Funny, light and trivial (besides consisting of trivia). Most of the information here is meant to shock or surprise, but some of it is genuinely useful historical info.

I read it because of my interest in pub quizzes (it's a good source of inspiration for making questions), but also because it's entertaining. All in all it was a nice read.

I love List books. They are the perfect "genre" for me to read in bed. I've read and enjoyed a few books by Shaw in the past. I enjoyed this one, but found my self skipping huge chunks. Many of the topics in this book are repeats you see in many other list books. This was a little disappointing as far as list books go, but Shaw's writing and humor are both strong. Don't think I'll reread this one, but I'm still glad I bought it

Actually pretty funny

This book of list is actually pretty funny in its own way. Now some people may not have as warped a sense of humor as I have. I found most the entries in this book to funny not a laugh a minute funny, but funny in how people can act at times. Now don't think there are not some gross items in this book because they are many of them. I would not recommend this book to very young people because there are somethings in here that are best left to finding out about in young adulthood. What I mean this is not a book of trivia for those lead proper and morally upright lives it is for those, who can laugh at someone's shortcomings and not be offended by what you have read. If you like your trivia with a little grossness and slightly bisque then check this one out.

mixed reviews over here. many patches were too tasteless, too random, and the book was too long. also, seeing as there were portions with quotes, many more of those quotes should have been from more well- known people.

otherwise, this book was surprising, sometimes shocking, and remotely entertaining. maybe a nice coffee table book? interesting find.

This took me a lot longer to get through than I had expected, mostly because there isn't a plot to compel you to keep coming back to it. Lots of interesting facts about history, though!

This really is a mammoth book, and the lists herein really are outrageous and tasteless. Hard to put down, but often hard to read if you are trying to enjoy a meal. Full of curious facts, memorable quotes, and general weirdness.
