This contemporary tame enemies-to-lovers second chance, off-limits romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building and characters that are alpha, male, detective, captivating, and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with mystery, romantic suspense, fate and danger brought Cassie Evans and I back together, after thinking I'd never see her again, she's a hurricane of ambition and beauty, fiercely irresistible, we're as forbidden as fire and ice, yet our chemistry sizzles, as I delve deeper into my undercover mission, I see past her bravado to the woman who can heal my battered soul, this runs thin as desire and duty clash, pushing us toward the inevitable explosion, drama, heartfelt emotions, just as our world is on fire, , Cassie's caught in the crosshairs of danger, standing on the brink of a revelation that could shatter our fragile bond, secrets threaten, and every misstep is a knife-edge risk, I'll risk it all to save her, to shield her from the storm that threatens to drown us both, suspense that will leave readers on the edge of their seats, danger, action, adventure, and more. Allow two days (or an exceedingly long one) for this fast-paced, action-packed contemporary(?), urban, adult, broken-family, forbidden enemies-to-lovers, psychological, science-fiction, mystery procedural, second-chance romantic thriller that starts in New York City and dashes around the world to prevent worldwide psychological control. Not recommended if the current world situation is already giving you nightmares.

The characters in this novel are very believable. They're not entirely real, as in there are aspects of them that are fantastical, but they're not so far removed from reality that I found it difficult to empathize with them. The world-building was great too. The story is very immersive. I found it hard to put it down, and I think I read the whole thing in about 1 sitting.

Welcome to the most amazing romance book ever by Daisy. This romance book has the best suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time you are reading this book. I wish there was a way I could give this book more than just a 5/5 stars but since I can't I strongly recommend you read this book, or any others written by Daisy. You will thank me.

Elena discovered a gruesome scene. The detective on scene was Alex. They had a past. One where he arrested her. Now they’re back in each others orbit and there’s so much tension between them. He wants to protect her. Their connection is undeniable.

Fate brings Cassie and James together. On an under cover mission the two find that each is the others rock.
This is another fast paced, full on action, danger around every corner and heat and romance.
Strong characters full of secrets and fire.
