Echoes of the neXt: Technomancer's Rise: Book 1

Rate this book
"Echoes of the neXt is a mind-bending techno-myth—part cyberpunk odyssey, part philosophical thriller."

In a fractured future where memory is currency and the past won’t stay buried, Gloria “Glow” Carter awakens after ten lost years—holding the only uncorrupted shard of Pandora’s signal.

Hunted by the Crimson Grid and haunted by versions of herself that never lived, Glow must navigate collapsing cities and shifting timelines to uncover who she was, and what she’s becoming.

Beside her stands Exodus, a man running from prophecy. Behind Chaos, the guilt-ridden architect of rebellion. Redshift, a fanatic intent on rewriting humanity itself.

Echoes of the neXt is a cyberpunk odyssey of recursion and rebellion—where identity is fragile, memory is weaponized, and every choice echoes through time.

A good first novel from an up and coming writer. Kacee Bunn-Smith has produced a great debut with strong characters who felt as though at times they were in the room with you. Their humanity was real and you could feel their pain, their passion and their desire to become someone better. The premise of the novel was intriguing and captivating and made you want to know more. Though I feel it was a difficult concept to put on the page and bring the reader with you. Kacee was able to present the concept of the neXt, weave the interplay between characters and allow the reader to be able to see what the world could become if we don’t balance AI and humanity in a way that humanity is not swayed or overtaken. I can’t wait to read more about the world of the neXt and find out more about how my favourite characters became who they are.
