The Secrets of Shepard’s Woods is the story of Audrey Flanders, a young woman who moves down south to help her grandmother recover from back surgery. Audrey works in the canning factory by day but her nights soon become filled with suspense after she learns that the woods near her house are haunted and filled with secrets that she longs to uncover.
Hold your breath as Audrey walks on the “wrong side of the fence” and share her wonder as she marvels at the mysterious, disappearing church.
She may need your prayers as she brushes shoulders with the spirits of the dead but her biggest obstacle will still be ahead of her.
Preacher Man, the reportedly deceased property owner of Shepard’s Woods, must be confronted before Audrey can make any headway. Will he allow her to uncover the mysterious secrets or will he refuse to let her on his property? Can she convince him that she is mature enough to help him conquer his demons?
Come along for the journey and watch as Audrey discovers the secrets, excitement, and heart-felt warmth of small town living.
I liked the book well enough. It was a good story and a mystery. The only thing it was hard to get into. Once I did it went pretty well. In some cases the writing was a little boring, The main character did most of the dialog, which wasn't a bad thing, but not sure how old she is and the way she tells things seems a bit childish. (if that is the right way to explain it) I don't know what she looks like so it is hard to put myself in the main character and feel what she is feeling. The structure of the story it'self is good, I just think it needs more information about the main character. I started the 2nd book, so far I am a bit confused about it. It starts off with Audrey talking about being in a "secret Room" but the first book never mentioned anything about it our what happened in there. Will however continue reading and see what happens.
Good star to the mysterious Shephard's Woods series. Can't wait to start the next book. I had no clue what I was starting but can't wait to finish the series.
I really liked this book and look forward to reading more. It seems like it might have been written for younger readers but that didn't bother me. It has a very interesting plot.
The story was interesting but for some reason it's split into three "books" of less than 100 pages so I feel like I'm being ripped off if I have to pay $3 for each part. I won't bother reading the other ones.
This was a very well written, entertaining book but I gave it three stars because it isn't a stand alone. I realize it's a series and I received it free but I don't like to be required to read every book in the series. Otherwise I highly recommend it.
That was painful. My 8 yr old cousin could build more suspense. According to the writer to create it by asking a lot of questions. Are you scared yet? I saw a ghost and it walked tight by me. I couldn't sleep. Scared yet?
