Shrouded by deep scars and a past that still haunts him, Dallas Griffin chooses to live a life of seclusion, a peaceful existence in his cozy mountain cabin, far from prying eyes. When a house fire causes his nephew's death, Dallas refuses to believe the initial report, forcing him to leave his sanctuary and venture into town to uncover the truth.
When he runs into Claire Bartlett, a girl from his past, at her flower shop, he finds that somehow, she’s able to draw his guards down.
Claire has always dreamed of running her own flower shop. She used all her savings to purchase the local flower shop and move back into town.
With Claire’s help, and the assistance of her friend Avery, Dallas investigates the mysteries of his tragic past, uncovering a truth that might finally heal his scars. But the twists and turns soon spiral into an unimaginable nightmare, threatening to hold Dallas captive once again.
They say the truth will set you free, but this one may leave him with more shackles…
*The Secret is Book 5 in the Juniper Springs series and can be read as a standalone.
The stories in this series have a little bit of everything. There's scary suspense intertwined with sweet romantic gestures. What a refreshing way to spend my freaking time!
Claire is the new girl in town or rather a returnee. Claire bought the flower shop. The place she worked while in high school. Dallas was her Romeo to her Juliet in the high school play. After graduation Claire went on to college while Dallas became a fireman in Juniper Springs. Too many fires in this little town where people were killed or hospitalized. Dallas is doing some investigating two firemen have died rescuing people one being his younger brother, the other a friendly. Claire just fell into trouble delivering floral arrangements. Too many things don't make sense regarding the fires or why the firemen died. Will Dallas, Claire and/or Avery figure this out before anyone else dies or gets hurt? Great job. Thank you.
This is one of my favorites in the series!! I love the entire series. I have enjoyed reading as the town has grown and learning about each new couple. The warm characters you end up feeling like you know personally to how their lives intertwine. I hope this series goes on for a long time!! Great job, A.J.Rivers
I have enjoyed reading the Jennifer Springs mystery books. I like how the characters from previous books are brought into the new book. The only reason I'm saying it's a little goofy is that it's a good mystery story but the love story part is just a little out there. However, read through the series you will enjoy it
This was a great story about Dallas and Claire and others wanting to find who is setting fires and also killing people and finding who is responsible with lots of suspense and action and romance is happening. Thank you
I am bowled over! This was such a great Juniper Springs story, with intense, edge of your seat moments and revisiting the other couples. Claire and Dallas are just perfect for each other.
Thank you! This is a great storyline. It was interesting, exciting and heart warming at times. I loved the characters too. I really enjoyed it and I know you will too.
Can coming back to your home town change how you remember the past? Will you be welcome for returning home? Start you life a new. Infiltrate yourself into the community for acceptance.
AJ Rivers does not disappoint with this new line of mystery and love from Juniper Springs. Avery is in the middle of a new case but plays back fiddle to the true love overshadowing the plot. Well done!
