This small town, single dad romance was a sweet and entertaining read. I found it easy to get invested in the lead characters and enjoyed getting to know their friends and family. Spencer and Kade reconnected as teacher and parent in the same small town they'd gone to high school together in. Their relationship started out rocky, with Spencer unleashing his pent up anger at how Kade's old high school friends had bullied him. It took the two of them some time to work through that conflict, but once they did their romantic relationship sparked to life naturally. I was pleasantly surprised by how low angst their journey was once they started dating, and I thought the ending was really adorable.

You really feel this one. Kade and Spencer had history from when they were in high school. When Kade returns to town with his young son, old feelings are stirred up. Kade, is a firefighter. His job has risks and families of firefighter live with the risks and fears when a firegighter is hurt. Kade and Spencer meeting again do not generate all good feelings. The lines of communications are blurred, until they aren't. Good story where Kade and Spencer get to know each other again. One of Nicole's author gifts is the depth she brings to her characters and the lives they lead and the growth they navigate as they move forward. Kade and Spencer are delightful men. Well done! I rceived an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
