I honestly have no idea how to rate this book. I loved the idea of the story and all that followed, however I couldn't connect so much to the writing style. Found it a bit lacking and poor. And from time to time it got on my nerves.

The main heroine was extremely annoying. I couldn't stand her at all. I wished so many bad things for her in my mind. Not because of her agenda, but for how she annoyed the hell out of me. I loved how she wanted to destroy him for what "he did". But she was so irritating. .. I couldn't connect to her pain and vendetta at all.

I could not even say I experienced cheating how it should be. Because both of them literally don't care about their partners at all. So I had a feeling like they aren't even in relationships. . Which made me so sad because I LOVE that in books.

It all starts too immediately. There's no build up to them. It all miraculously happens practically on first page. I mean, give me a break. Show me some more how to seduce him, how you planned and not like she is so perfect, he caves after her saying "hello".

The whole teacher/student thing doesn't live up because it's like they are never in college. If they are, it's only to portray some sexual tension.
And it just doesn't make sense that the first time they have sex he dragges her there of all places... like you need to be reminded that there's teacher/student thing going on.

It all becomes one big drama near the end, and I can't say I predicted some stuff so I was pleasently surprised in a devious way. I love things like that in books. I was happy at that part when she finds out the truth. It made me happy happy happy.

But the writing style and main heroine bugged me a lot and made me dislike the book. But the whole story and eyerolling drama made me love it. So, I need to think about how to rate it....

Zara had already planned on transferring to Northwestern, but when her cousin, Karly dies; Zara knows that that her move will be more than just attending college. It’s about getting revenge. It’s about ruining the man, the professor... but Zara has a fine line to walk as she begins to be drawn in by the Charms of Noah Bain.

When Zara transfers schools and walks into Professor Bain’s class, she knows immediately she’s caught his eye. It’s exactly what she wanted to have happened. But she didn’t expect Noah to find her so intriguing so quickly, it should make her happy that her plan is coming together much easier than she could have ever imagined... but it’s not that simple. With each step closer to her end game, something changes. Destroying the man was the plan. Not falling for him.

This was my first read from Missy Johnson and Ashely Suzanne and I was pleasantly surprised. After a few heavy reads, this New Adult Romance was just what I needed. Although the twist that came wasn’t unexpected, it still held my attention – I had an idea of the outcome, but loved seeing all the pieces fall into place.

I didn’t feel a strong connection to Zara, given what she was set out to do, I wanted just a tad more angst and back & forth from her on her feelings. But for Noah, I really, really, really liked him. Like, I could have read about fifty more pages just talking about Noah. If this is the style of writing I should expect from these two ladies, I look forward to reading their other titles.

Zara has her world torn apart with one phone call. Learning that her cousin, her best friend, killed herself rocks Zara's world. The only thing that gets her through the heartache is her plan to get revenge on the man she feels is responsible for her cousin's death. Wanting to ruin Professor Noah Bain is her goal, but she isn't prepared for the connection she feels to him.

It was really hard for me to like Zara and to understand her plan of revenge because it seemed like she forgot what her actual plan was. Most of the middle of the book focused more on her and Noah fighting their attraction and less on the actual point of the book. Zara seemed really bitchy, and didn't seem to care about anyone else, especially not her boyfriend. This made it really hard for me to believe that she could actually care for Noah.

My phone beeps, alerting me of a new message. It's Dillon, telling me he won't be home tonight. I snort. Like I actually give a damn.

Noah started off really well and I liked his character a lot in the beginning. It all went downhill from there, though, and I started to think he was just as stupid as Zara, especially considering he was supposed to be a smart college professor. It was almost like there were two Noah's, Professor Sexy in the beginning who turned into Professor Boring by the end. Luckily Professor Sexy saved the character...and ruined my panties ;)

The things I thought to do to that girl made an erotica novel look like a fucking children's book.

A big issue for me was all of the cheating that went on in this book. It seemed like everyone was in an unhappy relationship and instead of getting out of it they decided to cheat.

Overall, this was an intriguing story with a mix of romance and light mystery. The question of what really happened with Zara's cousin kept me interested the whole time reading it and, honestly, saved the book from being a complete bust for me. Despite my issues with the story and the characters this was still a good read and I can't wait to see what else the authors have in store for us.

NOTE: I feel the need to let all future readers know that there might be some triggers in this book that some may find so distasteful that they won't like the book because of it. SO, if you have prejudices against cheating in relationships that you cannot turn off while reading a fictional story then STOP and read something else. It would not be fair to the author if you rated the book poorly based on personal feelings .... ok then, moving on ...

Zara Hamilton is on a mission. She wants to destroy the man she believes is responsible for her cousin's death. And she will stop at nothing to do it. The girl can play some serious games. And she's really good at it. You gotta give her props for that. I'm not gonna lie and say that you'll like her, cuz you won't. In fact, I'd be surprised if most of you didn't down right hate her. But you shouldn't really hate her. You should hate the situation. A situation that spiraled so out of control that even I had my eyebrow raised for most of my reading ....

Noah Bain is the guy you can't help but like. He came from wealth, but you wouldn't know it from looking at him or just being with him. Instead of following 'expectations' he decided to follow his passion and become a professor. He is admirable and charming and just plain good. Mostly. He too can play games.

Zara and Noah made for a passionate team! They had great passion for each other and their chemistry was off the charts form the beginning. The dual POV in this book added to that feeling you get when you read a book and just cannot put it down because you have to know what comes next. We were in both their heads and I loved it. As a reader, it's the best place to be because I don't have to rely on someone else's opinion of what the other might be or not be. It's the best way to connect with all the major players in a story.

This story was riddled with gut wrenching emotion and heart felt moments as well. It has some mystery and suspense that isn't really hard to figure out so it doesn't take away from the romance part of the story. Some serious twist and turns that may leave your mouth open for a bit LOL ~ This is my first read by these ladies and I look forward to a lot more!

Zara is on a mission to seek revenge after her cousin dies. She sets her sights on the man she holds responsible, an English lit professor named Noah Bain. It's hard to write a review for this story, there are so many things I want to say about this but I don't want to spoil it for anyone else. There was a lot I liked and there were a few things I didn't like. I liked the direction this story took, I liked how steamy it was, I liked that it was fast paced and I really liked the writing. What I didn't like is that there were more unlikeable characters than there were likeable characters, some of the twists were obvious from the beginning and there was one particular character who really annoyed me. Overall though, I really enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone who loves a revenge themed romance.

I've read books by both authors that I've really enjoyed. But holy wowzers when these two get together to write a story they blew my mind. From start to finish its a gripping read.

Zara is out for revenge. She's looking for revenge of the suicide of her cousin and best friend Karly. That's how she finds herself as a student to Professor Noah. When she starts having feelings for him can she still go ahead with revenge??

I've got to admit I didn't see the twist coming which is a great plus for me. When you read as many books as I do I crave surprise and this book did that for me.
Two great authors just gave me a super read. I highly recommend this book.

First of all, it needs to be said that I am most certainly not a fan of books written by two people. Weird, I know. But I do have reasons. What if the authors are great together but their books are crap when they write alone and then they never write another book together after I've fallen in love with their combined writing style?!? Or what if the authors are horrible together and then I never give either of them another shot because that one co-written book is just the worst thing ever and I miss out on their solo books and they are awesome?!? OR ... well, I don't have another or right now but I might come up with one later. Probably not though. But those are my reasons. Well, it's really just one reason and just said differently another way. Fine. That's my one reason why I don't like co-authors.

Whew. With that out of the way I can safely tell you that this was one amazing book. I didn't mind the co-authoring this time! Total success! I really, really, REALLY enjoyed it. The whole seducing a teacher thing isn't new by any means but I've never read a book that revolved around that and certainly not a book that had a vendetta as the reason why there was some seducing going on. I will say this, a big thank you to the authors for not making Zara (the main character) wear one of those cliche plaid skirt and knee sock concoctions. When I read the professor part, I was just totally for sure that the authors would do this but for once, I was wrong and man, am I glad that I was. I fell in love with the main character, Zara, pretty quickly. I loved her spunk and sass that she seemed to approach everything with.

The plot was absolutely perfectly paced. I never felt a lag in the storyline or the yearn for more info. I did feel a bit pissed with the novel at the end but that was only because it was over and I just wanted more of the story. This was one that I was really sad with when it was over because being the greedy reader that I am, I just wanted more. The writing style of Missy Johnson and Ashley Suzanne created one of my favorite and memorable reading experiences that I've had in a long time. I don't know how these two write on their own but together, they are gold. I will pick up anything that has both of their names on it in the future and I know that I'll get immersed in a story that I won't want to put down and will never forget about. Breaking Noah will be reread (and probably soon). You need to get your hands on this book right now. I promise, you won't regret it.

I have not read books by either of these authors but have always heard great things about them. So hey - why not read one book by them both!

The story of student and professor is usually the same type of plot and same outcome. Breaking Noah is different where the student is already aware of the professor and has a plan already in place. Zara had already planned on attending the same college, but her reasoning for going completely changed. But there is always 3 parts to a story - A side, B side and the truth.

Breaking Noah is story of lies, deceit, revenge, seduction and secrets. Zara goes in thinking she has everything taken care of and things go almost too perfectly for her. Noah walks right into the trap Zara has set. But the end game is not what anyone expects.

Missy and Ashley did a great job of leaving some mystery to the book but also letting the reader know what is going to happen. And it would be so obvious to the characters as to what was happening, if they would just open their eyes and not let their emotions interpret what they are truly seeing.

Breaking Noah has a great plot and the characters are really good. However, my one itch was the writing style - they didn't blend as well as other books I have read that are co-authored. There were certain parts where I felt some things were missing and possibly parts better explained. Other than that - the book was awesome.

I enjoyed reading the book and would definitely read more by the authors.

I am not sure how to rate this book. I liked the storyline, I liked the male hero-Noah is suuuuch a great book boyfriend-, but something was missing.
Okay, we have Zara. Zara is full of hate and revenge for the man who hurt her cousin, Karly. Karly fell in love with a man who left her pregnant. When she realizes that he doesn't want their baby, she decides to end her life in order to stop the pain. Some time after her suicide, Zara decides it is time to take her revenge. For Karly's sake, she is willing to drag down the man responsible for her death. With some facts in her hand, and a shell of her former shelf, she goes after Noah Bain. Noah is a professor in Karly's college and supposedly the man who broke her heart and made her commit suicide.
Things get tricky for Zara when she realizes that she might possibly be attracted to her cousin's murderer. As things get heated between them and Noah is willing to break every rule to be with Zara, secrets and lies are revealed. Is everything Zara believes right? Is Noah the culprit? Is everything as it seems to be? You need to read to find out!
The book was fast paced and emotionally compelling, but my immediate dislike for Zara kind of ruined the experience for me. On the other hand, I loved Noah and I suppose he is the sole reason I am rating this 3.75 stars. I am not saying I didn't enjoy it, but I couldn't connect with Zara at all and she was the good person here!

I didn't really enjoy this book as much as I thought I would, the key com p moment in that was the cheating. Noah he was an alright man, "s***. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I just don't know what to do here, Zara. I just don't know." I didn't make a lot of notes or highlights because the cheating just really irritated me.

“Breaking Noah” captivated me from the very start. I found the storyline intriguing, and I was eager to see how this unique concept would eventually all play out. Though I guessed early on as to the actual circumstances that surrounded Karly’s death, it did not detract from my enjoyment of this story.

I’m well aware that the very notion of a teacher/student relationship is a turn-off for some people, but seeing as how Zara was in college and of legal age--only a few years younger than Noah, in fact--this wasn’t really an issue for me. Sure, the fact that Zara was a student in his class did breach some ethical/moral lines on Noah’s part, but the truth is that Noah did nothing illegal--they were both consenting adults! In fact, I would argue that Zara, in her quest for revenge, also breached many ethical lines with her outwardly aggressive pursuit of Noah.

Another issue I’d like to address is the fact that both Noah and Zara were in relationships with other people. While I don’t condone cheating, we learn early on that Zara’s boyfriend, Dillon, is a complete and utter jerk. Dillon did his own fair share of cheating and seemed to care very little for Zara OR their relationship. For Zara, she stayed with Dillon merely out of convenience. He provided a roof over her head and little more. Noah’s relationship with his girlfriend, Shannon, was also far from ideal. Long before Zara entered the picture, we learned that their relationship was lacking. And as the story progresses, more truths about their relationship comes to light, extinguishing any lingering doubts I had about this seemingly happy couple.

The attraction between Zara and Noah was palpable. Despite evidence to the contrary, I wanted to believe that Noah was the decent man he outwardly portrayed. I wanted their connection to be REAL. Circumstances and consequences aside, I wanted them to be together--to find happiness in each other’s arms while pushing the rest of the world aside. How that was possible, I hadn’t a clue. But I’m a romantic at heart, so I held out hope… desperately wanting Zara and Noah to find their HEA!

Breaking Noah is the first book that I have read that was co-authored by Missy Johnson and Ashley Suzanne. Though I have read Missy Johnson before, I was unfamiliar with Ashley Suzanne. I wondered how these two would write together, and I have to say that the writing was good in my opinion. It flowed well and I thought that the book was cohesive and didn't seem to have two separate voices as can sometimes be the case with more than one author. While we did get both Noah and Zara's POVs in this story, I thought that they worked really well together. I did have some mixed feelings when it came to the story itself though.

Zara Hamilton thought that she had life all planned out, but then her cousin died and everything changed. When she finds out more about Karly's death, Zara sets out to right the wrong that took her best friend from her. She plans to seduce and destroy the man responsible. As she sets out to break Noah Bain, she quickly finds out that the college professor isn't who she had thought she was though and things begin to change. Will Zara continue with her plan to make Noah pay, or will she give in to the attraction and connection she feels to the one man she knows she shouldn't want?

I liked Noah. He was sexy and sweet. He came from a well off family and decided to pursue his passion rather than give in and do what they expected of him, and I really admired that about him. He was a great guy, and you could tell that he struggled with being in the position he was. He never expected to be caught between his profession and someone he could see a future with. Zara on the other hand I had issues with. If I am honest, she is the biggest thing I disliked about this story. I understood that she was trying to deal with the loss of her cousin/best friend, but the things she did were unacceptable to me at times. She was immature and annoying and I just really couldn't stand her. I felt like there was real chemistry between Zara and Noah though, and that was part of the problem I had with her actions. I wanted her to stop doing what she was and see what had been clear to me from pretty early on. The other thing that bothered me about these two was the fact that they were cheating. Each of them had a significant other that they were cheating on, and yet neither one of them was committed to the relationships they were in. They weren't happy and didn't seem to have any reason for continuing to be with them, so I really didn't like the fact that they didn't just end those relationships. Zara and Noah together almost didn't seem to be cheating to me because of the way things were, but then it would be brought up again and I would be reminded of the situations they were in.

I did like the fact that this one was so steamy though, and like I said before Noah and Zara had great chemistry. The authors did a great job of showing the passion and desire between these two. This story was fast paced and started off right away. I liked that there wasn't a ton of slow build-up, but rather that we pretty much hit the ground running. It kept me interested and turning the pages to find out what would happen next, even if Zara was getting on my nerves the whole way through. While I had things figured out early on and I knew what would happen for the most part, I was interested and engaged and wanted to keep reading to see if I was correct. I think that was due to the fact that I really liked Missy and Ashley's writing, and also that I loved the dual POV. If it had been easier to like or relate to Zara, I really think this one would have been a home run for me. If you are looking for something sexy and fast paced, I think you might like this one. I would read more from these authors in the future, and I think that they make a great writing team. I will look for more from them and I am curious to see what they do next.

Ashley Suzanne and Missy Johnson did a great job co-writing this book. I could not tell the difference in their writing style...It flowed effortlessly.

What Zara was not prepared for was the twist in her plan once her recorded evidence falls in the wrong person's hands. This course of action causes a downward spiral in her plan for revenge. She also wasn't prepared for her heart to overtake her head. Was she falling for the man that she set out to destroy?

Will Zara follow her heart or will she listen to her conscience???

This story has many twists and turns...some I predicted and some that caught me off guard...& that I loved...but I needed more!

I must honestly say that I did not like Zara. I didn't feel a connection with her...but NOAH...I connected 100%. I connected with him right from the start. I just wanted to yell at Zara and shake some sense into her...at times I just wanted to rip her hair out!!! Ugh!!

I definitely recommend this book...I just needed more. I love Ashley Suzanne and I love her passion for writing. You will not be disappointed in this book. Read it now!!!

There was so much I loved about this book and then again, so much I hated, I didn't know whether to go enroll in some college classes or commit homicide!

Zars is a girl who lost her best friend in the world, her cousin Karly, to suicide and she is out for revenge against the man that caused that to happen. Without much thought or evidence, she concocts a scheme that will bring that man to his knees and this is the story of that journey.

Let's start with what I loved.

A teacher/student affair is normally looked down upon and in most cases, it's pretty gross. That is however, because we assume that the age difference between the two participants spans decades and the student is normally of illegal age. Now, what if I told you this story was between a college student and her professor and the age difference was really only about 6 years and the student is old enough to buy alcohol? Changes things a bit right? Might even sound a little sexy perhaps? YES... Give me a hot, sexy, nerd any day! Put "Professor" in front of his name and I'll be putty in your hands and that is what we find in Breaking Noah. The concept of this book is what intrigued me, but it was the writing and super, sexy, love scenes that had me turning page after page. Ms. Johnson and Ms. Suzanne really took a matter that could have easily been a disaster and turned it into a story worth reading and turned scenes that could be viewed as "icky" into "yummy".

What didn't work for me.

The ending and Zars. Pure and simple. With such a taboo topic for a story line, the ending just didn't quiet hit the mark for me. It was almost too fairy tale. I would have expected a little more grit and edginess and instead I got a nice little package with a bow on top. Don't get me wrong, I do love when my stories are wrapped up nice and pretty, but with the seriousness of the subject matter and the build up of the story line, the ending just fell flat and the epilogue only frustrated me more. Also, to be honest, I had a severe love/hate relationship with Zars. Though I was compassionate to her plight and understood some of her actions, the immaturity and Jekyll/Hyde personality she displayed through most of the book was painful, at best.

Overall, I would recommend this book to readers looking for a fun, sexy read, because it is that, but don't expect too much more.

What I liked from the read....

I must say I indeed enjoyed this read. The authors really know to to keep your attention turning the pages until the very end. How these two authors came up with such a amazing story of a person who would go to extreme measures to seduce a teacher for revenge and what happens when the truth comes to light. What was very interesting about this was all of this information that was put into play came from a letter that was left after a death. Will this heroine fall prey to the one that she thinks is responsible for the death? I thought that the plot was well administrated to the reader. However, I was not too surprise with the outcome because I had guessed early on in the read who the person was that was really behind it all but still this was a well written good read. I thought the authors did a wonderful job giving the reader some well developed, defined, well portrayed and believable characters that did carry the reader on a emotional dramatic journey till the very end. I will say I loved how these authors gave the reader a 'the end' of a read and I would definitely recommend this book to any reader who is looking for a good sexy enjoyable read.

Usually with a Professor and student novel there tends to be “weirdness” however, there wasn’t much age difference in the Professor and the student. Hey, the student could go out to clubs, have a glass a wine and indulge in relationships due to her being of age. It definitely turned this book into something realistic.
Zara moved to Northwestern to be where her cousin, Karly was. Her and Karly were close like sisters, or so Zara thought. Maybe there is more distance between them than she ever knew could exist. Zara finds the professor Karly couldn’t stop talking about, and Zara makes a plan. She plans to get his attention, and make him beg for her.
The plot of this story had me up until 3am, I was flipping pages so fast, I wanted to know where the plot was going as it began to thicken with more tensity. I enjoyed getting to know most of the characters but Dillion, he came off as a complete ass. I guess he just truly is.
What I didn’t enjoy?
There were parts in the book that just didn’t seemed to “click” with me, it seemed that some parts were forced together, or details were missing. I was never pulled into the main characters connection like I wanted. I felt something didn’t develop there. I was more tied up in the storyline/plot than I was the characters, thus is why I am not liberating in what I loved about them, because to be frank I think they will be forgotten, but the storyline will always be remembered. I hope that makes sense.
On another hand, the storyline and, or plot was suspenseful, intriguing, shocking and had me wanting to continue to find out more. I truly enjoyed the idea.
Noah was more likely to get to known than the others just due to his character: his charm, humor, and at times seriousness.

While I started the book with a "WHAT THE HECK!" (the prologue really trough me for a loop..I so wasn't expecting what happened to happen) it turned out to be a pretty good book. I wish I could have given it five stars but at times Zara really got on my nerves. I really liked Noah and the chemistry he had with Zara was hot, I just wish she wasn't so vindictive. That being said, it was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more books by Missy Johnson and Ashley Suzanne.

3.5 Stars --- Overall this was a decent read… and if you like student/teacher romances, you’ll most likely enjoy this book.

Things I liked:
*This was a hot student/teacher romance
*The romance between professor/student was with an “of-age” student, with very little age difference between Zara and Professor Bain
*Professor Bain’s character

Things I didn’t like:
*Zara’s boyfriend – I questioned why she stayed with him… it seemed out of character as the book progressed
*Zara’s personality and actions in the 2nd half of the book. Things just didn’t match up so well for me there. I didn’t understand why she did many of the things she did… and it seemed out of character for her.

Despite the few things I didn't like... I would have still read this, BECAUSE it's a student/teacher romance. I love ALL s/t romances. So, if you're like me... and you love s/t romances... you'll want to read this one too!!!

Breaking Noah gets your attention from the very first chapter, and you just want to find out why things turned out the way they did. I love how the book had an original feel to it with some steamy love scenes, and a nice twist. I just wish we got to know Zara the heroine a little better because I feel like the only things I know about her is that she is conniving, bitter, lonely, empty, and angry. I just found myself not relating to her, and not having much sympathy. I actually got a pretty good feel for Noah the hero, and I ended up feeling bad for him, and just wanted Zara to stay away. Nevertheless, I still really enjoyed reading Breaking Noah! Thank you Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept for providing me with an ARC via Netgalley.

I have enjoyed reading books from both of these authors so I was really looking forward to this book. Sadly, it did not work for me at all. I felt no character in the book had redeeming qualities, and the plot was not believable to me. Most people seem to love it; thus, it's probably just me so don't be discourage because of my experience.

I will say that it is very sexy and angsty. If you're looking for that type of read, it may be perfect for you. Contains cheating, suicide, conspiracy, revenge, scandals, cover ups and über sexual tension.

I received a copy of this young adult story through NetGalley from the publisher/author for an honest review. This is a standalone book told in alternating points of view between the main characters - Zara and Noah (and the cousin in the prologue). Zara's cousin commits suicide and her death is the catalyst for everything that happens in this book.

Here's what I really liked about the story:
The authors did an excellent job by building the tension and overall tone from the first page. I was immediately immersed into the characters and on the edge of my seat as to how this would all play out. I may have a bit of a crush on Noah. I can't say I agree with his actions when it came to Zara, but the authors wrote him in a way that made him human, fallible and pulled it all together to make me sympathetic for predicament. I really liked Zara when she was being her true self. I know she's a different person post-Karly, but there were times when she was a relaxed and comfortable college student. We had very few glimpses into that side of Zara, but when it was there I really liked her a lot. I also liked a few of the way over on the side characters - Melanie, her sister Heather, and Luke. They helped to balance Zara and remind me she's a college student with more than just revenge on her mind.

Here's what didn't quite work for me personally:
Zara as the sex pot, come hither seduce my teacher shtick got old as it went on and we knew she was developing feelings for Noah. I needed more of her vulnerable and true self to come out than it did. As a consequence I felt increasingly detached from Zara and began to dislike her around the middle of the book. We're told from early on as she enters the classroom that she doesn't like to stand out or have attention drawn to her. I would think she'd have a lot harder time (comfort level at least) with the way she seduced Noah relentlessly. Noah feels alive and has these primal feelings for Zara, but I never understood if he knew the real Zara beyond chemistry since she rarely showed him that side of her. What happens to Noah is life altering on a national scale (literally) and I understand he has conflicting feelings, but the scene in the cabin was too easy given the timing of the circumstances. I'm not one who likes a lot of drama/angst in books, but I needed more here so soon after everything had just come to a climax. Ironically, the authors did such a great job making me very sympathetic and outraged on Noah's behalf that I felt protective of him.

Here's what's going to alienate a lot of readers: the cheating angle. The cheating isn't a blip in the story - it's pretty much the main component of the plot. In no way do I condone or accept cheating. For some reason, I was very detached and not stomach-dropping upset over the use of it in this story. I think it's primarily because EVERY one of the core characters was cheating. Seriously - how could Noah even consider not using a condom given EVERYONE's penchant for tiddly winks?? It made me feel like there were different levels of cheating. I didn't give a flip over Zara and Dillon's relationship and didn't feel like their heart was ever in that relationship as they were basically roommates. Noah and Shannon did bother me as they had at least felt very strongly for each other for several years. The authors really got you into Noah's conscience and conflicted feelings about his relationship with Shannon, so it made it more of an issue. I may not have liked Shannon, but that one needed to be sorted out beforehand. I think the prevalent cheating in this story is going to upset a lot of readers as it's unavoidable throughout the story and always at the forefront of your mind. Usually it bothers me, but for some reason (detachment from these characters?) it didn't make me hate the book on that alone.

The title of this book is very apt! In this story it's not just Noah breaking, but every one of the characters are broken in some way. Ashley Suzanne's book, Calling Card, was one of my favorite books in 2014 (seriously - go one-click that sucker right now!). I have a few of Missy Johnson's books in my wish list so I'm definitely going to continue to check out both of these authors and their writings.

At A Glance
Great story, but the characters' actions were hard to take.
The Good
Who doesn't love a good revenge story? Zara is convinced her deceased cousin's professor, Noah, is the reason her cousin killed herself. Commence revenge plan: seduce Noah, record seduction, then ruin Noah in every way possible.

Zara was kind of a crazy bitch but I couldn't blame her. I'd go a little crazy if my cousin/best friend committed suicide because of a guy. I loved Zara's blasé attitude about screwing and ruining Noah. She has very little care about her body or reputation. She was all about the revenge, that was the focus. Then those damn feelings started creeping in. Stupid feelings. I understood. Noah is kind of irresistible. He is not perfect though. But still, he does have a very good heart and he really cares for people. He's a rare breed in that way. I would have loved to have had a teacher like that in college.

The events that played out were a crazy ride of fucked up. I loved seeing Zara seduce Noah, she was so aggressive and confident. Very Poison Ivy-esk. When things went down, it was heartbreaking and I just couldn't see them getting past everything. But I felt satisfied with the surprise ending.
The Bad
Even though I loved Zara and Noah in a lot of ways, I hated their actions. They are both cheaters (not that they had the best partners, but still). Zara was faking interest in Noah from the beginning, so it was hard to hope she ended up with him. Noah didn't know the real Zara. Plus, Zara's plan for revenge was half-assed and that just didn't sit well with me. I expect more out of her.

Noah is a good guy, he really is, but the way he fell for Zara when she was so obviously playing a game of seduction, it made me think less of him.  If they were falling in love, I could see rule breaking being okay, but this was animal attraction and sex. Come on, Noah, you're smarter than that.
The Snuggly
There is a lot of sexual tension, foreplay and a sex scene or two. It was actually really hot because Noah was so buttoned up and shy in a lot of ways, but he is a domineering animal in the sack. I loved it. So did Zara.
Final Thoughts
Breaking Noah was an odd one for me. I liked it, but my love/hate relationships with the characters left me conflicted. I expected more out of this book, but I don't regret reading it. I do recommend it because I think a lot of people could like it as long as they like flawed characters and can handle the concept of cheating.

I'm a huge a Of Missy Johnsons and Ashley Suzanne's books so I was really excited to get a review copy of Breaking Noah. It sounded amazing and I couldn't wait to read it.
I was not disappointed at all. Breaking Noah was just as good as I thought it would be, if not better.
This story is told from alternative POV's which I absolutely love. This really helps me connect more with the characters as you get to look in each character's mind more deeply than you do with just 1 POV.
I really enjoyed that the authors built up the tension of the story at a good pace. This made the story more enticing and mysterious as to what was going to happen next. I never knew what would happen from page after page and I found I was on the edge of my seat reading the book throughout most of the book. The authors are both very credited authors and I loved how they would drop you tiny bits of information for you to grab hold off and be left wanting more. They managed to drop all the pieces at the exact moment to keep you wanting more and keep the reader enticed and wanting more.
The start of the story is very gut wrenching. We are not given much information about what's happened other than a girl called Karly calls her best friend who is also her cousin Zara and then commits suicide. There is a mystery surrounding around the whole event, but the scenes are upsetting and pulls very hard at your heart strings.
Zara wants to find out why and what happened to Karly. So she moves to Karly!s university to try and find out what happened and get her revenge.
Zara signs up to Noah Bain's class because she wants to get close to Noah and take him down and get revenge as she believes he is the reason her cousin committed suicide
Noah is a young professor who is struggling to come to terms with his failed relationship. He is a huge flirt and loves women and doesn't care who knows it. So When he first meets Zara he feels an attraction towards each other immediately. Zara wants his attention and she gets it.
Their relationship is slightly odd. At the start Noah is kind and caring and it seems they are falling for each other. That is until a HUGE twist comes bang out of nowhere and smacks you in the face. I have to say I never saw that trust coming and I loved the surprise and the aftermath.
The characters were brilliant. They were developed very well throughout the whole book and both authors wrote a fantastic story.
The book however does have taboo subjects throughout the story through that others may not like. The book has teacher/student relationships, cheating, plotted revenge and suicide throughout the whole book. I had no problem reading about these things, they made the story, but I no others may not like these subjects or find them unsuitable in a book.
All the issues were handled with care by the authors and they got their point across in a sensitive but effective manner.
The story was full of everything I loved. Emotion, great characters, mystery, suspense, great twists and creative unpredictable writing.
Great job from both authors. Loved the book.

Holy mother of all emotions. I seriously could not put down this book. It's just too good. It was like watching an intensely awesome movie. I was immensely caught up with everything going on between Noah and Zara. Professor Noah Bain. Holy crap. His sweet, gentlemanly ways with Zara was out of this world. The ways he tried to ignore and stop the attraction he feels for her was surprisingly so adorable. He was the perfect hero. He and his dirty mouth just amped up the heat of that forbidden love given the situation he's in with Zara. Holy freaking hotness. And it wasn't only the student-teacher relationship that made this story so interesting. It was how all the characters came together—who played what and how that character fell into the whole puzzle. Zara Hamilton was brilliant. She thought of all the ways she could avenge her cousin, best friend and confidante's life. It was perfect. Until she realized a lot of things and got the answers she was seeking for even before going to Northwestern University.

Breaking Noah had this tremendous way of showing the value of what a true relationship is and if the person you're with is really the one you're willing and want to settle down with, no matter how long you've been with them. It also touches on how a mistake and it's consequences could ruin a person and that person's life. Worse, even take that person's life away from this world. It's so much to take in. I was so overwhelmed with emotions while reading this one. I can't even find the words to do this book justice. If you're into the student-teacher relationship stories or not, you have got to read this book. It got me hooked from the very beginning, I tell ya. So damn freaking good. ~Renery, 5 stars

One of my favorite type of books I enjoy reading entail student and teacher relationships. As with any story like this I expected the typical meeting and connections; this one however, the purpose and outcome in this novel was totally surprising and making the story angles one that I could not put down.

Mid semester, Zara Hamilton begins taking classes at Northwestern University and English Professor, Noah Bain is the class that she needs/wants to take but for other reasons than credits on her transcripts.

From their first encounter on the first day of class Zara’s main focus was to find a resolution to her cousin’s death--to seduce her professor and gets some answers. However, the connection between student and teacher was heightened each time they were in the same room together whether inside or outside the classroom which then lead to lines beginning to blur and Zara’s original plan taking a twist into another direction.

This 4.5 stars read was more than I had expected with an extra bonus on the whole purpose of the book. It will make you look at the overall picture, teach you the true cost of a relationship, and value your worth. It had a bit of mystery with the inevitable sexual tension. It will definitely leave readers with the feels and goosebumps and I highly recommend the read. ~Cristina, 4.5 stars

By this, she experiences all kinds of emotions and all she wants to do now is to avenge her cousin's death. "REVENGE", was what she focused on. The man whom she thinks responsible for her cousin to end her life was none other than, Mr. Bain.



Noah is a twenty-seven years old teacher and has been with his girlfriend since they were in college. Being with Shannon for years, has become an obligation and a convenience for him. Shannon is a trust fund baby and she's become a lazy person. She spends her money on unnecessary things. It's been four years since she graduated and still has no job. Noah is getting tired of her laziness and has lost the old feelings he once had for Shannon. Some feelings he misses has been brought back by another girl. The first time he laid eyes on her, who happens to be his student, she's all he ever thinks about. This is dangerous grounds and could only end badly.

Plotting a revenge takes a lot of courage and won't be easy. It's all Zara ever wanted, to avenged her cousin's death. But how long can this charade go on until someone get's hurt? Things aren't always what they seem. And that being said...when the truth comes out, will either Zara or Noah get what they truly deserve? Reading their story and getting to know them was very intriguing. It pulled me in from just reading the blurb. It will have you guessing each page you turn. And when you get to the end of their story, after all the twists and turns, you will want to read the entire book again and again.

I highly recommend this book to readers who love suspense with hot and steamy romance. Thanks so much for giving me this chance to get to know Noah and Zara, Missy.

The Characters:
The hero of the book was portrayed to be the bad guy in the beginning, however much like the heroine I found myself being drawn to him even though he had a girlfriend, as well as other reasons I should’ve hated him. For some reason he gave me the Mr. Schu from Glee vibe but younger and sexier. The heroine on the other hand was PISSING me off throughout the entire book. Although I don’t usually believe in double standards I was mad she was living with her boyfriend and openly entertaining other guys. I live with my boyfriend and that shit could NEVER go down like that! I know, I know! I need to let it go and hold the hero accountable too. Whatever…. She was also very petty and quick on the trigger. She was described as being so intelligent but made some dumb ass decisions without thinking through the consequences beforehand.

The Story:
I’ve been reading romance novels for almost 15 years (I’m only 28) and this is the first teacher-student relationship book I’ve come across. I didn’t have high expectations going into this book and I ended up being pleasantly surprised! If I had to describe this book in one word it would be “MESSY”... OoOoOo chile! *in my southern voice*… There was so much drama and backstabbing but I loved every second of it!!! I love when a book is so good I don’t want to put it down. I found myself picking it up every chance I got. Score! There were a couple of grammatical errors but I still thought the dialogue was easy to follow. It wasn’t a fluffy read at all and the story pulled me in from that very first tragic scene. I knew I was getting angst and these authors definitely delivered on that front. Although, it is a romance novel it also kind of turned into a mystery for me with the whole “who done it” aspect thrown in. My only issue with this read was the fact that it wasn’t harder for the main characters to wrap up everything at the end once the shit hit the fan. There were a couple of unanswered questions and I found it hard to believe the antagonist would take their payday lying down like that.

The Love:
I’m a romance junkie so this topic has to get its own section. These characters were made for each other (well duh right? Lol)…. You know you’ve found your soul mate when you think he did something as deplorable as the heroine thought the hero did and you STILL fall for him! He was just so sweet and dreamy! When they chilled together it was just… Simple…. Fuzzy… PERFECT!!! They didn’t even need the sex as the only actual sex scene in the book didn’t happen until around the end of the book when the shit hit the fan. That doesn’t mean they didn’t scorch up the pages during the rest of the story. Those other things they did were definitely blush worthy! *fans myself*

All in all, I thought this was a fantastic read and highly recommend it to others. You won’t want to put it down!

Zara had a great life. With great grades and well on her way to gaining the grades she needs to study law, everything was going her way. Until her cousin and best friend, Karly committed suicide. Karly sends one note prior to taking her life. A note that reveals she was pregnant and the father of her baby was less than impressed. Fuelled by rage and an intense need to find justice for Karly’s death, Zara hatches a plan. Find the man responsible for the death of her friend, Noah Bain, and destroy him.

Noah is an English Lit professor. After a hard year in which one of his students took her own life, Noah feels the need to make sure that nothing like that ever happens again.

When Zara breezes into Noah’s class half way through the semester, Noah has the gut feeling that something is off. All of Zara’s transcripts indicate she was working toward law as her major, so why has she suddenly changed it to English Lit, moreover why has she moved at such a strange time, and, having missed out on a room at the College—where is she staying?

As Noah’s concern leads him to Zara’s door, he’s unwittingly playing into her hands. Brick by brick, Zara lowers his defenses until she has him exactly where she wants him.

But things aren’t as they seem. Everything Zara think she knows starts to no longer make sense. Noah is sweet, caring and hot as hell and she finds herself struggling to keep at bay the feelings beginning to develop for him. And as missing pieces of the puzzle start to click together—Zara realizes she’s in way over her head.

The complexities of this book – where to start? Zara is hell set on revenge and determined to destroy Noah. From the moment her chapters begin, it’s apparent that she’s really struggling to deal with Karly’s death. She’s withdrawn, doesn’t make friends and her behavior screams crazy. She throws herself at Noah, although I think she thought she was being subtle – she really wasn’t. Although her intentions are admirable – to get justice for her friend, the way she goes about it leaves a lot to be desired. That is not to say that this was a negative part of the book, on the contrary, Zara is messed up and her actions show that.

I found Noah a bit of a bore. He is sweet and he does try to keep everyones best interests at heart, but he just didn’t float my boat. Also, the bossy side of him during sex just did not, in any way, tie into his personality.
The plot is really good and the book is written really well. There are a few twists and turns along the way, although I think they were a little obvious. Some parts of it were just too brushed under the carpet, for example Noah and his girlfriend’s relationship. I didn’t fall in love with either of the characters and the ending was a little too easy for my liking.
