For the past few years, Roscoe Crawford has played second fiddle to Cleveland's current kingpin Sam Thornton. But when the chance to supplant slingin' Sam presents itself, Roscoe and his ruthless band of thugs pounce on the opportunity. Everything seems to be running smoothly until they run into a crew with a similar agenda. Richard "Rock" Harris isn't the type of hustler who waits for something to be given to him. Whatever he wants, he takes and with a deadly squad of goons around him he has no trouble getting what he wants. With the two crews on a major collision course, bloodshed is inevitable. Terror sweeps the city as innocent bystanders and petrified residents get caught up in the crossfire. But as the two crews battle for supremacy, a vengeful third party sits back and waits for them to destroy each other so that they can swoop in and pick the bones clean.
In CJ Hudson’s latest literary effort, Turf Warz readers will immediately be drawn into the storyline that tell a tale of two people battling for one thing and that is power in this turf war. If you think this is your typical bang bang shoot em up drug dealer story with an unrealistic plot, think again because Turf Warz read like a movie and keep me turning the pages.
Rock and Maurice both want that kingpin status and will not stop at anything to achieve it. They say the game has no loyalty and you will see throughout the pages that friends definitely can become foes and you will wonder who will be the last man standing if anyone. The character development was on point, emotionally accurate and the plot in my opinion was perfectly executed.
This is my second book from CJ Hudson and I definitely saw the growth from him as a writer and know that anything else he releases will be nothing but good. If you are looking for a page turner that will leave your mouth open upon finishing, then I highly recommend Turf Warz to you! Literary job well done, Mr. Hudson!

I will say that while the story had good potential it didn't quite net the mark. People were getting killed just as quickly as they were being introduced. There was some editing issues and name mix-ups. When I finally finished the book I didn't find myself feeling any sort of way about the characters. I would not be able to recommend this book to anybody
Not a bad read but the story got lost in all the violence and craziness. Everybody was having sex with everyone, setting each other up, and killing each other. No one was spared and even the newborn baby was killed at birth by the crazy father.
