Beautiful, powerful and amazing.
This was one of the best books I have read in months. I absolutely loved it. It was powerful, full of fierce love, strength and bravery. Some of the plot twists were inspired and unexpected.
The characters were great and the best world building I've had the pleasure to read in a long time.
I was happy to see characters from other series pop up unexpectedly and add a sweet element to the story.
The end was a little bittersweet and I am already anxious for the next book.

This picked up right where Bargain left off and threw you into the fun right away!
It was an incredible journey, the secondary characters were a total treat to meet. I found it hard to put down and was caught off guard with the twists.
I highly recommend this series!

Another fantastic book in the series
Whew. This story. Was so good. This installment of the series was definitely another stay up too late, cannot put it down kind of book. It kept me completely enthralled from the first word until the last with real and relatable characters, exhilarating storylines, layered world building, palpable tension, unexpected twists, and sizzling romance. I fell head first into the story and was equally desperate to read it all at once and also to savor it and make it last. This is the second book in this multi-book series so be prepared for the resolution of smaller story arcs but also for no resolution of the main story arc. This story picks up right where the last book ended. Damien is a prince who was dragged from Stygarde to Earth through a rift created by the Gowdie witches hundreds of years ago. Eloise, who has recently learned that she is not simply human but a witch from the order of the dragon, just solved her evil ex-husband problem and freed Damien, her shade mate. But just as they are celebrating, Damien is dragged through a portal to the Night Haven vampire coven/hive. Eloise will have to figure out how to become a monster in order to free Damien from Valeska, the evil vampire coven leader. The story includes all the goodness that you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, evil entities, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, mystery, secrets, betrayal, revelations, spice, and laughs. I especially love that Eloise’s character, despite her unique powers, how the rest of the world views her and the overwhelming task she has taken on, is still kind, self-deprecating, modest, reluctant, and at times resentful which makes her a very likeable and relatable hero. It is a story of damaged and bruised but not broken people who continue to find their way by owning their choices, recognizing their scars, finding their strength, embracing life, and deciding to answer the call to do what is right, even when it is hard. This book could be read as a standalone but to get the full depth and breadth of the story, do yourself a favor and read the first book in the series. And with that ending/foreshadowing - I am so here for the next book. I am loving this series and the evolution of Eloise’s character.

Because of the overall arc of the Bargain for a Shadow Prince series, it is recommended that you listen to the series in the order of its release. This review contains spoilers for book one. While I will try to remain vague, it cannot be avoided.
A Battle for the Shadow Prince begins immediately after A Bargain with the Shadow Prince ended. Damien has been ripped from Eloise, and she is determined to discover who has her mate and free him. She reaches out to her friend and first suspect, a Gowdie witch. Together they discover Damien is being held by the vampire Queen Valeska in the subterranean city of Night Haven.
Eloise and her friend work to strengthen the power Eloise has, and through it she learns Valeska is determined to break the mating bond she has with Damien and make him hers. Eloise reaches out to Damien's friend and, with the help of another vampire clan, she learns of a ritual challenge she can initiate.
Wow, Jack had me hooked from the first audiobook, and this second audiobook was action-packed and suspenseful as Eloise enters the Night Haven as a human blood bag. I devoured this addictive tale. You'll love to hate the vampire queen as Elosie faces challenges, gathers allies and refines her skills, but all of it will come at a cost.
The storyline can get dark as Damien is tortured and Eloise grapples with the challenges to win back her mate. Jack balances this with passion, twists and friendships.

After reading the first book, “Bargain for the Shadow Prince”, I couldn’t wait to read this story. Another great read. I stayed up all night reading because I just couldn’t put it down. !!!

I have been anticipating this book since the moment I finished the first one, and it did not disappoint. I appreciate the loving relationship between Damien and Eloise so much, and I love that they never falter, even as they're pushed to by the conflicts of the story. Can't wait to read their next adventure!

The continuation from the first installment of this series guaranteed it would take off right from the start and it absolutely does. I really enjoyed the growth Eliose had in this book while separated from Damien. Her flight to get him back was inspiring. I can't wait for the next one!

So incredibly good. I adored this novel so much. The characters are wonderful, i believed in Eloise’s growth, i loved the person she grew into. I’m excited to see what else is in store for this couple!!

I will admit I was sure when book 2 began…lol but I trusted my love of the author and I am so glad I did.
There is so much happening in this book especially at the beginning it was overwhelming, gut wrenching and anxiety inducing, but don’t let that put you off because the ending was spectacular and the promise of more to come will keep me hanging out for the next installment.
The entire story was about truly finding yourself and your inner strength and not just the main characters but a whole hive of characters as well.
Eloise is to be admired by the end of the book even if I thought she was totally nuts a few times early on but hey when I gals in love Eloise proved there is absolutely nothing she won’t do to get him back from evil clutches.
Damien showed his true love by letting Eloise handle things instead of tearing the world apart, that showed great restraint lol.
All up another amazing book by Genevieve Jack I honestly cannot recommend all of her books enough.

I always love Genevieve’s books, she has a way of hooking me in right away! This is book 2 in ‘A Bargain with the Shadow Prince’ series and it totally lives up to its expectations.
My poor boy Damien goes through it in this book, I mean Eloise does too but she uses it to fuel her rage and discovers her strength. And I love it! The emotions, the story building, the characters are all just wonderful! I also love a lot of the other characters introduced in this book and if you want a story of a certain coven leader and her mate there may just be one (which I didn’t realize till later who it was!) 😉
The more I read about Damien and Eloise makes me fall in love further and further with them. Their way they are there for each other, is just beautiful and I cannot wait to see how they grow and navigate their next ‘adventure’ in Book 3! As always, Genevieve I love your stories! Thank you!

I can’t explain in words how much I love this book, it’s simply under describable for me to put into words, my obsession with this series and Genevieve Jack’s stories overall, I love everything she’s done and I am always here for a new series of a new book. This one takes us right back to the end of the previous book., I love this even though Genevieve pulled me through the ringer, with book anxiety pure stress, but I’m rewarded with fantastic writing, a ton of my favourite characters, a great plot, completely unpredictable, addictive and engaging, one of my favourite heroines and dark heroes, words also can’t describe how desperate I am for the next book. Absolutely fantastic

A wild ride with so many twists and turns, it is emotional, has mystery and intrigue, suspense and more. I love our Heroine who is slick, smart and sassy as hell, not to mention our Hero who is Dark and drama-laden, fiercely loyal and HOT. Amazing
I love Damien and El's story. The twist and turns this story takes has you at the edge of your seat waiting for the next surprise. The story went a direction I didn't see coming, but I have always loved that about Genevieve Jack's stories.

This story was satisfying. Can be read as a stand alone but can't wait for the next. Loved Phantom. What Eloise does to save her mate is admirable. The challenges reminded me of Harry Potter Goblet of Fire. Great read!

I enjoyed this book more than the first. I thought it was written very well. I like the whole story line about her finding Damien & having to challenge the vampire queen. I also thought the shock factor of her getting killed & turning into a vampire was pretty shocking. I was not expecting that & it definitely made me gasp out loud.
