Two years on the run. Two years since Jennifer Clarkson fled for her life and now she’s back, but Whispering Pines has changed. Two years ago The Death Crusaders battled their rivals the Devil’s Advocates and the Sleazebags MC and it did not go well. The resulting chaos left dozens of hardcore bikers injured, fatally wounded or dead and scores imprisoned. In twenty-four hours Whispering Pines became a zero tolerance no man’s land for bikers of any breed. “Show your cut, go to jail” was the Mayor’s promise. Jennifer Clarkson thought she was coming back to start her life over with Blade the new president of the rag-tag band of what’s left of the Death Crusaders but what she got was not what she expected. The moment she rides into town her life is in danger and the man she had fallen in love with is not the same man he was when she fled. When her first stop is the town’s cemetery it becomes clear to her that the life she had known has been lost to her. Unable to tell her new friends from her enemies both new and old, Jennifer Clarkson becomes a minor sleuth and searches for answers others are dying to protect. How many people will have to die for her curiosity and will there be anyone left that she cares for? All she has to do is stay alive for ten days; easy right?
Purge is a fast-paced race against time that does not let up until the last page is turned. Detailed thoughtful descriptions give way to crisp, clear, and witty dialogue in a story that is as violent and it is provocative and will have readers cringing and blushing at the same time.
This gritty contemporary romance novel is the second book in the Death Crusaders MC series, contains scenes of explicit violence and sexual content.
When I heard that Sandy Kline has a sequel to 'Broken' out, I delved right in and was not disappointed at all. Sandy grabbed me with the get go and immediately had me attached to every page, hanging on for dear life to see what the next page would reveal. Every page is packed with the perfect amount of action, grit, hardcore, and sexual tension. There is so much detail in the scenes, and the dialogue is a lot more than the first one, and really gets you into knowing why the characters are doing what they're doing.
The storyline is two years after Jenny has fled from the place she thought was home. She is now back and in a place where her friends aren't her friends and her enemies aren't her enemies. She's a world where she's frantically trying to find answers wherever she can, in turn causing death after death after death. How many deaths does Jenny cause? Does she ever find out answers? You'll have to get this novel and find out!
Purge, being the sequel to Sandy Kline's first novel in the Death Crusaders series' Broken, has come a long way from her first one! This one is has come a far way from the first and is jam packed to the brim full of action, violence, sex, and grit. Jennifer is back in town and the town she thought she fled from, the world she thought she knew, and the man she thought she fell in love with, is nothing like she thought. She's lost in a world she doesn't know anymore and will do whatever it takes go get the answers she needs.
Sandy really grabs you again and keeps you glued to the pages. If you read Broken, you absolutely have got to read Purge!!
As an avid reader, "Purge" was a relatively quick read for me. I enjoyed the characters and the mystery, it made me want to keep on reading to figure out what was going to happen. Pretty good storyline, it flows nicely. This is a series I am looking forward to reading more of.
