Stranded

Rate this book
Chloe couldn't believe what her boss was asking of her. Traveling to his secluded mountain cabin for a meeting right before Christmas was bad enough but being forced to go with Jake, her main competitor at work would be absolute torture. For two years she had watched Jake use his Southern good ole boy charm to win accounts while she worked so much harder just to stay even. Now they were both gunning for the same coveted promotion and being stuck with him in a cabin was her worst idea of a nightmare. Jake knew Chloe was way out of his league. Not only was she smart and beautiful, she was also completely clueless how sexy he found her. After a few failed attempts to thaw her cool exterior, he had given her up as a hopeless case. Will Chloe and Jake be able to overcome their differences? Or will be stranded together in a secluded cabin only doom their relationship for good?

Coworkers Chloe and Jake really didn't like each other but it turned out that their differences really was their Greatest strengths. And those strengths would be tested greatly in the future. I really enjoyed Their love story and I recommended it.

This romance was more than I expected it to be because it lived up to abstract and more. I love this book.

One extra star because they basically burned everything in this man's house to get through the blizzard. That was hilarious.

4 stars out of 5 because...

I love the dynamic of the characters with Sondra making them seem like a real couple their relationship was very plausible even have the relationship PLAY out over time instead of meet and 3 weeks later they're claiming love with her pregnant and then moving in together with so many of these BWWM books going down that path, Sondra gave us a realistic type love story. Now I gave Stranded a 4 star based on its predictability from the moment they left the cabin I knew moment for moment what would happen next although a great story and read I find it would have been more entertaining had Sondra given me a bit of suspense when it came down to what was going to happen within the story promise no spoilers here cuz you're going to want to read this story

So sweet.

This was a sweet short read. Just goes to show you that love can conquer all even if you hit rock bottom. I'm happy for Jake and Chloe. Even though they did hit a rough patch, they were still able to pull through together. Nash they say karma is a witch!!!

A nice read

I enjoyed this book...it wasn't outrageously passionate or exciting but it was nice and sweet. So far that I give it 4 stars..it was a bit drawn out and slow for the attraction to build between the characters

I really liked this up to the end. Then things kind of rushed to a finish. Jake was kind of weak and lame, but he slightly redeemed himself. And I really missed seeing the moment they realized they loved each other. I was disappointed that was glossed over.

What I loved about this story was it was like real life, no about some billionaire who swept aq poor black girl off her feet I wish the story could have been a little longer as it seemed a little rushed

Actually very sweet - it was very fast-paced due to being a short story, but I could relate to the characters and it wasn't overly-saccharined.

Short but sweet love story

Nicely told love story of Jake and Chloe, two strong but different individuals that were competitors but find they are better together than apart.

The book had a consistent flow, and managed fullness of events and characters, in just 86 pages. Pretty amazing.

Refreshing

I really enjoyed this story. Most Christmas love stories end with the holiday. This story could have easily followed that pattern. What we get instead is a slice of life after the holiday. Chloe and Jake have worked together for a long while and see each other as rivals but once they are stranded in Tennessee they realize they have a lot in common and start to fall in love. They both quit the firm where they work. They go into business together and their sleazy ex boss sues them. The resulting pressure almost destroys their relationship because Jake internalizes his feelings. They talk and decide that they love each other too much to quit the business or each other. It was really refreshing to read about two people who appeared “normal”....not billionaires or twisted alphas....not that I don’t enjoy those😁😁😁.....but just a sweet guy with a dream and a smart girl with a plan.

It has been a while since I read a good interracial romance and this one seemed to have a good start. It also contained one of my favorite tropes--enemies/rivals to lovers--so all in all my expectations were pretty high. Sadly, the writing fell short of fulfilling my hopes. For starters, it was a little too long on certain details that were unnecessary but sorely lacking in ones that would have been beneficial to the plot. Despite the overall length, I felt like the author herself got a little bored and just wrapped things up with the hero and heroine so she could finally type "the end" and send this to the publisher. All around just a bit lackluster for me.

Attraction lurks beneath the Hostility!

Hero and Heroine hid their attraction to the other with the hostile suspicion and workplace competitiveness in which they engaged. Stranded together in a snowstorm, their real feelings came to the surface. There are still other storms to get through before their happily ever after!

STRANDED. Just Awesome!!💗

STRANDED by Sondra Wells was a fantastic story. This storyline had me on lockdown from beginning to end. Nothing was rushed. The intrigue, the slow build of sexual chemistry, and the flow of the story was just great. Chloe and Jake were so real, great couple. 💗💗👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Love unexpectedly

This is an interesting story about two people who worked together in the same office and did not get along, but as fate would have it, they were stranded in a snow storm up in the mountains on a job assignment
