated, especially when she starts developing feelings for her friend Ryan, another member of The Brotherhood who has been her friend and study partner. Soon everything becomes confusing, including who Jenna can trust.
This story engaged me pretty quickly, and held my interest throughout. I definitely knew that something was going to happen, but I didn't know what. I don't want to talk mud about the story line, because I think going in blind is best with this book. Jenna was a character that was easy to like and connect to. After learning about her life before she college, I was really hoping that she would be able to find some freedom and happiness. My main disappointment with the book is that I would have liked a little more of everything. More character development, and definitely more story. I think there were so many interesting components to this story and I would love to know more about all of it. Things definitely took a dark turn, and I was kept guessing about who could be trusted and who couldn't. Overall, I enjoyed this book and would read more by this author in the future.

This book seriously messed with my mind. Ok what I expected to read and what I read were two totally different things.
This is Jenna's story. She is breaking from her past and going to college. Barely making it by, she is not your typical college student. From the first day, resident bad boy and fraternity leader Cale sets his eyes on her, but is hesitant to take it to the next level. But Cale's fellow brother, Ryan, befriends her in a class, he doesn't expect them to grow so close or for feelings to develop. Soon they become study buddies and best friends where lines begin to blur. And thus begins the trouble. Jenna is drawn to both. How do you choose? Or maybe fate has other plans...
When Cale decides to "sponsor" Jenna as a tradition where she receives financial and emotional assistance from his fraternity, her life is about to change and she will become a part of a sick and twisted game. When things start to happen and her life be, who can Jenna trust when it seems everyone is not who they seem?
ALL of the characters in this book play important roles and you don't realize how important until the very end. You can TRUST NO ONE. I did not expect that ending and it totally shocked me to the core. This book put me through the ringer is suspense and shock.
I really don't want to say more because I don't want to spoil the book. I will say that I totally didn't see it coming. I am hoping for another book in this story. I felt like the ending needed... MORE.
I received an ARC copy of this from the author when I offered to review it. It is about Jenna, a poor girl from a small town who grew up in an abusive home but is excited about going off to college away from her hometown. As she is moving in, some boys come by to help her with her things and show her around. Jenna and her roommate immediately fall for them and find out that The Brotherhood they belong to is not a fraternity, nor is it a house of nice guys who do volunteer work in the community like Cale told them it was. This shows how easily it is for girls to be deceived and misled. Jenna was used to going unnoticed, but since she started college, she has two guys clamoring for her.
This is a good story that would be good for teens to read. It is scary that this type of thing actually happens but I don’t want to ruin the book for you be saying too much. It has romance, suspense, action and mystery. I liked it because although I thought Jenna was a nut case and really didn’t care much for her, I was hoping she would be okay so the story kept my interest. (Karen's review)
This is about a young girl who goes to college and is befriended by two young men. For the first part of this there is a love triangle story where Jenna is torn between the two guys. The second part is more exciting because the action picks up. I understand that the first half sets the scene, but I thought dragged on too long but I loved the ending! It's well worth reading for sure, glad I stuck with it. (Gerard's review)
