When a woman running from the mob meets a ranger haunted by his past, the Grand Canyon's dangers might be the least of their troubles.

Tech-savvy hacker Nimue Hart has mastered the art of staying invisible, living off-grid in her Airstream and hiding from the Russian mob who want her silenced. But when a rescue mission forces her into the spotlight, her carefully constructed world begins to crumble.

Grand Canyon Backcountry Ranger Liam Kingsley buried his heart in the Swiss Alps a year ago after a tragic climbing accident. Now he keeps tourists safe and his emotions locked away—until a mysterious woman with secrets of her own makes him question everything he thought he knew about safety.

As their worlds collide, Nimue and Liam must navigate more than just the treacherous canyon trails. With mobsters closing in, a dangerous treasure unearthed, and lives hanging in the balance during a catastrophic flash flood, their growing trust in each other might be their only lifeline. But when Nimue's past catches up with them at the canyon's edge, Liam faces his worst nightmare all over again—this time with a woman he can't bear to lose.

Perfect for readers who love their romance with a shot of adrenaline, OVER THE EDGE delivers heart-pounding action, breathtaking rescues, and the sizzling chemistry between a protective ranger and a brilliant woman on the run.

I can't help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with - a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.

I've been writing as long as I can remember - I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.

Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report - a bi-monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.

Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material - and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, "Measure of a Man," in the Tyndale/HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.

Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age. My favorite fir-lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota - it's where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living. The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven series.based on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior. I have to admit - I'm terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full-length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale/Heartquest.

Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 -- and now we live in the beautiful town I'd always dreamed of! God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings -- and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.

I 'm delighted you've stopped in to visit. My hope is that you'll be blessed and encouraged by soul-stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.

I'd love to hear from you! I love getting mail, especially from readers and I welcome your questions and comments. Write to me at susan@susanmaywarren.com. And, if you're interested, sign up for my newsletter, a quarterly sneak peek into upcoming releases and projects. Thank you for your interest and support.

God Bless and Happy Reading!

Wow! Susan May Warren and Tari Faris really know how to write a book. The first book in the new A Summer Rangers series starts with explosive and powerful with beauty and danger. Suspense and calm. Liam, Luke and Logan’s brother from another series. Liam and Logan are twins. Liam is a Grand Canyon Backcountry Ranger. Tech-savvy hacker Nimue (pronounced Nim-Way) Hart is on the run from the Bratva, Russian mob who has been hunting her for two years. They want to silence her. She stumbles a mission rescue that has forced out of her hiding and now has only highlighted her location to the enemy. As their worlds collide, Nimue and Liam must navigate more than just the treacherous canyon trails, and their growing trust in each other might be their only lifeline. Liam is forced to now face the past. He doesn’t want to lose another woman he could possibly love. These two become connected quickly as danger keeps them in its crosshairs. Loved all these new characters that will be explored within the series. Another 5 plus stars for me.

Have you read The Minnesota Kingston’s series? If so, you’ll remember Nimue, Emberly’s sister. As she is hiding out in the Arizona desert from the Russian Syndicate, she meets Liam, who you might remember from Under the Mistletoe - the MC Logan’s twin brother. He is currently working as a backcountry ranger and is hiding from the pain in his past of losing a friend.

Whew. This no spice Christian Romantic Suspense started out cozy but then kept upping the stakes. I enjoyed watching Liam and Nim grow closer together, learn to open up and trust, and seeing the other rangers he works with. It was, of course, great to have connections to Warren’s other series as well.

When the suspense and danger from having the Bratva after her hit, we were caught up in a whirlwind that didn’t let up. Twist after turn spun us around and left us breathless. This is an invigorating start to a new series and
I cannot wait for the next book. Noah and Meg are calling for me! The romance is just kisses, intimacy level 2.

Fantastic start to a new series. Liam, a ranger, is haunted by ghosts from his past. Nimue, a hacker, has been hiding but soon danger finds her, and she and Liam have to escape. I enjoyed seeing familiar faces from previous series. Over the Edge is a fast-paced read with a perfect blend of romance, suspense, danger, close calls, and heart-pounding adventure in the Grand Canyon.

I’ve been looking forward to this series with so much anticipation, and I must say, I really enjoyed this adventure at the Grand Canyon! I was so invested in Nimue and Liam’s sweet getting-to-know-you relationship fraught with secrets and danger. When Liam starts to fall for the mysterious Nimue, he never could have imagined she’s a white hat hacker hiding from the Russian mob. And Nimue knows how dangerous opening up to the handsome park ranger is… but can’t seem to help herself. Once the action starts, you’re not going to be able to stop reading until you come out the other side!

I loved how Liam and Nimue were able to speak truth to one another. Both of them Christians feeling distance from their faith due to wounds they carry. Liam haunted by an accident, Nimue longing for family she’s never had and terrified from being on the run. There’s some great truth amidst the romance and the action.

There was a bit more of the Susan May Warren story lore in this book than I anticipated. I’m a couple series behind, so there were some events referenced in this story that are a part of that. However, I was so impressed that I didn’t feel lost. If I didn’t know better, except in a few instances, it read just like mysterious character backstory slowly being revealed like any other stand-alone. If you are someone who really wants to read all of Warren’s books in order, this one takes place after Steinbeck. However, you’d be ok going ahead reading this series if that doesn’t bother you, as I’m proof. Liam is also the twin brother in a family from Tari Faris’ books, which I also haven’t read. Again, I’m happy to report that I was not lost, and this book explained what I needed to know. One last mention, it seems like all the tie-ins to these other series only impacts this first book. It does not seem like the next two will have any mention of them at all, because those threads are neatly tied up. However something new is introduced in this one that will be a big part of the others. I can’t wait to keep going to find out how the rangers are going to deal with all the chaos!!

Content- Kisses only, some peril.

Intense, action-packed, and just wow. Definitely a 5-star read.

It’s been a while since I’ve read anything by Susan May Warren, and this might be my first from Tari Faris, although she’s been on my radar for a while. What a book to start with.

Over the Edge is a brilliantly written story that grips you from the very beginning and doesn’t let go. I genuinely didn’t want to put it down. The characters are engaging, the imagery is breathtaking, and more than once, I felt like I was standing on the edge right alongside them.

The premise alone pulls you in: when a woman running from the mob meets a ranger haunted by his past, the Grand Canyon’s dangers might be the least of their troubles. Nimue Hart, a tech-savvy hacker living off-grid and hiding from the Russian mob, is forced into the spotlight during a rescue mission, threatening everything she’s built to stay invisible. Meanwhile, Grand Canyon backcountry ranger Liam Kingsley carries the weight of a tragic past, keeping both tourists and his own emotions carefully guarded until Nimue enters his world.

As their paths collide, the stakes rise fast. Between mobsters closing in, a dangerous discovery, and a catastrophic flash flood, the tension never lets up. The growing trust and undeniable chemistry between Nimue and Liam become their only lifeline, making every moment feel urgent and real.

I now want to go back and read the books I can sense were referenced, and I’ll definitely be adding more from both authors to my TBR. I’m also eagerly anticipating book two in the Summer Rangers series.

Highly recommend, especially if you love romance with a serious shot of adrenaline.

I absolutely loved the armchair travel to the Grand Canyon with Ranger Liam Kingsley!

I needed to hear messages about abundant living, carrying baggage that isn’t mine, and about the place I call home.

Nimue (Nim-way) Hart, Noah Wild and Liam Kinglsey are all broken souls who struggle with attachment - just as dangerous a territory for them as the canyon itself. Authors Susan May Warren and Tari Faris bring them all to the place where they realized that they are loved IN the darkness, that they are human, not superheroes, and that grace is supplied during the pain. I loved the journey to find out where ‘home’ is for each of them and see the growth that resulted from struggle.

I’ll remember this book for the spotlight on grace. Nimue certainly least deserved it, but Liam kept extending it. She kept withholding and he kept showering her with grace. He chose to forgive her and wait for her feelings for him to grow enough to want to share rather than withhold. I loved how Warren and Faris presented the tension and emotion that forgiveness and grace brought to her characters. What a wonderful place to showcase faith … in the glory of the Grand Canyon!

Be prepared for a risky adventure, lots of rescues, the love of family and the start of some sweet romances.

This new series is one I can’t wait to continue.

Only one group would care about her digital lifeline. Maybe it was time to go on the hunt!

I loved all the details about the Grand Canyon, a place I have yet to visit. Liam is a Backcountry ranger, someone who is familiar with climbing, rappelling and survival all of which he is ready to use when someone finds themselves in danger. Unfortunately, these abilities did not help him in the death of a friend in the Swiss Alps. Blaming himself, this affects every rescue he makes. Will he ever learn to leave everything with the Lord, trusting that He has the master plan?

Nimue is a white hat hacker who unfortunately uncovered something that has put her in the crosshairs of the Russian mob, Bratva. Living in a small bus, with all the technology she needs, she found what she thinks is a safe spot on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Fearing that she has been found when her bus is vandalized, she and Liam go over the edge, hoping to find safety. The adventure is only beginning. Is she prepared to trust that the Lord is going before them?

This incredible story with plenty of danger, suspense and more has me anxiously waiting for the next installment in the Summer Rangers series. Received through Sunrise Publishing and BookFunnel, these thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.

Over the Edge by Susan May Warren and Tari Faris hikes up the tension, romance, and the characters with moments of clarity and danger. The heroine, Nimue, is a sister of another character from another series that readers who are familiar with Warren’s world know of. Also, Liam, the hero, is also related to another family that readers will know. It was nice to see the supporting characters from previous stories come back; Warren updates us on their current happenings. Nimue and Liam are both battered and bruised from their past and just want to move on. However, in typical Warren’s adventures fashion, she puts her characters through so much trouble that readers will have a hard time putting the novel down. On the other hand, the unpredictability of the canyon rim makes a wonderful setting for all the action to develop. The uncertainty of the weather and topical landscape matches the uncertainty of the character’s paths. Overall, Over the Edge by Susan May Warren and Tari Faris will delight readers who enjoy plenty of action with a hint of romance thrown in to send sparks flying. I am glad that I have pre-ordered a paper copy of this story already.

Totally a 5 star read. I would give it more if I could! From the moment I started, I knew I’d have to see this series through because I’m completely invested!

Nimue is hiding. The Russian mob is after her, and the canyon, along with her surveillance and hacking skills, is all she has to stay safe. But when she crosses paths with ranger Liam, she unintentionally puts him at risk. Not only that, she begins to fall for him. It’s dangerous and complicated, and she doesn’t want him hurt because of her past. But Liam isn’t going anywhere. They may have just met, but he’s determined to protect her.

As the danger closes in, Liam and Nimue must work through their pasts, her secrets, and his heartache if they want to learn to trust each other and God and make it out alive with a chance at a future together.

This was such an amazing read. The suspense kept me turning pages, the romance was woven in beautifully, and even the secondary romance was just as engaging. I loved the strong sense of community among the characters. I am so ready for Noah and Meg’s story next, and even Teague’s after that.

I received a complimentary copy. This review reflects my honest opinion.

This is the first book in the Summer Rangers series by Warren and Faris. If you want back story on the main male character, Liam, you’ll want to read Tari Faris’ You Belong With Me and also, Under the Mistletoe. And for the main female character Nimuei, you’ll want to read Susan May Warren’s Steinbeck. If you don’t want to spend that much time with extra reading, don’t worry - there’s enough in this book to keep up the suspense.

The characters who are the good guys are great. I don’t really go that much for heart-stopping suspense with the bad guys, but finding out how the good characters survive is worth it.

I also enjoyed the location. I’ve never gotten to go to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, but have been to the south rim enough times to appreciate the basics of this awesome part of God’s world.

One word of caution- there are parts of this book you don’t want to read just before you go to bed, or you’ll be having nightmares about falling off ledges, flash floods, and the like.

This five star read is intense from the beginning all the way to the end.

Liam Kingsley is a park ranger running from his past. Nimue Hart is a hacker trying to stay alive.

Liam blames himself for an accident that wasn’t his fault. While he is determined that nobody else will die on his watch, he also questions himself and his ability to keep people safe.

Nimue has been living off grid and on the run since hacking into Bratva files. She has major trust issues. Even as her relationship with Liam grows, she only trusts Jon with partial information.

Both characters have to work through a lot of baggage as they try to stay one step ahead of their pursuers and survive the dangers of the Grand Canyon.

I loved this faith forward book which takes inspiration from Isaiah 43:2. The action and the tension between the two main characters kept me riveted.

A new series with lots of old friends? I am hooked!
Liam Kinsley is a ranger at the Grand Canyon. A job where he helps keep people safe and where he keeps his shattered feelings locked up tight.
Nimue is a white hat hacker and is hiding because of something she found. Her life and the lives of everyone she loves is in danger. All she has to do is stay hidden and keep moving so they can't find her.
This book is full of adventure, secrets, forgiveness and learning to trust that God is there, even in the darkest time, He is there.
I fully enjoyed this book and that so many old friends were present in it. I enjoyed how both the authors weaved together their characters and brought them together. Definitely recommend!

What a powerful story! I particularly enjoyed that the characters were focused on my favorite verses in Isaiah 43.

I loved how Liam had such a strong support system with his family. The bond that he had with his brothers was so special. His integrity throughout the book was so admirable too as he sought to keep those around him safe. It was hard for me at times to read Nimue as she had a lot of layers in her story. Her ability to keep going when there was so many struggles was encouraging.

Thanks so much to Sunrise Publishing for the arc. The opinions are my own.

I love the characters in these stories. Each has a well developed background and a challenging experience to overcome. Nimue is on the run from the Bratva because she hacked into their files. Liam is a park ranger who has a history of personal loss and has decided to help keep people safe. The story sets a fast pace with the perfect balance of plot and character development. I love the message that God is present through everything. Both Liam and Nimue learn to trust and love together.

I LOVED it! You can definitely read this book without prior knowledge from books Tari and Susan have written previously, but it’s so much more with having the prior knowledge of the previous series it ties too! I can’t wait to read the next book, and read North, South, East and West to find out what happens to some of the side characters. I love the adventure and romance, and it’s hard to stop reading once you start.
