Born for war, war for bonds - that is the path for the Clones.
Med Worker Aurelia Cole is forced to turn detective when her friend Nicholas escapes from custody and goes on the run. And when she finds that he's left the safety of the Lunar City Dome and travelled Out, she knows that she has no choice but to follow him onto the Lunar surface. Aurelia's epic journey leads her to kidnap, deception and understanding the pains of being Clones.
But the real pain comes from betrayal, betrayed by the one she trusts.
(If you haven't read the first book you shouldn't read this. Spoiler alert!) The saga continues in book#2 as Aurelia attempts to help her friend Nicholas who's just been placed under house arrest. She is still questioning her feelings for Jonathon and if she should trust him enough to fully let him into her life. Thus left debating if she could have a relationship with Nicholas whom she adores yet something is missing that Jonathan has, and it isn't him being a clone. It's as if he already has a piece of her heart. Aurelia wonders who she can trust and asks herself if the resistance is worth the risk. Aurelia, Elza, and Jonathon have to hide his Nicholas's clone identity so that he can continue to live.
I liked the second installment in this series. I became to like all of the characters and some of the plot points were very interesting. I couldn't be on board with the love aspect of the book though, although it was not as prominent as it was in the first book. Sometimes a bit over the top I liked this book and I'll be definitely continuing this series.
The story picks up where it left off. Aurelia has no choice but to trust Jonathon when Nicholas is put under house arrest after an assassination attempt. Try as she might, Nicholas's life is endanger so she and Jonathon need to do something before he gets killed. But soon Nicholas has gone missing and Aurelia tries each and every thing she could to save him, even asking for help from Zak, Elza and Jason. Now her relationship with Jonathon is on the brink and he could possibly be the next one to be injected because of what he's done for her.
Like the first book, this had been another spine-tingling and heart-pounding story. Aurelia gets the best of both worlds, with Nicholas the Clone and Jonathon, the future President of Lunar City. I liked how she had earned the right to be the heroine she was destined to become. Magus Tor once again wrote a really exciting dystopian sequel. Aurelia had become the TOOL that would change Earth and Lunar City's relations. Readers with wild and prodigious imagination would very much enjoy this book. Looking forward to reading Tree!
The book is given by the author for my honest review.
After reading the second book of the Numbered series by Magus Tor, I am just sitting back and processing all of the events and revelations that the book presented in its pages. Even though very little time has past since Aurelia arrived to her post at Lunar City hospital, she has witnessed many new things that make her question her trust in the people around her. She also learned more about the dome and earth and the people who make it all function. Aurelia's personal growth also means she must decide if her beliefs are worth taking a risk for. There were unexpected twists and plenty of action and conflict as the Resistance continues to heat up. I am loving this story and eagerly looking to read the next story in the series.
This is another great book that I loved. I love how the book continues, and it throws you right into the action. It's filled with many surprises, and overall is a very strong sequel to the previous one. The author sets the pace well, and I enjoyed it.
