Tracey's knows the zombie apocalypse is real when he sees a boy eating the intestines of an adult next to the soccer ball rack in the store he manages.
Guy finds out about the ZA when he gets a disturbing phone call from his parents that chills him to the bone.
Konrad puts into action the plan him and his husband, Jase, a military pilot, have for surviving the ZA together.
Renji just wants to get home and hopes that the flight he's on isn't going to be his last one ever.
As the zombie outbreak grows in scope, Eddie faces the reality that her job as a cop to serve and protect the public has to come down to worrying about her own ass instead of others if she wants to come through the ZA alive.
When the ZA happens, what would you do to survive?
Edited to add: This was my 3000th book marked as "Read" here at GR. I know there are plenty more I haven't marked but it's a good omen I think of all the reads left to come...

OMG this was really damned good. But it's only the set up for what I imagine is a longer story.
And while I found this languishing on my external drive, of course I don't have the one that follows...
Ha! No wonder I felt like I'd been dropped into the middle of things when I read ZA: Run & Gun, book "1" of this series. It was good to finally get the beginning of the story. Better late than never! :)
Love that I can clearly picture the places mentioned - Queens Quay, Billy Bishop airport, The Islands etc. - all places I've been.

It seems I need a "zombie fix" at about this time of year. Probably due to TWD withdrawal! :)
On to the next book; it will be a treat to read them in the proper order!
