Dead bodies drop faster than they can be carted off to the morgue in this thrill ride murder mystery. The Palms Hotel, a notorious fleabag in Honolulu, is known for its grim reputation. More people end up in the morgue than leave the hotel alive. Foreign visitors are treated with disdain, the dive bar has seen better days, and even the girls seem lifeless. But when someone sets out to clean up the Palms, the body count rises. Honolulu police detective Caitlyn Nakamura finds herself overwhelmed with death, all of it linked to the infamous hotel.
Crime, world politics and Hawaii all tied together in a neat bundle. Have read previous books in this series so the characters have become like old friends and great to get an update. Interesting to also find hints about current state of politics in the US. I am always amazed at the author's ability to keep these books fresh and interesting. While there is crime related violence it doesn't overwhelm the story. Would recommend this and the other series.
Trying to keep the peace when visitors bring chaos and confusion to Honolulu, Caitlyn gets help from Melanie and down the rabbit hole. Maile and Nancy get surprised in Paris and have an adventure
Sinister Acts will keep you guessing until the end. I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed the bonus story with Maile and Nancy. I can't wait for the next book.
