While it starts off gently it quickly plunges into a thrilling kidnapping but for what purpose?
Emma and Joel and their daughter have rented a cottage for a few nights away. Joel is a bank manager. We do not immediately know Emma's profession. Two masked men break into the cottage and take them captive. They call themselves Jekyll and Hyde. Initially, it appears that their motive is robbery when they dispatch Joel to rob his own bank.
Emma gets a call from work. She is needed back at work. The person substituting for her has broken his leg, she is told. Surprisingly her captors are ok with her going back to work. Then we learn that she is the manager of a prison. They want her to orchestrate the escape of a major criminal.
Then ensues a game of cat and mouse as Emma appears to be following their instructions but trying to figure out how to free her family while convincing the gangsters that she is arranging the escape of their boss.
Things turn topsy turvy when police officers show up at the cottage by coincidence and get shot. Hyde is a vicious brute but Jekyll has a softer side.
To say more would spill the beans. Overall it is an intriguing plot, well developed with lots of surprises along the way.
