Apesar de ser um livro pequeno, consegue ser bem abrangente, abordando diversos temas relacionados a Muralha de Adriano, como: os materiais utilizados, quem trabalhou na construção, as disposições e estruturas das fortificações e torres ao longo da muralha e o dia a dia dos soldados que monitoravam a fronteira norte do Império. Além disso, também é discutida a Muralha de Antonino e o impacto dos romanos na Grã-Bretanha.

No último capítulo fala-se do estado da Muralha atualmente e são dadas sugestões de turismo.

Há diversas fotos e mapas ao longo do texto que enriquecem a leitura. Livro bem trabalhado, uma boa introdução ao assunto.

Step back in time

This book was an extremely helpful look into a Roman soldiers' life. Masters of construction and innovative in the use of water the Roman soldier was well sheltered and clean. Military procedures they developed are still in use today. This book was well researched and organized.
