Recently divorced, Dr. Vera Rios is too busy navigating the potholes of single parenthood to look for Mr. Right, but along comes a man who cherishes her, adores her daughter, and helps her find her sexy groove. The only problem: Mr. Perfect is an escort.
Rowan Forrester conceals many other secrets, one of which threatens the happiness he finds with Vera. Can love find a way, or will Vera have to choose between her beloved daughter and the man of her dreams?
Jade Kerrion, an award-winning author, got her start in fan fiction. She developed a loyal reader base with her fan fiction series based on the MMORPG Guild Wars. She was accused of keeping her readers up at night, distracting them from work, housework, homework, and (far worse), from actually playing Guild Wars.
And then she wondered why just screw up the time management skills of gamers? Why not aspire to screw everyone else up too? So here she is, writing books that aspire to keep you from doing anything else useful with your time.
She lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her wonderfully supportive husband and her two young sons, Saint and Angel, (no, those aren't their real names, but they are like saints and angels, except when they're not.)
Aroused is book one in the Life Shocks Romances series by Jade Kerrion.
Vera Rios has been divorced almost a year now. It was an unhappy marriage but the best thing that came from it is her darling little one year old daughter, Allison. Vera is a pediatrician so most of her time is spent at her practice. Her ex-husband gets Allison on the weekends so she volunteers at a medical clinic. It’s there that she first met Rowan Forrester.
Rowan was supposed to be seen by his sister that day at the clinic but instead he met the beautiful Dr. Rios. Vera draws her own conclusions, not realizing that Rowan was the other doctor’s brother, and thinks he is a male escort since that is the type of people she sees all day. Rowan is the most beautiful man she has ever seen and when he invites her to dinner, she can’t refuse, even though she knows what he does for a living.
“Why did Rowan have to be an escort? Why did he have to be the one man she knew she could not have…should not have?”
Things grow quickly between Rowan and Vera and Rowan and Vera’s little girl bond just as quickly. Vera was hurt badly by her ex-husband and Rowan helps her to see the beautiful woman she is. He makes her feel beautiful, both inside and out. Rowan, though, has something in his past that could eliminate all the happiness they have found.
Vera’s ex-husband is a very vindictive, self-centered man. If he can find a way to destroy the happiness that Vera and Rowan have found, he will take it.
This is a pretty short and sweet story of two people who found each other when they least expected it. But their happiness was not easily sustained. With skeletons in their closets and outside forces working against them, a future together is hard to imagine. Will they find a way to make it work? I did enjoy this book but I didn’t get the tummy twirlies. Still, though, it’s a cute little summertime romance and I’m glad I read it.

This is my first experience with Jade Kerrion and I must say, she’s an author who writes in a style I like. She’s not overly descriptive and isn’t repetitive.
This is a fairly short read but tells the story of Vera and Rowan perfectly. The author has managed to inject humour and angst throughout and made me really get behind Rowan as he tried to win his woman. I like the dynamics of the characters and their chemistry was believable. Both Vera and Rowan were instantly likeable characters.
I had to laugh when Vera tried not to fall for him because she thought he was an escort! Just goes to show you should never jump to conclusions!
Vera Rios is a divorced mother with shared custody of her daughter, resenting how little time she gets to spend with her kid while the father gets so much. Working the family health center, she meets a “male escort” coming in for a “routine checkup.” Unfortunately, Vera runs into a lot of these “types” at the health center. What she didn’t expect, however, was a handsome and debonair man. It’s such a shame that was he was a prostitute.
Rowan (actually a model, not a prostitute) was captivated by Vera’s beauty and kind nature. To give her fun night, he takes her out, letting her think he was an escort. He makes her feel special. Although some of it was sweet, the whole thing was a mediocre woo-fest. Characters were endearing, but there was no real heat or chemistry. Nice romance, but nothing really “arousing” about it.
Dr. Vera Rios is sitting in at a clinic for a colleague when she meets Rowan Forrester who she thinks is a male escort. She chides him on what she thinks is his job but when he asks her out to dinner she says yes. He treats her as if she’s the only woman in the world. They set up another time to meet the next weekend and he meets her daughter, Allison. Rowan realizes this is what is missing from his life but also that Vera needs to know what his real vocation is. When she does realize that he is one of the most sought after male models she is relieved especially since she’s fallen in love with him. But things get a bump in the road when her ex, Darren, decides to challenge her for custody if she marries and moves to New York. Read on your own to see where this leads but I loved this story and hopefully you will too.
Finally a different plot to read. Too often there is a misunderstanding about something and they don't talk anymore until years later. This book isn't like that.
Rowans sister is smart and intervenes because of a joke gone too far. I like her. Both main characters are very sensitive or vulnerable and want the best for Allison. The child's father also has a say but is still angry because of the divorce. Recipe for disaster. Great ending though, except for the dad.
The title suggests a more erotic story though, but this is more romance.
This is a great book. I so enjoyed it. Vera is divorced with a 1yr old daughter. She's a doctor who's very busy. Her ex has Allison every weekend & Vera misses her. She does volunteer work at a Family Health Centre every Sunday. Rowan comes to the health centre & he sees Vera. He likes what he sees. She thinks he's an escort & he's hot. Loved this book. Thanks.
I love this book. It's such a great story, that you can't help but share in the happiness of the main characters. It's one of those love stories that makes you go, "Awww!"-- Happy sigh! Wonderful! I'm already looking forward to reading Jade Kerrion's next romantic story in this series!
A quick read. Puts me in mind of a short story. Not much relationship development before the I love yous. Story fast forwards more than once. I did like Allison and Rowan's relationship. Yes I mean the little girl. He takes an interest in her and doesn't treat her as a sidekick of Vera's. Overall it was a good read, I just like more depth to the story and characters.
I couldn't buy into this heroine being a doctor and it was frustrating that there was a child character (one of the primary reasons I chose this book) and she was off page a lot. I also couldn't really distinguish the male POV from the female POV. Overall, this was a DNF for me.
This was actually more of a 3.5 star read for me. The story was short, and felt a little rushed to me, especially on the romance side of things. I did like the characters overall and felt that they were easy to connect to, but Rowan's deception got taken a bit too far for my tastes. Vera also ended up a bit to wishy-washy as well, sending mixed signals when things got rough. All things considered, it was a well written story, but lacked any real depth. Not sure I want to continue the series.
Dr. Vera Rios doesn’t have time to search for Mr. Right. The recently divorced mother of a one-year-old spends what little free time she has with her daughter or volunteering at a clinic. When the gorgeous Rowan Forrester comes into the clinic and pays attention to her, she can’t help but be intrigued. It’s too bad he’s an escort considering how infatuated he is with Vera and her daughter.
Rowan is fed up with the fake people in his business who only want to use him to promote their own celebrity. Vera likes him for who he is, despite the fact that she thinks he’s an escort. But keeping secrets from her could threaten everything they’ve built together.
Aroused is a sexy tale of two people who want that perfect love and have trouble finding it. At times it’s hot and steamy, but it’s also swoon-worthy. The way Rowan cares for Allison, Vera’s daughter, had my heart fluttering more than any of the erotic scenes—although those got me going too. Rowan truly does seem to be perfect in almost every way. His character is well developed and his confidence is extremely sexy.
I enjoyed the pace of the relationship between Vera and Rowan and how Rowan taught Vera to have confidence in herself. After so many years of not being appreciated by her ex-husband, it was no surprise that she started off the story with low self-esteem. Rowan was able to break her out of her shell and teach her that part of her beauty came from the way she felt about herself.
Some of the plot was a bit too cliché for my liking though. The relationship began on a lie—which I won’t disclose to avoid spoilers—and the longer Rowan perpetuated the lie, the worse the repercussions were going to be when Vera found out. I understood Rowan’s reasoning in the beginninghe wanted someone to get to know what was behind the gorgeous face and perfect body—but things carried on for too long, and of course ended up exploding in his face. Then, just when things appeared to be smooth sailing toward a happily ever after, a new problem arose with no foreshadowing. This felt a bit like it was just to keep the story going rather than a cohesive part of the plot. And then we had the cliché heroine response: she wouldn’t let him explain, so the issue was drawn out more than it needed to be. The ending didn’t seem plausible, that everything would be okay just because Vera said it would be, but the characters did get their happily ever after.
Overall, the story was enjoyable despite these clichés, and it was well-written with no major editing issues. I would recommend it to any romance fan who doesn’t mind a bit of the cliché. I would definitely read more by this author.
Ms. Kerrion gives the reader a well written story about searching for Mr. Right. Dr. Vera Rios is so busy with her clinic that Mr. Right has been put on hold, until a hunk, Rowan Forrester starts showing interest. She notices his attention to her. The problem being, he's an escort.
Vera likes Rowan for being Rowan. His business likes him for the money he can make them. But could this secret, since Vera only thinks he's an escort, ruin everything. Everybody wants to find that perfect someone, fall in love, but it's really hard to do. The author gives the reader a hot little sexy encounter of Rowan and Vera. It's not only hot and sexy but it's rather sweet too. Vera's little daughter has gotten much attention from Rowan. He really cares for the little girl. That's hard to find. A man who will love you and love your little one without any misgivings. The characters are very well developed and you'll find Rowan is not only a hunk but oh so sexy. Rowan let Vera take her time and didn't rush her which I loved. He was willing to wait. This relationship as many started off with a secret. Will that secret eventually come out and destroy what Vera and Rowan have together? Just about the time things were all peaceful and going great, the big explosion occurs. I won't tell you any more about this since it would spoil it for you. If you like hot, steamy, erotic reads that have that softer side of true caring and understanding than this is the perfect book for you. The ending was nice but is it really going to last? I would definitely read another book from this series. I love a good romance with all that goes with it and the icing on the cake was the fact that the man was MR. RIGHT! which we all want.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and voluntarily decided to review it.
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
Wow I just finish reading this book, and I have to say that I love it, love the characters, and love how the book turn out to be, I have to say that this book got me mad at some part, but I love every single minute of it, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Vera, she is a single mother of a toddler, she's a Doctor and she's being single for the last nine month, her routine is go to work go home spend sometime with her daughter Allison and go to bed, and on the weekend she volunteer at a clinic while her daughter is with her father, but this weekend is different, when her friend call her to ask her if she could cover her shift cause her son is sick she agree to do it, but what she was not expecting was for the Sexy Hunk of Rowan to show up, when Vera saw Rowan and so how good looking he is, she could't believe that he would show some interest in her, but all Vera could think about was to bad that he is an escort, would Vera give him a chance.
I love how Vera and Rowan are with each other, love it how Rowan is with Allison, love the chemistry that they have from the beginning, and love it how he show her that he care for the both of them. I really love and enjoy reading this book, Author Jade Kerrion THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this amazing book love it and cant wait to read more from this author.
This book was not what I was expecting. This is the 1st book I've read by Jade and it certainly won't be the last. Jade's prose rolls along nicely, it's easy to sink into the story and be fully invested with the characters. The crux of the story is Rowan being an 'escort' and with Vera's track record she honestly doesn't know if she can cope with his lifestyle. But that isn't all this book is about, oh no, its a lot more than that indeed.
Now I'm awarding 4.5 stars because I got a bit miffed at the revelation towards the end, call me all kind of stupid, but sorry that one bit had me sitting up and going - seriously..... But having said that I couldn't knock hardly anything off because of it, it just niggled me a bit that's all.
Now if you can relate to Vera, she's gonna give you a few lump in your throat moments, she really will. Her confidence in nigh on non-existent and that's all thanks to her ex, what an asshole he is! Rowan cleverly brings her out of herself but not without some near catastrophic moments along the way too.
All in all this is a really good love story, it's heavy on the love and less on the smutty/erotic talk, but it's delivered into todays words and thus not gag inducing and overly flowery. Which is I have to say quite refreshing. Layman terms on the heat factor - warm to semi boiling.
For a quick, pleasant easy to relate to read this is definitely worth your one-click.
Vera is a pediatric doctor and newly divorced from her former husband of 13 years as well as a single mum of beautiful little 1 year old Alison.
Vera volunteers every Sunday and the health care clinic to kill some time before her daughter comes back from her dads.
Rowan is a sexy hot super model that wants to find real love but not someone who wants him to get places someone who wants him for him.
Vera and Rowan meet by chance under very and funny circumstances......
Vera is very attracted to Rowan but doesn't think she can have a relationship with him due to what she thinks he does for a job.
Vera decides to give it a chance and see where things lead little does she know what her ex has in store for her and little does she know about Rowan’s past!!
Can there love find a way or will Vera give up love for the sake of her daughter?
Does Rowan’ s past shut down all their hopes and dreams?
We really enjoyed this book it goes to show that there is real love and it can be found in the most different of situations and it shows never judge a book by the cover!!!
Quote we loved from the book
“Thank you for loving me enough to give us another chance.”
Great quick read by Jade Kerrion we can't wait to read the next book!!
Aroused is Vera Rios story, Vera has just recently divorced after thirteen years of marriage to a man who made her feel self conscious of herself, who was emotionally distant from her. Her life is now consist of her work as a doctor and her one year old daughter, that is until she meet Rowan Forrester, a sex male model who show her what love is really about, he also loves Allison her one year old daughter as if she was his own. But Rowan has secrets which can hurt her and she may loose custody of Allison.
Jade Kerrion shows us that honesty and trust need to be earned and that if you truely love someone you are willing to listen to what they have to say. That true love is when one person is willing to sacrifice every thing for the other person even if it is going to hurt you more than having them in your life.
I gave this book 4 1/2 stars. I have read the whole series and enjoyed all of Jade Kerrion's books. They all have a meaning behind them and are all entwined in some way. So if you like a series wher characters up up from one book to the other this Life Shock Romance Series is for you.
The Life Shocks Romances series just keeps getting better and better! I really enjoyed reading Betrayed and Crushed, but I absolutely loved reading Aroused! It is just an awesome book!
The story flowed from page one, sucked me in, and held my attention the whole time I was reading. It was hard whenever I had to pull myself away because I didn't want to stop reading until I finished. It was just exactly the kind of book I needed right now and I wouldn't change a single thing.
Aroused is a pretty quick, pretty easy read, but it does still pull on your heartstrings. It was a perfect blend of heartache, humor, heat, and happiness. I loved the characters and Rowan and Vera's relationship. I don't think that the book could be any better, I wholeheartedly loved it!
Aroused is a standalone and although it is the first book in the series, I would recommend reading the series in the order that the books have been released in because I think it will be more enjoyable. It's told from both Rowan and Vera's point of view and it does have a

This was my first book by author Jade Kerrion and I’m ready to jump right into another one of her books it was so good. I was immediately hooked and didn’t put it down. The storyline was great and the characters were well developed and likeable. The book had everything I like in it; a good storyline, laughter, a little aggravation where you want to smack one of the characters on the head, love and tears. This one did a quiet a few tears for me.
The story is about a recently divorce doctor, Vera Rios, trying to make it as a single parent of Allison but is too busy to date and has to deal with a very difficult ex-husband. She meets a patient at the clinic whom she believes to be an escort but is drop dead gorgeous, Rowan Forrester. Rowan ask her out for a date and sparks fly. He is the most charming man who treats her and her daughter right. The life perfect except he’s an escort and has secrets from his past that she finds out about that can take her daughter away from her. So she has many decisions to make while her heart has found love which she hasn’t had in a long time.
I loved the book and my only question is where can I find a Rowan Forrester for myself!
The Life Shocks Romances series just keeps getting better and better! I really enjoyed reading Betrayed and Crushed, but I absolutely loved reading Aroused! It is just an awesome book!

Oh my G, that was uhhh-mazing!!! I'm still smiling right now because I was kind of love drunk at the moment. To think that the author was able to made me feel like that with just few pages was just wow. I really didn't expect that. Partly because I just got the ebook for free and partly because I am the 90th person who will rate this book. I just pick it up to passed the time but I practically didn't put it down until I'm done. It's not really the plot (although, that's amusing) that made it a good book but I feel like the characters were able to reached my heart. And I think that's the most important thing in a book. What would you do with the clever and well-thought plot if you just feel like an outsider reading the book without feeling anything? It is always better that you fell inlove with the characters. I just have one question, where can I find my own Rowan? Lol. Truly an undiscovered gem! I am very excited to read all the books in this series. I hope they would be as good as this one. *fingers-crossed*
Vera Rios is a single mother, a doctor, and lonely. But she doesn't have time for dating or relationships, especially when she's coparenting her daughter with her not so nice ex-husband.
During her volunteer hours at a free clinic, she runs into Rowan who's getting screened for STD's and charms her into a date. The only problem? She thinks he's a male escort.
Vera fights her attraction to Rowan, but who can resist such male pulchritude? She falls for him, only to discover he's hiding some horrible secrets, the type that can cause her to lose her daughter.
What is love worth to Vera? Can Rowan clear his name? Read Aroused and find out.
What struck me most in reading Jade Kerrion's romance debut is the clear, clean writing and gut-wrenching plot. There are no wasted words, and the pacing is fast and engaging. I'm really excited about the Life Shocks series and will be reading more.
Dr. Vera Ross recently divorced with a year old daughter as she too busy being a parent and not looking for another male. Not until Mr. Right walks into her life who not only cherish her but her daughter as well and most of all make her feel sexy but she thinks he is an escort.
Rowan Forrester is actually a very successful model that he keeps from her. This one secret at first destroys their relationship when she finds out that he lead her on. But that isn’t the bigger secret which will destroy their happiness.
Falling for each other big time, they decide to take the next step and become a family. But as the wedding quickly approaches her ex husband threatens to sue her for custody if she takes their daughter out of state using Rowan’s secret.
Will they be able to make it past this hurdle or will their love be not enough for them to move forward together? Love is not always easy.
This is the first novel and series I have discovered by this author. A quick and easy read where this story entails a relationship based on assumptions.
Dr. Vera Rios is newly divorced and adjusting to single parenthood with her daughter. One random meeting with patient Rowan Forrester stirs up thoughts inside her head. One date leads to other dates and each time she is showered with attention and being cherished whenever they are together; however, hesitant for more because this perfect man is an escort.
Is Rowan what she needs? All she knows is how she feels when they are together. Then more inferences come into play making happiness to grasp that more difficult. This 3.5 stars recommended read will make you think twice on judging someone just by their actions and their lifestyles.
This story is about Verra, a single working mom (she's a doctor) of Allison. Verra meets Rowan Forrester, who came into the clinic for some tests and Verra presumes he is a male escort.
As Rowan and Verra begin to fall in love, Verra discovers Rowan's true job, which creates a few issues they are able to work through.
As their relationship progresses, Verra's ex finds some ghosts in Rowan's past and threatens to take away what is most precious to Verra.
Will the truth come out or will too many things work against them.
I loved this book and the relationship between Verra, Rowan and Allison!!!
Vera meets a guy that she's very attracted to at the clinic she volunteers at and the only problem is that he is an escort. Rowan is gorgeous and sweet and so much that she wants in a man. He asks her out for dinner and they have amazing chemistry together. She can't help but take their relationship further and when her husband threatens to take her daughter away she will have to let him go. But all is not as it seems...
I so loved Rowan. Sweet and sexy man who wants so much more and is ready to settle down. I wanted to shake Vera a couple of times. but still hoped for their happily ever after. I so enjoyed their story.
