Breshia’s world comes crashing down around her when the leader of her lion shifter pride deems her ready to bear a cub. When the mate chosen for her turns out to be the man she loathes, she runs for her life to the sanctuary of Hells Canyon. If she can beg mercy and find her place among the legendary clan of bear shifters there, she just might survive the wrath of her people.
Dillon McCain is dead-set on never claiming a mate, but when a submissive lion shifter stumbles into his clan, he’s forced to make a drastic decision to save her from the man she’s running from. If getting to know this shy and alluring stranger isn’t hard enough, she goes into heat, complicating everything further. And if he chooses to give into Breshia’s needs, he’ll deepen their bond and throw his people into the crosshairs of the Portland pride.
Love or his clan—either way, Dillon’s choice could alter the fate of the Hells Canyon shifters forever.

I skimmed most of the books of this series, but I really liked this one. I’m not sure if it’s because the previous 5 books I'd read either had cheating, or abandonment content, but this one really pulled at my heartstrings. I loved Breshia; she’s been through horrible abuse, but was still brave, kind and loving. She starts the book very submissive, but finds her confidence by the end. Dillon was supportive from the start, and I really bought into their romance. This book also puts to rest the big threat that’s been lingering since Book 2.
Bottom Line- This is a sweet one with a damaged heroine, and her loving mate.
I try to express only my most honest opinion in a spoiler-free way. Unfortunately, there is still always a risk of slight spoilers despite my best efforts. If you feel something in my review is a spoiler please let me know. Thank you.
This has got to be one of my favorite books from the whole series so far. I couldn't put it down. Read from 18% till the end in one sitting. It was absolutely enthralling. I don't what it was exactly about this book that held my attention so much more than the others, but I'm hoping the last book of this series will be just as amazing.
Really liked this couple. The h has been abused and runs to Hell's Canyon to ask for sanctuary. She's believes she has little value to offer and expects the worst. The H is a fighter and when he rescues her he expects to send her on her way. Loved their story and how they learn from each other.
I highly recommend this book but please read them in order. Better to understand all the characters, their personalities and relationships. I can't wait for this last book even though I'll be sad. I was hoping to see Abigail grown and perhaps give Samuel his happily ever after, thus uniting the clans and the prides, and increasing the prides' chances of survival. Whew! Forgive the running sentence but I had to get it out.
Breshia, a Lioness shifter who was devasted when the leader of her pride (Shira) decided that she was ready to have a baby. The man that was chosen for her was someone that she detested so she did what she had to do. She ran seeking sanctuary from the Hells Canyon Shifters. She got injured yet that didn't waver her in her quest.
Dillon McCain, a Bear shifter, best-friend and second-in-command of the Alpha of the Hells Canyon Bear Clan. He wasn't looking for a mate, no let me rephrased that, he was dead set on never claiming a mate. But all his protests were thrown out the window when he met the sexy, shy and beautiful stranger who'd just showed up at Bron cousin Ethan's (AVENGE THE BEAR) campsite.
Dillon was right to save Breshia ftom Bear's act. They saw her injuries and decided to take her tk see Muriel but things didn't work out as he tought. Reese make sure that he was tge one to take care of their uninvited guess. There was something about the woman that made him feel uneasy. He was ready to send her back where she came from, things took a very interesting turn.
Being claimed by Dillon was the best thing that could ever happen to Bre and vice versa. They got to know each other better and she showed the Hells Canyon shifters that she was realy there for sanctuary. As time passed they saw her as family, she vowed to protect baby Abigail with her life and she kept that promise.
When Shira and the rest of her minions came gor Abigail, the Hells Canyon and the Seven Devils Clans showed them the error of their ways. Not only did Bre find sanctuary, the fates rewarded her with a mate, people she loved as family and a new purpose.
Loved catching up with old characters, meeting new ones and enjoying the growing friendship, mtual respect and admiration between the characters. Dillon got the mate, he didn't know he wanted until fate stepped in.
CLAIM THE BEAR is the fourth book in T. S. Joyce's HELLS CANYON SHIFTERS series. It was exhilarating, breathtakingly alluring and fascinating. Another masterpiece by T. S. Joyce. Two thumbs up!
Here is why TS Joyce is an automatic one click buy: 1) She writes from the heart. 2) She writes about the feelings we have experienced at some point in our life. 3) Finally, at the end of every book is a little bit of wisdom with a whole lot of happy ending. Dillon and Bre were perfect for each other in a broken, not really, but perceived by themselves kind of way. You'll enjoy this book for the intense feelings it will provoke within you. You'll enjoy this book for the love the characters will create within you. In addition, you will love this book because we all have shit, but theirs is worse than our own. Happy reading!
Nearing her heat cycle and scheduled to be force mounted by the pride’s top hunter but cruelest male, submissive lioness Breshia is terrified but manages to escape what she’s certain will be a miserable experience and life to the only place she might find sanctuary… Hells Canyon. But she’s being chased and is nearly shoved off a mountain.
Though he wants the same happiness his friends have, Dillion McCain hasn’t been able to find a sow in either bear clan and only intervenes to stop a berserking alpha from making kibble of the dainty lioness. Dillion softens at her story but realizes she could be a threat to his clan’s bear-lion cub. Is she a spy? His heart doesn’t care. Rating: 4stars
Awesome series unique challenge solved in each story but also a series epic battle finally.
Bre HSS had 24 years of horrific life but she is a survivor and stronger for it. She risk everything g to do the right thing live. Dillon has helped his clan become stronger but he takes a chance that puts his entire clan at risk...shifter romance very moving! Violence2, sex2

Interesting to see more lions brought in...but seems to fit given the general arc of the series. A protagonist that is a submissive is interesting since most of the couples involve dominant, or at the very least assertive/independent heroines. But you really feel for what Breshia has been through and she seems a great match for Dillon, who I'm glad to see settled.
Wao! This series just get better and better!!!!! Totally in love with Bre and Dillon. They are so perfect for each other. T.S.Joyce! You did it again!!!! Highly recommended
I LOVE these books!!! It’s all about the hope and the happy and family, and I’m all for that. Trust is a huge thing for me. One has to trust in order for all the other things to fall into alignment. I get it. Thank you for clarifying that for me.
Breishia and Dillion’s story was wonderful. Loved how abused submissive Brie was slowly brought out of her usual self protective shell under Dillion’s love and encouragement. Favorite scene was the bridge, close was the gathering at the end.
The story is quick & predictable, but still really satisfying. The sexy times are hot. The romance is sweet. It all happens a bit fast, but that’s how it goes for shifters, right?
LOVED this one! What an idea! I never would have thought that pairing would work. But its almost like the chaos and the calm bled well together. Then there is that whole Lion pack issue!
I love when Muriel says she is “a chronic food burner!”
Amazing. Loved this book. T. S. Joyce always delivers amazing books. This was the best book in the series so far. Strong men/shifters and amazing people.
Breshia is a Lion Shifter from The Portland Clan, is running for help to the Bells Canyon Shifter and the Seven Devil's Clan. Dillion Mc Cain is her fated mate.
