Originally a librarian and secretary for her father, Adèle Louise de Leeuw loved writing from childhood and ultimatel wrote more than 75 books, in many different genres, and often collaborated with her sister, Cateau de Leeuw.
I liked this book, but I probably would not reread it. It was good, but not as interesting and enthralling as "The Blue Gonfalon." The story's main character was a run away apprentice who joined the crusade, but I didn't actually relate to him or like him that much. If you have to find a book to read about this time period, I would suggest "the Blue Gonfalon" or "Crusader King." It was an okay book, though.
