Not to be crude, but… they need to fuck. We’re on volume 6! The sex already happened in volume 1 of Sweat & Soap and volume 5 of What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? There’s zero reason for the holdup considering the relationship has lasted this long without problems.

Why is the secondary couple having so much sex?!? 😭 I’m sorry, but this comic has not shied away from erotic jokes so my complaint isn’t unreasonable.

Series Review: One of my favorite manhwas/graphic novels of all time. Just pure rom-com brilliance.

Gorgeous, sexy, hilarious and featuring such a heartwarming romance—for both the leads and the side characters—it truly is a delight to read. Despite following many of the typical Korean drama tropes (chaebol/poor girl, fake dating, love triangles, etc.) the plot was fast-paced, witty and just so, so beautiful to look at, reinventing those tropes into a positive story as a whole. The side characters were given just as much attention and love as the leads, which is always great, and each couple followed their own unique paths that were equally interesting to read. I really hope the physical books are translated into English because this is a story that I want to keep for constant re-reads in my library.

Like . . . just admire the pretty with me, y'all.

Seriously makes me laugh. so cute and we got jealousy from both sides in this volume which I eat up. It didn't make either of them mean to the other person. They just confronted the person they thought was making a move on the other (their relationship is still a secret so others don't know about it) And I love our secondary couple.

Still a lot of fun, but this volume seemed like an "in between" part of the story. The "threat" to Hari and Tarmu's relationship is pretty low with Yoon. The only new depths we really see, in terms of character, is how Taemu gets jealous, which admittedly is pretty funny. The characters are more in a holding pattern with their relationship than moving back or forth. Again, still fun, but not as interesting as prior volumes.

So far, this is the weakest volume in this series. I loved vol. 1-4 and vol. 5 was good too, but this one was kind of boring. I stated in my review for vol. 5 that I would have liked it more if Hari wasn't so obsessed with her boyfriend to the point that she can't bear not seeing him for even one day and that I hate those kinds of couples. I also said that it's why I'm not as big a fan of the secondary couple. It's basically that, only 10 times worse. It kind of feels like when I read the last few volumes of Horimiya. I loved it in the beginning but once they were an official couple, things got boring and annoying, and also that both these series should be shorter because they clearly didn't know what to do after the main couple got together. I don't even know if I want to preorder vol. 7 because of how lackluster this volume was. Before I read this volume (technically I'm reading the web comic since the physical version of vol. 6 won't be out in English until next month, which I have preordered and I won't cancel it since I didn't hate it and I don't know what to do about the rest of the series yet), I immediately preordered the new volumes as soon as I found out they were up for preorder, but now which vol. 7, I can't do it.

I liked Taemu x Hari but now they are so lovey dovey it's boring and annoying. I am happy that they're finally together, but there are fictional couples who get together and are still interesting but it's also one of the reasons why I like books with unhealthy couples since they always keep it interesting. I also like couples who tease each other a lot. These two and Hari's friend in her relationship are so boring and sickly sweet that you could get diabetes from reading these last two volumes. These kinds of relationships are great in real life (though unrealistic), in books and shows, they're boring.

The last four volumes in this series better be way more entertaining than whatever this was. To be honest, at this point, I just want this series to end, it's starting to overstay it's welcome. Even the author forgot that Taemu Kang has already been jealous of Hari's old crush in the beginning of this series since they made a big deal about him getting jealous for the first time in this volume (they're wrong, it was not the first time, it was actually a few volumes ago). When the author even forgets what they wrote that they end up writing something that's not true according to the character and even the editors don't pick up on it, it's very strange and shows that they either didn't know what to do after the two became an official couple or they didn't plan the story well, then again maybe they're the same thing. Another thing that annoyed me was that throughout this series, they keep saying "make history" instead of lets have sex or we had sex. I know that this is a young adult series (even though the main characters are in their late 20s and early 30s) but even teenagers know about sex and many have even done it. I'm so tired of them being afraid to say sex and just constantly saying stuff like this, no one talks like this! It sounds like a joke, juvenile and cringey. I can't keep a straight face when I see this anymore, it's so stupid. I'm so tired of this. Can we start normalizing it being ok to say sex instead of replacing it with stupid things in books that are 14+? Some American novel writers aren't afraid to do that. If it's the author who's afraid, grow some balls and just do it, you will look less ridiculous and if it's the web comic platform, then know your audience, little kids aren't reading this stuff and teenagers learn about sex in school and on the internet (I'm not exactly sure about nowadays but we did learn about it in school a few years ago), they're not as naive as people think they are! We need to stop treating them like 10 year olds and show them some respect (the fact that this made me stand up for teenagers is crazy). Whoever is doing this, whether it's the author or the translator embarrassed themselves in this series. Even if you don't want to use sex, just say sleep together, it's not nearly as bad and people do actually talk like that in real life.

In Summary
Now that Hari and Taemu are truly a dating couple, Taemu gets to shine as Hari’s boyfriend extraordinaire. He may not have been in a relationship before, but he’s quickly wearing down Hari’s resolve not to talk marriage. He’s also making it impossible for Secretary Yoon to be a real rival for Hari’s affections. But even if Yoon doesn’t create a love triangle, he does the job in showing what happens when Taemu sees another guy getting too close to his girl.

The Review
The previous volume ended with Yoojeong using her connections to cause trouble for Sungwoon Corporation. Her rationale of making Sunghoon hers via his loyalty to his employer feels far-fetched. Ultimately though, it creates a situation where Yeongsuh’s dad gets to see the strength of Sunghoon’s character, and Yeongsuh uses the opportunity to strike a deal to get her father to accept their relationship. Once that is done, the crisis evaporates in quick fashion for what was supposed to be a corporate-sized catastrophe.

With that, our two main couples enjoy several chapters of romantic bliss. Now that Taemu and Hari are done lying to one another, Taemu can earnestly devote himself to the task of convincing Hari that he is the one for her. Thus, they have a picnic date, a midnight stroll on the beach, and the obligatory boyfriend-taking-care-of-his-sick-girlfriend chapter. In short, tons of warm and fuzzy moments.

On the sidelines, we do have substitute secretary Yoon trying to make advances on Hari. However, Hari is not at all interested, and Yoon, unlike Yoojeong, is just an ordinary guy. So no love triangles here. Thus, poor Yoon mainly serves to spark Taemu’s jealousy so we can see him get territorial about his girl.

Jealousy also sparks over Yeongsuh. However, it’s not Sunghoon getting territorial; rather, Hari’s brother Hamin gets het up upon learning about Yeongsuh’s engagement. The narrative has hinted about his crush on Yeongsuh, and now he gets his very own arc about it. When he takes off running, I thought it would at least lead to a confession. It didn’t. Overall, the arc was a let down because Hamin doesn’t actually do anything and there are no alternate love prospects for him either.

The volume closes with the introduction of a new female character who I’m guessing will cause trouble in Taemu and Hari’s relationship. Hari has spent most of this volume getting spoiled by Taemu’s love and affection, so they’re due for a bit of turbulence.

I am enjoying the new moniker for Taemu as the Grim Reaper. Justice was swift with more work for our new secretary Mr. Yoon with too much time on his hands. Poor guy, never stood a chance. Granted, he's just a guy who saw a pretty girl and misinterpreted her looking at Taemu as looking over at him. Hopefully, he finds someone too because he seems very nice and thoughtful. Just not dripping with sex appeal like Taemu.

I'm giving this four stars because the villainess is just so evil and stupid. I get it, you wanted Mr. Cha. But do you really think trying to tank his company is going to get him to come to you? Also, would you even want someone forced into a relationship with you not out of love? Just the villain is very flat for me.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. But I'm also with one of the top comments. Like wow, the restraint. They really need to hit it and "make history" as they call it. I hope Hari figures out her feelings for Taemu soon.

Series plot: After Ha-ri goes on a blind date for a friend, she ends up pursued by said date, CEO Taemu Kang, who won't take "no" for an answer to a marriage proposal.

Hijinks and hilarity, romance and sweetness. I loved the whole series deeply. It was a light treat to read, that left me feeling warm and fuzzy. No high stakes or saving the world. No major conflicts, just popcorn for an overworked brain. The art was a gorgeous treat, to boot. I loved how the characters were drawn. Every character was fun and unique (Grandpa, in particular, always made me grin).

Unfortunately, since I read this episodically through the Tapas app (in English), I can't review each individual volume on its own plot and merits, so I'm doing one review to cover the whole thing.

Me giving every single one of these 5 stars, because they are my comfort series at this point and I love them so much.
Listen, I did not think I would keep liking both couples as much as I do, but here we are.
Hari and Taemu are adorable, even when they are unreasonably jealous. Don't we love when authors don't milk a simple miscommunication for drama?
Yeongsuh and Sunghoon are also cutie pies. I love how in love they are and how uncomplicated their romance is now. Feared we were approaching an unnecessary love triangle with Hamin, but nope. Just a little side quest and then bliss again.
That very last page, though. I feel drama approaching and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
