Sara Lander was back in town. She had big plans for her inheritance along with her freshly printed business degree and years of experience in some of Seattle’s finest bakeries, she has a rich idea for Pride. Sara's Nook is going to be the next biggest thing to hit town. All she needs now is to steer clear of the hunky ex-Navy SEAL who is hell bent on taking all her focus away from starting her own business.

Allen Masters has been living in Pride for several years. Setting up a new branch of the Coastguard and training all the new recruits took years of skill and all his patience. But when he sees the black-haired beauty, who had come back into town, he realized she was the one he'd been searching for. I really loved the relationship Allen and his puppy had, "fine, you can come out and watch the news with me. But no more messes on my floor. And you go right back in when I go upstairs to bed. Is that understood?" The puppy looked and him and then walked between his legs and into the living room." I also loved how Sara knew her own mind, "if I wanted to go home, I would be home." Smiling, she reached up on her toes and place a soft kiss on his mouth. "Now, point me in the direction of hot water and those sweats." Allen that boy was like a little kid on Christmas when he saw what Sara had given him as a gift, "you bought me knives?" He smiled at her and shook his head. 'Leave it to a baker to buy a guy something he'd been thinking of getting for the last few months." He chuckled. "Do you know how hard it is to cook a steak without a good knife?" He pulled the box open and started looking at the knives one at a time." I really like this book and I can't wait to go back and read the series from the beginning.

I thought this was a lovely read, about love, finding your way, stalking, coming home, and to top it off suspense, mystery and romance.

Sarah comes home to her hometown to get away from a stalker. She wants her life back, she is coming back to a small town where she was raised, with people who have know her since birth there she will find open arms, friends and her family love. She has spent her life working for other and wants to live her dream of opening her own bakery. She opens Sarah’s Nook where she bakes like a dream her food is to die for. Her dreams are coming true just a few things get in her way. One ex-Navy SEAL and one stalker she thought she left behind.

When Allan comes walking into her life and rocks her world she just isn’t ready for this nor does she have the time for romance. She must get this bakery off the ground and find out who is stalking her. Why this person has followed her, what could they have in store for her and what could they want from her? Every time she turns around he is there, helping her, and the attraction is strong. Is this something she can afford to walk away from?

Allan is an ex Navy Seal turn to Coastguard with a sweet tooth not only for Sarah baking but for Sarah herself, he has his own ideas one look was all it took to know she is the one just as he knew the little town of Pride was where he would live. He isn’t giving up, no sir, he will get this one lady if it is the last thing he does. He makes sure he is there every time she is in need, this stalker has him worried but no way will he get her for he is her one man savor no way no how will anyone get to her they will have to come through him first.

The town of Pride is where everyone would want to live it’s a town full of love and friendship. Everyone knows everyone, they step in to help as needed. It’s a town full of love, hope and dreams where when you are down on your luck there are no question ask they step up to the plate and give what is needed. I so want to move to Pride Oregon and be wrapped into the love of these wonderful characters. I loved the plot where you just never know what is going to happen. The author spins a wonderful tale of suspense with wonderful touching character that will leave your heart filled with warmth.

This book was so believable from the beginning to the end. Allan steals your heart when he brings home Beast his new puppy. He puts him down for the night but the dog wasn’t having it. Allen said okay you can come out and watch TV but you are going right back when it is over. He puts the dog back down for the night, goes to bed and ends up going back down to let the little one sleep with him. He tells him fine, but this is a one night stay tomorrow you go back to your room and bed. RIGHT like that is going to happen. Beast is a wonderful dog you will love, he serves and protect. There are a lot of places this book made me chuckle and Beast was in quite a few of them.

I loved Sarah she was strong and determined she isn’t going to let anyone get in her way including a stalker. Allan is a true military man with strong principals, he is sexy as hell, strong, caring, loving and will help Sarah with any problem she has including tracking down a stalker.

Oh my the ending is to die for, you are going to totally love this ending. The cake she made for Allan for Valentine’s day is just outstanding, I can still picture it in my head. I have never read anything from this author before I liked her style so much that I have bought a few other of her books. I look forward to reading more wonderful tales in the near future. If you are looking for a fast read that will warm your heart all the way to your soul this is the book for you. I highly recommend you go pick your copy of My Sweet Valentine: A Pride Series Novel today.

Sara Lander moved back to Pride after being gone for several years. She moved back home with her mom and younger sister but hopes that she won't have to live there much longer. Not that she doesn't love them but they depend on her to cook and clean since her mom is always busy working and her sister is spoiled. Sara has her eye on the antique shop that Allison owed. It's been vacant for years now and Sara has always deemed of owning her own bakery. One thing you can't get in Pride is a decent cup of coffee and she knows that when add that with her desserts and pastries, it will be a huge success without taking business for the Golden Oar Restaurant. Hints aren't always easy though, especially when a crazy stalker had followed you home.

Allen Masters has been in Pride for a couple of years now helping to set up and now run the Coast Guard training camp. He loves the town and the people but it wasn't until he saw Sara that he felt complete. He felt connected to her almost at once and once he tasted her sinful desserts, he was a goner. But strange things keep happening to Sara and he knows that she's hiding something.

This story starts out before Red Heart Christmas ends so there are brief parts that over lap but don't worry it isn't the boring kind of overlapping where you have to read everything again. It's just a new perspective. I enjoyed this book more than Red Hot Christmas because the mystery and suspense that was lacking in that book was back in this one. One thing that saddens me is that his looks to be the last of the Pride backs, at least for now. There is a spinoff series called the secrets series though. The first book features one of the side characters that you met in the Pride books. I highly recommend the whole series but each can be read as a standalone but are much more enjoyable when read in order.

My Sweet Valentine by Jill Sanders

**Given ARC for a review**

Sara Landers wants to move forward, she wants something more than just working in a bakery. She wants to own it; get her hands dirty. When on a rainy night she looks into a building she feels is perfect for "Sara's Nook." Mix some rain and a little car trouble, all Sara is at the moment is cold and frustrated.

Allen Masters is a retired SEAL, now working for the Coast Guard. He is single and has his eye on Sara. Then one night, on his way home, during a normal rain in Oregon, he sees Sara looking into the window of an old building. He stops to see if she needs his assistance, of course, Sara doesn't until she does.

She finds Allen attractive; sparks fly immediately. Not wanting a distraction in her life, she tries to avoid Allen. However, when one lives in a small town, like Pride, it is not easy.

I have read most of the books in the Secret series and enjoy them all! Pride is no different. Jill's characters have complex lives and live in a not-so-black-and-white world. Which for me is a plus. I love Sara; her focus, quirkiness, and edginess. She is delightful.

Allen, is your dreamy ex-military, handsome, hunky man, a great combination.

This is what I like to call a weekend read; it is an easy read with no muss, no fuss. I liked this book; it had all the essentials I look for in a great short read romance. It has a great girl, a hot guy, and a sprinkling of steamy love scenes.

I received a complementary copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Sara moved back home to Pride, Oregon after leaving Seattle where she was being stalked. She is now living with her mother and sister. After working at someone else's bakery Sara now wants her own business so opens Sara's Nook. As soon as she came to town, she met Allen who is a retired Navy SEAL and is now running a Coast Guard rescue station in Pride. They are immediately attracted to each other but Sara wants to focus on her new business so she avoids Allen. On top of that, Sara's stalker has followed her to Pride so she really has a lot on her plate and no time for romance.

Sara was a wonderful character and I liked her a lot. She was strong and determined to make her business succeed, not letting her stalker win. I must admit that I love stories with men from the military and Allen was perfect for me. He was gorgeous, strong and tried to help Sara with her stalker problems.

I like the author's writing style. Pride is so well described that you can picture the town and the people who live there clearly. I loved the town of Pride and would like to live there. I would especially visit Sara's Nook!

I liked that My Sweet Valentine had both mystery and romance and I loved the ending. It left me smiling as I read the last sentence.

My Sweet Valentine is a light, quick read. An enjoyable story, though perhaps a little too quick to allow true connection to the characters.

Despite being a later title in the Pride series, this story does stand on its own. I'd not read any of the other tales in the series, so perhaps that attributed to my confusion at times. It seemed there were a lot of people mentioned I was supposed to know (and strangely enough, many of them with names starting with A, which made it more difficult to keep track of who was who). I'm assuming if I'd read prior titles, I'd have more of an understanding of the surrounding characters.

I liked Sara. She was determined and smart. Allen seemed an honest, stand up guy, though the military characteristics of him didn't shine through. The prior SEAL experience was mentioned, but he could have been any pilot or Coast Guard member. He was more an every day type of guy, but it didn't make me like him less.

The stalker aspect kept the story moving, but things were a little too easy for Sara. The clean up/recovery from vandalism seemed easy and solutions were quick - no ramifications for her, but that contributed to the lighter read.

I enjoyed Sara and Allen, and I'm glad they got a happy ending.

Following The Signs!!!

Allen Masters had a near death experience while he was serving in Afghanistan and he had a vision of himself on the beach with a beautiful woman and a dog....He didn't stop until he made that vision become a reality and the first woman who walked into his life and who took his breath away was none other that Sara Lander one of Pride's very own.....who found her way back home after a few years away in Seattle. No matter how hard they tried Allen and Sara couldn't resist the attraction the felt for each other but most of all it didn't help that they were always at the same social events given the fact that they were both friends with the Jordans siblings and their spouses so there was no avoiding each other. Loved how Allen never stop trying to win Sara over and she gave him a test to have dinner with her and her family, he was able to pass the test after winning over her mother and her sister.... Sara and Allen eventually gave in to their desires but Sara was still being stalked though the police, Allen and Sara thought it was her former boss who had a crushed on her...It turned out to be someone else, one who held Sara responsible for her husband neglecting her.....A wonderful way to end the Pride series with this beautiful story.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. This is the first in the Pride series for me and I don't know why I haven't visited there before now. Sara Lander has moved back to Pride to open a bakery. Where she meets Coast Guard instructor Allen Masters, a retired Navy Seal. There seems is sparks between them from the first touch. Sara doesn't want a relationship now, she wants to get her bakery opened. Allen has never had these feelings before. Each time the are together, the sparks grow bigger and bigger. But who is stalking Sara and broke into the bakery and caused major damage. The whole town comes out a shows her their support and offering help. Don't try to guess who is after Sara, because your guess will most likely be wrong. I thought I knew but was fooled a few times. Jill has a way with these stories that will keep you glued to your kindle and trying to figure out who done it! If you haven't read any of Jill's stories, I say pick one but read it and enjoy. I have read most in the Secrets series and only this one in the Pride series and I loved it. Thanks Jill for another great story!

I was given a copy of My Sweet Valentine in exchange for an honest review.

Sara returns to her small town of Pride Oregon, after living in Seattle for a few years. She comes back and is living with her mom and younger sister and has dreams of turning an empty store front into a bakery. She's hoping to leave something behind in Seattle, but no such luck.

Allen is a retired Navy Seal, now in charge of the Coast Guard rescue station in town. He's at the point in his career where he's starting to hope that he'll find the woman of his dreams and settle down. Could Sara be that woman?

I really liked this book in the Pride series. I haven't read all of the previous books, only the one immediately before this, but I really like how well the characters are developed when they are featured in a book while we still get glimpses of the current lives of the prior feature couples.

I will definitely be reading all of the prior books in the series to see how everything got started, and I will also keep my eye out for any future books in the series!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is part of the pride series though this is the first book in the series I have read but I have read other books by this author.

Sara moved back to pride to open her dream bakery while retired SEAL, Allen Masters is working for the coastguard. When they first see each other sparks ignite. While trying to navigate their feelings, Sara's stalker makes a sudden return. Allen tries to be there to help put her life back together while the police try to figure out who is responsible.

My Sweet Valentine is a great story with suspense, mystery and romance. I really connected with Sara's personality, she was a brave and hard working woman.

My only complaint would be that it felt a little rushed at spots but overall a really great read and I will definitely be reading the other books in the pride series.

This book brings sweet to whole new level!

Sara is just pure sweetness and has been chased back home to Pride Oregon by a stalker she was dealing with in Seattle. She is an amazing baker I guess it's because she just oozes sugar from her veins.

Allen is the head of the coastguard academy in Pride, and we figure out that he is a pure romantic at heart.

These two can cause a sweet tooth to develop if your not careful. She loves to bake and he loves to eat the sweet sugary deserts she creates. Their story starts off innocently and before you know it there is a full on romance quickly forming. Very sweet and caring characters that I would love to read more about in the upcoming Pride novels.

*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review then on 5/11/14 I purchased this book

Another sweet romance with a bit of a mystery! Jill started My Sweet Valentine in a way I've never seen (or noticed) before and I really enjoyed it. She overlapped the end of Red Hot Christmas and the beginning of My Sweet Valentine but changed the point of view to the new couple. Very cool idea! I wonder if the rest of the series is this way too!

Sarah made me want to start baking again. I'm not creative enough to come up with amazing new desserts or the names so I won't be opening a bakery any time soon. Regardless, loved her! Great ambition in that one. Now for Allen. Yes please. He seems absolutely wonderful and I'm very happy he did not give up!

Thanks again to Jill for the chance to review another book in the Pride series!!

**Provided ARC For Honest Review** I have read other books by this author before, but this is the first book in the Pride series for me. Sara moved back to Pride to begin her dream of owning/operating a bakery. Allen is a retired Seal who now works for the Coastguard. They were both attracted to each other as soon as meeting, but Sara thought she was too busy with opening the bakery to get involved with anyone. Allen didn't give up that easy. Soon they can't deny the feelings they have for each other. Once Allen finds out that Sara is in danger he does everything he can to protect her. I was happy when the dust settled and they got their HEA. I enjoyed this book and I will make sure to read more books in her Pride series!

In My Sweet Valentine Sara Landers returns to Pride, Oregon and meets Allen Masters the chief of the local Coast Guard station, an ex-SEAL. Sara is a baker and works to open a new bakery in town, while getting to know Allen.

Sara has one big problem in life ~ a stalker. She hoped moving back to the Oregon Coast from Seattle would bring an end to living in terror but it seems to continue and escalates until the stalker is revealed at the end of the story.

I lived on the Oregon Coast for many years and the book is accurate as to location and if you wonder the whale story is true! The State Highway Maintenance Department did it.

Another amazing addition to the Pride series, Jill has done it again..
Sara returns to Pride, after leaving when she was being stalked..
Now she's back to open her own Bakery, she's had enough of working for someone else and wants to follow her dream..
But in walks Allen, a HOT, extremely sexy, ex Navy Seal.. And he's one Hell if a distraction.. Trying her best to stay away, is so hard, but she can't afford to get distracted by him..
Then her stalker crawls out if the woodwork and Sara has had just about enough..
I'm loving the Pride series, can't wait to see what's next!!

The taste of love is sweet

For Allen, a former Seal, it was love at first sight when he saw Sara. Sara had returned to her hometown of Pride to hopefully outrun a stalker. She decides to start a bakery which is met with approval by the townspeople and especially by Allen who has a fully developed sweet tooth. Before too long the stalker catches up to Sara and now not only attacks her possessions but also her business and her life. Allen and their friends rally around Sara to keep her safe.

A cute story about a damsel in distress with a killer cupcake and a sexy military hero with a sweet tooth. A small town, a cute dog, and a pesky stalker... overall, a quick 3 STAR read. I would read another book in this series again but wouldn't pay for one of the books. This was a free download and others in the series have been free at times as well.

This was a sweet book. Sara and Allen met and there was instant chemistry. He followed gut on this because it had never led him wrong. She tried to fight it, but in the end she couldn't resist him. There are quiet a few funny characters in this novel as well, Beast, Larry, Allison and Josie. But, someone from Sara's past wants her gone....for good.

Sara moves back to Pride because she wants to open a bakery and because she has been stalked by someone who tears up everything she has. She really doesn't believe the trouble will follow her home. Allen immediately realizes that Sara is the one he has been waiting for. Sara can't understand why someone like Allen is so interested in her, but she can't resist him.
