Finding Our Forever

Rate this book
Mystic Veil is a small but growing town in Northwest Lower Michigan. There is a close sense of community for all the inhabitants, humans and Others alike. Some Others have integrated into society much more quickly. But several had a much more difficult time blending.

I've landed my dream job at Beyond the Veil Cyber Tech. It falls into that category for many reasons. Great pay, fantastic benefits, room for growth, supportive company culture, and a beautiful location. It's in Mystic Veil, several hours away from my family so I can finally get away from their toxicity. What I didn't expect was to make the best friends I've had in my life and fall in love with the most caring man. It doesn't hurt that he's hot, built, and encourages me to explore not only my career dreams but all of my fantasies, too. No matter how kinky my fantasies are or what gender the person in the fantasy is.

I recently moved to Mystic Veil at the urging of my longtime best friend Andrew. I hope this move is everything Andrew has talked it up to be. He says that I can just be myself and maybe even find love. If I'm really lucky, I'll find a bond mate. I'm tired of being lonely and ever since I saw how the love of a bond mate completely changed my buddy's life, it's all I've wanted. As an incubus, I'm open to my mate being any gender, or even being more than one person. Can I find this in Mystic Veil?

In the town of Mystic Veil, many of the occupants are Other—werewolves, incubi, and other creatures that may seem human, but aren’t. Crystal (“Chris”) is a human working for a cybersecurity company. Single, heartbroken, and full of insecurities, Chris reluctantly agrees to attend a night of speed dating organized by her friends. Little does she know that she will connect with a hot man named Jarrell—but he has a secret that may challenge their budding relationship.

This book is LGBTQ+, kink, and poly positive. I also enjoyed reading about Chris and Jarrell, and how Chris became more comfortable in her own skin and self-confident during the book. It sets itself up for future romances (e.g., with her friends). I did wish the conflict had been more intense, though. It felt like the conflict ended prematurely, with a long epilogue-equivalent.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and look forward to future stories in the Mystic Veil world.

Great book. This was about Chris. She moved to Mystic veil to start over. She had a toxic family. She interviewed and got the job at Beyond the Veil Cyber tech. She was hired for the executive assistant position working for Andrew who owned the company. She made great friends in Morgan and Beth. Mystic Veil was known for the Others. Which were basically people that had inhuman traits. Morgan asked Chris to go out with her and Beth one night for a speed dating event. Morgan knew she would hit it off with Jarrell. She invited him too. Turns out she was right. They were inseparable after that first night they met.

Currently in my PNR era (which im not usually into) thanks to this book. It’s not like any other book I’ve read. The world created was phenomenal. I just wish it was longer (pun intended).

I love that Chris finally found her man, and that Jarrell is so perfect for her. I was rooting for them from the bling dating party lol.

I can’t wait to read more from this author cause this monologue was amazing!
