Evelyn Vanderbilt found something else to make her blood heat this Christmas season besides the eggnog and her annoying little sisters… a model. Evelyn spent her entire life being compared to her younger sisters. Not only did they receive all-star everything growing up, they even got married before she did.
Now at every family function they are eager to rub it in her face. Evelyn would rather curl up with a cup of apple cider and a good book and ignore this holiday season but now her mother has jumped on the husband bandwagon.
While out Christmas shopping she bumps into Brett Mansdell the professional male model. Instead of him being the arrogant playboy, he turns out to be Mr. Nice Guy. Evelyn tells her sisters who she met and they laugh claiming she is lying.
When Brett shows up unexpectedly and takes her out to see the annual Christmas light show leaving her sisters dumbfounded, they have a wonderful time and share a kiss. Brett leaves the next day and Evelyn tells herself it was only one kiss and he’d forget all about her. She can’t decide which will hurt more. Risking her heart to be with someone who takes her breath away or being at more family gatherings where she feels like she’s suffocating.

My thoughts: This story was okay. I'm not sure why it was titled You Better Not Pout, the FMC spent the entire story internally pouting.
Recommend to others: Sure this is a quick read it went by faster than expected.
Memorable Quotes: She liked both of her in-laws. It was her sisters she couldn’t stand. She always felt so incredibly judged by them, yet she was the older sibling. “Let me ask you something, Sis,” Makayla chided, “This whole being single thing, is it really by choice?” She and her twin began to giggle. Gordon squeezed Makayla’s kneecap and shot her a look. “Babe.” “No, seriously. I mean don’t you get tired of being alone on holidays?” Evelyn sucked her teeth and answered in a calm fashion, “No Kayla. I am single by choice and holidays should be about family not spouse hunting.” She scoffed, “I’m going to bed.” Evelyn rolled her eyes, turned on her heel and stalked into her bedroom closing the door behind her.
“No boyfriend yet?” Great. Someone save me. “Of course not auntie. You know Evie is anti-man.” McKenzie chimed in. Evelyn nodded and retorted, “That’s funny sis. I thought you were too.” Knowing good and well their aunt Virginia merely tolerated McKenzie’s choice in a partner. Kenzie cleared her throat, “She probably scared the recent man away.” She cut her sister a look. “No, Aunt Virginia, to answer your question, I’m single.” “Well, you’re a pretty little thing. A pretty girl like you should have been married by now. You’re getting up there.” Get me out of here. All Evelyn could do was suck her teeth and nod to keep from throwing her drink in her own aunt’s face. “If you’ll excuse me.” She stepped in between her sister and aunt and left them to talk about the joys of families and babies. She heard the doorbell ring over the loud music, but knew someone else would answer the door.
This was a quick fun read. The title did not go with the story to me but it is OK . Evelyn out doing last minute shopping not only found the perfect gift for her mom but also the perfect gift for herself.
I thought Evelyn was too emotional for just meeting Brett. Her insecurities were on full display 5 seconds into meeting him, which lead me to believe that she’s single due to trust issues. Super short and sweet insta love story.
