Death By Detention
A English teacher and her pet Golden Retriever go on vacation to write a novel. They end up in the middle of a live murder mystery. A local town person who is strongly opposed to a big development project is murdered on the dock where they are staying. The suspect list is short, her friend where she is staying and possibly her! The characters are interesting and the story line is intriguing. I loved how she and the Golden retriever find clues the local police couldn’t. Solving the mystery is very dangerous. Will they be able to solve it and clear her friend before the murder get them. Will she write her book. Reading this book was a treat.

This is the first book in the series. The main characters Fern and Olivia. Fern has her friend come to the lake where she lives to spend the summer. Olivia is a teach so she has the summer off and agrees to come. the day after she shows up, Olivia finds a body by Fern's dock and shortly after that Fern is the main suspect. Olivia doesn't believe that and starts asking questions. Can she get the right answers before it's too late to save Fern?
