Three sisters. One unforgettable seaside summer. And a secret that changes everything.
Charlotte came to the island to hide—from the past, the headlines, and the betrayal that nearly ruined her life. But when a stranger recognizes her and the whispers start again, Charlotte must decide whether to keep running… or finally tell her side of the story. With the quiet strength of Grayson, the local ferry captain, Charlotte just might find the courage to stop looking back and start living again.
Harper has fallen for Ethan, the marine biologist with a little girl to raise on his own. But love won’t be enough unless Harper can find a job to stay for good.
Alli is doing her best to stay grounded as her fiercely eccentric grandmother, Lydia, drags her—and wise, pie-baking Cecilia Goodson, who just wants to focus on her weight-loss journey—into a new scheme that’s equal parts chaos and charm.
As secrets surface and second chances shimmer like sea glass, the sisters must choose to let go—or commit wholeheartedly to their new found family.
Heartfelt, atmospheric, and full of beach house charm, this is women’s feel-good fiction at its most uplifting!
Another wonderful story of hope, resilience, love, and sisterhood, playing out in a beautiful seaside setting. It’s Charlotte’s turn to get her new beginning and find love, and I really adored Grayson for her—her steady, mature ferry captain. Charlotte’s been a bit of a mystery throughout the first two books in the series, so I was more than ready to find out what secret was haunting her. As the story progresses and Charlotte learns to trust and lean on Grayson and her sisters, she is met with nothing but love, acceptance and support, which was so heartwarming to read. The sister’s paternal grandmother is an eccentric and lovable secondary character, and I love what she brings to her granddaughters’ stories. We also get glimpses of what’s happening in Alli’s and Harper’s lives. I love that life goes on for them as well, and we can still follow along. As always with a Nellie Brooks novel, there’s plenty of attention paid to delicious food as a source of comfort and connection, and the descriptions of the setting, especially the sea and flowers, are simply incredible, pure and enchanting.
This is a great series. Charlotte’s turn. We finally learn her secret. She and Gray really connect in a big way. The Sandcastle is simply amazing; I’m glad Grandma buys it. So much happens in this story. It has a wonderful conclusion of all the loose ends. Loved it. I received this book from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Amazing story set on a small island. Three sisters, three cottages and a three year commitment. Add in three handsome men and the other things fall into place. You can tell the author put in a lot of work making it all happen and then it gets better as it continues to unfold. All because of a grandmothers love for her 3 granddaughters.
I enjoyed finally discovering Charlotte's secret. This series has been very heartwarming and entertaining and I especially liked that the three sisters all found true love. I will miss Mendocino Island and all the interesting characters.
I highly recommend this series. It is full of romance and a family getting to know each other. I love how the characters and places from her other Mendocino series are part of this new series.
I really loved reading this last book in this series. These characters were so perfect, I just could put it down. Thanks so much Nellie Brooks, I’m looking forward to reading more of your stories.
The story of the three sisters end in happily ever after. The only thing that struck out were the editing mistakes of names. What is Harper’s fiancée’s name, Evan or Ethan, very annoying.
This third book in the series wraps everything up for the third sister and the family as a whole. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and will possibly check out the author's other series as well.
This is the last book in this trilogy and is centered on Charlotte, and explains her back story and why is is always so afraid. This was an excellent series.
