After successfully escaping Séreméla, Thia, Kiara and Mina agree to meet in the newly created safe haven of The Refuge. As a precaution they take different paths to their destination, only to discover those paths force them even farther away from one another. As one pitfall and danger after another emerges, they are once again left to wonder if there is anyone they can trust and if they will ever uncover the secrets of the Prophecy.
Cathi Shaw lives in Summerland, BC with her husband and three children. She is often found wandering around her home, muttering in a seemingly incoherent manner, particularly when her characters have embarked on new adventure. In addition to writing fiction, she is the co-author of the textbook Writing Today and the true story, Surviving Logan.
I am an independent reviewer for 'Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock'. I received this book from the author and from 'Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock'. This is my honest review.
This book is the second in a series called 'The Marked Ones.' The story is complex and well written; however, there are some typos.
The the book 'Finding Refuge' by Cathi Shaw starts out with a bang. She brings back Kiara and along with the one of the brothers Caedmon. They are on the run from hunters, trying to save children that are marked along the was to the refuge.
Teague, Caedmon's brother is missing and Thia is having disturbing visions about him. She feels a compulsion to find him before the Druids reforge their bond to him. Mina and her brother Meldiron are trying to find his old friend and help Thia find Teague.
Along their different journeys, the sisters and brothers find new allies and possible new enemies within their ranks.
This book does end in a cliff-hanger, implying that there is another book to be have.
Finding Refuge, the second book in Cathi Shaw's The Marked Ones trilogy, is here! From beginning to end readers are kept intrigued by the adventures of Kiara, Thia, and Mina. Kiara and Caedmon's exciting opening sequence continues through the book, while Thia, along with Mina and Meldiron, search for Teague. In this fantasy adventure, more questions arise about the Mark and the Prophecy, along with different friends and enemies. I am eagerly anticipating more stories about the marked ones.
Finding Refuge was an amazing book! I read it way faster than I expected to. It was fast-paced and kept me captivated the entire time. I liked how there was more than one storyline but there wasn’t so many storylines that I got confused. While reading I felt as though I was a part of the Five Corners. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
