Sloan and Ferris thought their engagement would be the start of a beautiful chapter, but Ferris’s overbearing mother, Kate, has other plans. From sabotaging wedding events to causing tension between the couple, Kate’s constant interference threatens to tear them apart.
Ferris’s sister, Jenny, tries to be a lifeline, but with every boundary they set, Kate pushes harder. Wedding planning was supposed to be stressful—but not like this. If Sloan and Ferris don’t take a stand now, there may not be a wedding left to save.
Will they finally put Kate in her place and make it down the aisle, or will the drama be too much for their love to handle?
This was a cute quick read, maybe even a good beach read. I almost felt as though parts of this story were reflective of my life when I got engaged and even before. I could totally relate to Sloan ad I went through similar situations- so this book may be fiction in nature but these situations do happen. I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5 because Cal’s timeline doesn’t add up. I do not want to give spoilers away, but the author does reference days or so for one character while Cal only goes through one or two days. Other than the timeline inconsistency, this is overall a good book.
If you’re looking for a book to read in one sitting-this is the book!
I don’t usually read romcoms, but I do love wedding drama and this did not disappoint! It’s a quick read, but Innis created characters that you can easily love and hate without needing much of their backstories, which is a rare feat! Im officially hooked on the Ferris and Sloane stories and can’t wait for more from Christa Innis!
I get to brag and say I’m friends with the author :) but this story was such a fun one. The genuine, caring, and gentle love between Ferris and Sloan, the loyalty of Jenny, the over-the-top but believable antics of Kate, and of course all the minor characters… such a drama-filled story with a perfect ending. I can’t wait for book 2!
I had found Christas' content on TikTok as she was doing her skits. When I found out that she had written a book I was really excited to read it since her skits are always so good!
Here Comes The Drama: A Ferris & Sloan Story is about two young people who are trying to navigate their relationship from dating into marriage with an unbearable Mother-In-Law. They have to figure out how to set boundaries, how to get the things that they want when those boundaries aren't respected, and how to have a successful relationship in the face of adversity. Or rather an adversary that comes in the form of Sloan's MIL.
Overall the story line is pretty good if you haven't seen any of Christas' skits on social media. It's quirky and clips right along. However, if you've seen the skits, then this is the same thing just in book form. I will admit that Christa changed a few details around, like what happens with Callum and his girlfriend. Overall though, there's not enough changes to really warrant buying the book in my personal opinion. If you've seen the skits, you already know how the story goes.
To add to matters the book was riddled with typos, grammatical errors, and punctuation mistakes. While I usually don't mind a few (I'm no saint in these areas.) There was enough that it really distracted from the story. There were several places where pronouns were wrong, or words seemed to be missing all together.
To wrap it all up, the ending was really slapped together by the author and felt extremely rushed. She had numerous places where she wrote things like "It's now two weeks before the wedding" or "It's now the wedding day" rather than having a half a page or so, to transition between times and events in order to make the reading experience seamless.
I understand that for independent authors, all the proofreading, and editing can be a challenge. I really think Christa has a great ability for creativity and making great stories, but if she writes another book, I hope she slows down a little bit and makes sure its great before releasing it. Also, having something original (not seen in the skits or podcast) would be even better. If it was a story that I couldn't get ANYWHERE else in her content, only in the book, I would really be willing to overlook more of the editing issues. I think she has a lot of promise to do great things, I just really hope that if she continues writing, that she gives it the focus that it deserves. As an avid reader, there's nothing I hate worse that a book that feels rushed and slapped together.
As the very last note, this book could be read by just about anyone. Teens included.
This book is really cute, easy to read, and fun - I followed the skits which were so fun to watch! I like how this followed that popular couple.
A couple of things I wished the book had was more character depth, every person is just a surface “good character “ or “bad character “. There were scenes as a mother especially at the beginning that I felt for Ferris’ mom - like being on a private vacation during Christmas, Christmas is a very traditional all family being together time. I get her being upset by that, they could have picked any other time.. and her booking a trip to be with them is extreme but still understandable. She was just immediately cast as a villain even though something that most moms would be upset by happened. As the book progresses however my empathy for her definitely changed but I kept thinking this woman can’t possibly be like this for every thing, people aren’t that clueless, and she has to have redeeming qualities with the amount of friends and closeness of the family and that wasn’t really discussed. Now it could be because the main subject was Sloan so she only saw all the bad and none of those other qualities? It just felt very black and white even with giving additional chances for everyone..
Fantastic book and so glad I followed this author on her skits and wow defo read

I follow Christa on social media and LOVE watching her skits, so I preordered this as soon as I could. I am in between series and it was the perfect palate cleanser. Even though I've seen all the skits, I still found myself getting caught up in all the drama, and I couldn't put it down. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I couldn't imagine the characters in any way except as Christa with hats, sunglasses, or headbands to differentiate the characters. I even reread the character descriptions and still couldn't picture them as described. With that being said, I still loved it and hope the way the bonus scene ended means there are more to come!
I have been watching the Ferris and Sloan story since it came up on my FYP on TikTok. I loved the skits, and I love this even more. Having the extra details and getting to read some of my favorite scenes with more description and depth was amazing. Also love that Grace turned to Gretchen personally, suits her way better 😂. I hope that part 2 and 3 get their own books as well and will be eagerly watching the skits and hoping. You are so talented and hope to see more Ferris and Sloan in book format in the future!
I’ve been following Christa Innis on TikTok and fell in love with her Ferris and Sloan skits, so I was thrilled to see she turned them into a novel—and it did not disappoint. Here Comes the Drama is filled with chaotic family dynamics, sharp dialogue, and so much emotional depth.
The tension is real, the drama is wild, and the characters are unforgettable. Christa brings the same wit and charm from her TikToks to every page. I flew through it and already want more Ferris and Sloan in my life! Highly recommend.
3.75⭐️ I’ve followed the Ferris and Sloan story on tik tok since the beginning. So, seeing it come to life more in the book was so fun. And obviously easy to follow along since I’ve seen it on tik tok. Seeing more details of the story added such depth and I’m happy to say that I’ve got to follow along. Hoping for another book to continue the rest of the story line the way it is on tik tok!
I have followed Christa for some time and count down for the next release in her skits. I was addicted from the start to Ferris and Sloan. The skits were amazing and I kept saying, this NEEDED to be a book or a series of books. Christa did not let us down one bit taking her skit and making it into a book. I can only pray for many more books (and skits) from Christa! Keep writing and acting!!!!
I really enjoyed watching the skits on TikTok when she announced she would be releasing a book that went more into detail I just knew I wanted to read it. I really enjoyed the extra details. It made the characters feel more real. I can’t wait to see if she releases more books along with skits. Thank you for the fun read!
I’ve followed Innis on social media for some time, enjoying all the Ferris and Sloan skits that eventually became this book, and I was so excited to read it! More detailed, it tells a story that most brides can feel deep down in some sense. I hope there is another one coming, because it wasn’t enough! Definitely read it this summer!
Just as I waited for the next skit on social media, I waited for the arrival of this book. Now that I’ve read it, I cannot wait for what the ‘next chapter’ brings with Ferris and Sloan - not to mention Jenny! Please please please, put your magic story telling brain on and give us book 2!
Read on vacation. The story itself was cute, very predictable but I enjoyed it for a vacation read.
It did feel like the book was published prematurely, like it needed more editing. From what I understand the author is viral on TikTok from skits of this story, so maybe it was rushed to capitalize on that.
If you’ve watched the Ferris & Sloan skits, this book makes everything click. Every side story adds so much depth to the chaos, and Christa’s storytelling is just so good. I genuinely loved getting inside each character’s head. Can’t wait for the sequels!! 👏👏
I probably finished this book in record time of a couple hours. So excited and much anticipation to read this after the great skit online. Loved all the extra details and now anxiously waiting the second book!! Great job Christa and congrats!
Super quick and fun read. I watched all the skit scenes on TikTok over the years so this was so fun to read again and it was written so well. I would love to see more from Christa whether it be from more well none skits or something completely new!
such a fun read! Even if you've seen the skt videos, You gOTTA read this! Crista has added details that make the story even better! Perfect book to cozy up with when you're stressed out.
if you're getting merried consider giving the paperback as your bridesmaid gift!
This book was so good. I follow the author on TikTok and have seen the skits it's based on from episode one. To have the book to read has been so special and such a wonderful experience. Can't wait for the sequel!
I love the TikTok skits and was so excited to read the first season in book form and it didn't disappoint! Grab your copy now! Christa, I'm so proud of you!
I wish I would have read this before watching the skits because it’s a good story line, I just already knew what was going to happen. I do love the Ferris and Sloan storyline and am interested in seeing if the second/third season will be turned into a book?
This was so fun! I've followed the Ferris and Sloan stories on Facebook for a while, and to actually be able to read it while visualizing the characters was soooo cool! I can't wait for the next story to come out!
I absolutely loved the book! I’ve watched the skits on TikTok and wanted to read the book as well. I really enjoyed the book just as much as I enjoyed watching the skits. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
Loved the book! I truly enjoyed the characters and the very colorful descriptions. It was so chill and relxing to read, cozy story, very heartfelt. It was a joy to read. Can't wait for more from the author.
