The Adam and Eve Story, A History of Cataclysms by Chan Thomas - The Lost First Edition

Rate this book
Yes. This is the edition you've been looking for.

This is the edition that was published before the CIA got involved and sanitized it for the second edition release. Which is the edition that is on cia.gov. If you've gone deep enough, you will be able to find what was removed from the second and later editions. It has to do with the sun. You may be saying to yourself "Why does this copy only have 41 pages? The video I watched on Youtube and the guy on reddit said the original had like 230 pages." Well that is because first, any Youtuber, TikToker, or Redditor that has made content on this book has pretty much only been able to use other peoples Youtube videos, TikToks, and Reddit posts as research material. Second, those people are probably thinking about the 1993 version that he put out, five years before he died. That edition, contains the sanitized version of The Adam and Eve Story, which he expanded with more supporting work and data from other authors, scientists, climatologists, etc., as well as his full follow-up book, The Aftermath of The Adam and Eve Story. That is the edition that has the yellow, green, and red cover. The original first edition, which is the scan being offered here, is the more plain, tan stock, seen here.

If you still want to believe that the original had more than 41 pages, I would challenge you to find anywhere on the internet where it actually says that. Other than Youtubers, TikTokers, and Redditors. Only because most Youtubers, TikTokers, and Redditors unforttunately don't cite their sources. But even if they did, like I said before, their sources would likely be each other. There is no cumulative repository of data on all books that were ever printed giving you a plethora of detail on different editions. Which is why first edition identification is a skill that you develop over time and experience.

If you're wondering why the "sanitized" version has 45 pages (still longer), that is because he formatted it differently for the second edition and had to add more material because they took out the majority of his preface. In the original first edition, there is not table of contents and The Great Floods (Chapter 2 in the sanitized version) is the preface. That is where they removed most of the material. So after the sanitizing, he was left with very little and probably wanted to re-write it. So he added a chapter before the The Great Floods, The Next Cataclysm, which is pretty much dramatics. Then he had to re-write The first part of The Great Floods without his information on the Sun and MHD, and then added a big list of geographical locations that support his theories.

If you still aren't convinced, here is something you can deep-dive on. First edition identification. This is the second printing of the first edition. A First edtion can have multiple printings and they will still be first edtions. Once the cover or contents are changed, then it's a new edition (short of say an error correction between the first and second printings). Go look at ANY picture of this book you can find on the internet. Find the copyright page. Every other copy on the internet is either a second or third edition of this iteration, or it's any edition of the 1993 iteration (which shouldn't even be in the conversation at all). Even in the most popular video on Youtube by The Why Files, he says someone found a copy and its all the same. If you look closely at the copyright page of the book he shows you'll see that it is a third edtion.
