★★★★★ "I loved every moment of this series." ~ Kathryn G., Kindle Customer ★★★★★ "I could not put this book down. I loved it!" ~ Virginia, Kindle Customer ★★★★★ "Could hardly wait to finish the chores so I could have a couple hours to read!" ~ Patricia, Kindle Customer Destinies unfold. Secrets are revealed. The Isle of Mull will be forever changed. Half Highlander, half Viking, Garik MacKinnon was not born on the Scottish Isle of Mull, but fostered there in his youth. Now, he leaves behind his home, once more bound for Mull, to join the MacKinnon warriors as they answer Robert the Bruce’s call to arms. He is ready for battle, eager to fight for Scotland’s freedom. What he is not prepared for is his encounter with Nellore, a shield maiden from Mull, whose allure defies all reason. Nellore has the strength and skill of a warrior but the heart of a woman. When the men are called away to war Nellore must aid those left behind to safeguard their village against attacks from the MacLeans—a feuding clan to the south. She understands her duty to her clan. She is ready to take up arms against the enemy if need be. What she is not ready for is the ache that fills her heart when war pulls Garik from her side. Desire ignites and battles are waged as both Nellore and Garik learn what it means to love a warrior.

The third book in this series. We have watched Shoney and Ronan through 3 generations of friends and family.
This book is about the baby found in book 1.
The 12 years old girl falls for 16 year old warrior. Years later they get together.
Both are good warriors together.

So proud of my dear friend Lily on her amazing accomplishment of writing this series. Though historical romance isn’t typically a genre I gravitate towards, I thoroughly enjoyed all three of her books, and this last one was by far my favorite. I really got into the historical aspects of the books, and our heroine of this last one, Nellore was just a total badass. Also, love how Lily sets her books apart by prominently featuring the faces of strong women on the covers instead of the usual hunky male physique. Bravo Lily!

Awesome story!!

A wonderful 3rd book in the McKinnonn sage. It's Nellore time to come into herself. Bruce has called Ronan's clan in there battle against the English. With the men gone for 5 years the woman have become strong. When Garik, Duncan and Logan return there is celebration. When there is an attack from the McLeans Ronan decides to ask for peace till after the war with the English. Nellore accompanies 9 men to the McLean castle when the are ambushed but with the help of Nellore come out the victors. They speak to the eldest son who agrees to a temporary stay. When the men are called back to Bruce, Garik and Nellore marry before they leave. When Finn McLean tells Bruce his older 2 brothers are killed and wants to bring there swords back home, he is released to do so. Within a day treachery is discovered and Ronan, Logan, Duncan, Garik and 40 of Bruce's men hurry back to Mull to save there clan. A great story with a heartfelt ending for Shoney!!

A sweet read

This tale followed Ronan and Shoney aka Bridget throughout their lives.

The first book was their romance. The second was about Duncan and Brenna's romance and the this book was about Nellore and Garik.

I enjoyed the history and how the author inserted these lives into the war in the times when Robert the Bruce struggled against England.

I was a little squeamish that Nellore was twelve when this book began but was glad when time passed quickly.

I'll definitely add Lily Baldwin to the list of must read authors.

To Love a Warrior

What a great third book. Nellore is not your ordinary maiden. She is a shield maiden trained to fight when the warriors are gone. War is declared on their clan, and Nellore must turn to the witch to save them all. Truly enjoyed this whole series.

Fun read

Light hearted and fun. Lots of love and happiness. The tying together of characters from the first two books. If you enjoyed them you need to read the rest of the story.

A strong series conclusion

The three year old Nellore from book 2 grows into an unconventional woman. She is 6 feet tall, strong, a good swords woman full of valor and passion for her clan. She fancies a young Orcadian who fosters with the Mull McKinnon. He is the grandson of the laird's best friend.

There is a lot of description of the war during the time of Robert the Bruce. The young lovers are separated for years (2-5) more than once. Through all they strive for peace and love.

I liked this story best of the series. Nellore and Garik are lovable characters. Also this story wraps up issues and visions from the first two stories. Read them in order.

I loved every moment of this series!

I listened to the audio versions of Books 1 & 2 and read book 3 from cover to cover. Be sure to read all three books, in order, to get the most out of each. This is an excellent series that I hate to see come to an end. All of the characters were written with such depth, that they became like friends. I truly hated to get to the end as I shall miss them all. All very well written and a pleasure to experience..

I'm all for empowering women and Nellore is no exception. She is the abandoned baby found on the moors by the famed Witch of Dervaig. Nellore is growing into a vibrant young woman, skilled in the art of bow and sword. The Bruce calls her a Shield Maiden of Scotland and that is just the beginning. She may not be able to go to war, but she's standing tall when the war is brought to her and her clan. Fantastic story!

Loved this one

Lily Baldwin knocks it out of the ballpark with this historical romance that rings with authenticity. It was so moving, both heartwarming and heartbreaking. I highly recommend this book. I read it on Kindle Unlimited, but will be purchasing the entire Isle of Mull series as soon as possible. I have found a new author to love.

Brilliant!

What is not to love? The historical aspect of the war between The Bruce, King of Scotland and Edward, King of England is great, but the lives and loves, feuds, and religious aspects behind it all is brilliant as is Lily Baldwin's writing talent! The way she intertwined all three books in the series around Shoney and Nellore was truly captivating! Strongly Recommend!!!
