I really appreciated this book and found it both insightful and practical. One of the biggest takeaways for me was how it breaks down the different generations of women and what they each need from a womens ministry. It gave me a new perspective on how easy it is to unintentionally overlook certain groups when taking a one size fits all approach.
I also loved how easy it was to read. It did not feel heavy or overly academic but still offered a lot of depth and meaningful insight. There were several moments where I found myself pausing to think about how I could apply what I was reading in a real ministry setting.
What stood out most was how actionable it is. It is not just ideas. It actually gives helpful suggestions for starting, refreshing, or strengthening a womens ministry in your own church.
Overall I walked away feeling encouraged and better equipped. I would definitely recommend this to anyone involved in womens ministry or even just exploring how to serve women more intentionally in their church.

This is the book that I wish I would have been handed when stepping into leading a women's ministry! It is packed with guiding principles, scripture, and practical applications. Cyndee has a treasure trove of knowledge and I am so glad that she followed God's lead to publish this resource. It will help shape women's ministries across the country and quite possibly the world!

I had the privilege a few years ago to meet Cyndee in person at a conference we both were attending in Chicago. She was so incredibly wise and humble. I really valued the few hours that I was able to spend in a group with her. The same humbleness that she demonstrates in person shines through in this book. She doesn't come across as other authors on the subject as one who has all the answers, but one who shares her experiences with humility. She shares stories of both successes in ministry and things that didn't always go so well. 5 years into leadership myself, I wish I would have had someone be this honest with me about ministry life from the start. It was refreshing to have some of those moments where I as the reader realized 'I am not alone in this'.

She offers guidance for how to start a women's ministry or how to engage in one that already exists. She speaks to those who have full church support and budget, and those who do not.
I also greatly appreciated the rootedness in scripture. So often there is a lot of 'fluff' involved in what people perceive women's ministry to be (she wisely had a chapter also addressing the sacred cows in ministry too). The goal of women's ministry should cut to the core of what matters the most- that God be glorified and that the Gospel would be shared. Cyndee does a terrific job of ensuring that is the focal point. From that foundation she lays in the first chapter, she builds up different elements of ministry. I found that chapter topics flowed quite seamlessly from there.

I really appreciated the questions at the end of each chapter to help one assess what is going well and what could use some tweaking. It also lends itself well to being read together as a team and discuss together. I will be using these to help guide our ministry for sure and buying the women's director at our other church campus a copy.

This is a resource that will be well worn and well used.

Thanks to Netgalley and Cyndee for letting me read an advanced copy from the book launch team!

Whether you have been in Women's Ministry leadership for 30 years or 30 minutes, this book is a must have. It's also a great resource for pastoral staff seeking to support their women's ministry leadership or who are considering establishing said ministry for the first time. Each well researched chapter builds on the one before it and is strongly supported with Scripture verses and examples that establish a Biblical model for us to follow. Additionally, the author includes lessons learned from personal experience, and ideas that can be easily implemented in your church's ministry for women. Other invaluable features at the end of each chapter include reflection questions that help readers to identify their current understandings and to evaluate existing ministry practices. Each prayer offers readers the opportunity to seek God's direction for the specific topics each chapter addresses. The author also provides free resources throughout the book to help readers implement a variety of practices that will contribute to building and nurturing a community of women who seek to grow and mature in their faith.

As a women's ministry director, I have implemented many of the author's ideas and suggestions with great success. Her wisdom comes from Scripture and experience and has also helped me to avoid some mistakes I know I would have made had I not read her book. This book will continue to serve as my "go to" resource as I seek to keep building a thriving Christian community of women.

The new edition of Women's Ministry Toolbox by Cyndee Ownbey will definitely become one of my go-to resources for leading women's ministry. I plan to take my entire women's ministry team through the book as a group exercise.

The book keeps discipleship front and center—it's not about flashy events, but about genuinely helping women grow closer to Christ. I really appreciated how practical the suggestions are for setting up solid Bible studies and other programs. They're doable for churches, big or small, and they don't feel overwhelming.

Cyndee's passion for Biblical literacy shines through. She makes a compelling case that when women regularly engage with Scripture, it doesn't just fill their heads with facts—it actually transforms their lives, their families, and their witness.

I'm thankful my church already has a supportive lead pastor, board, and children's director who helps with childcare, but I still found the sections on building those key relationships super helpful. She gives wise, gracious ways to share the vision and get people on board, which would be gold for anyone starting fresh or strengthening support.

Overall, this book is such a blessing for anyone who wants to reach and disciple other women for the Kingdom. It's grounded in Scripture, encouraging without being fluffy, and full of real-world wisdom. Thank you, Cyndee Ownbey—this one's already shaping how I lead and pray for our women. Highly recommend!
