Discovering who my dom was turned out to be life-changing. John wasn't just someone I knew, but someone I'd fantasized about. His sharply tailored suits, his delicious muscles, his hands on me. Finding out he'd actually been the one doing such naughty things to me when I'd been blindfolded was almost too much for me to handle, but he refused to let me run. Forced me to see that everything I could ever want was right in front of me.
Letting Alix go was out of the question. She was mine and I would make her see it. If I had to tie her down and spank it into her, I would happily do so. There were too many things I still wanted to do with her to let her escape my clutches, my playroom. Everything seemed to be going fine until a woman from my past entered the picture.
Stories are twisted, lies are told, hearts are broken. Who is telling the truth? Is what they have worth saving?

I received a free copy from the author to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. This is book two of the Cravings Series and it is better than the first. John and Alix are getting more involved in their Dom/sub relationship. Both seem to want more outside of that relationship and things seem perfect when they are together. While John is helping Alix with her addiction, she will let her mind take over sometimes and let things get out of hand. While John hires his ex-Mariah, he doesn’t tell Alix who she is but Mariah is all too happy to tell her or better yet to let her overhear conversations that are all about John and her but the news is only for Alix. When Alix runs and leaves both John and herself feeling broken, can they see the truth? Will John convince her that he really does love her and he is not cheating on her? What will Mariah do to try and win John back? I love this series and this one is a perfect as the beginning. I love Rachael’s writing style and I can’t wait for book 3. I need it now!
This book was gifted & received in exchange for an honest review.
4 "Gave Me A Craving" Stars
Fiend is the 2nd book in the "Cravings" series and takes up where book 1 "Addict" left off. These books do need to be read in order and this particular book does end with a cliffhanger.
I liked this book a lot more than the first one, but it reminded me a little too much of "Fifty Shades Darker". I loved the story & characters but just was hoping for a little more originality. I loved how broken they become when they are apart in contrast to how whole John & Alix become when they are together.
The cliffhanger at the end has me ready to delve into book 3 "Toxic" which is newly released. Rachel Orman is fast becoming one of my "go-to" writers.
Straight back on the tale of where the first book ended, this is the continuation of John and Alix’s story. Alix now knows who her Master is and it is taking a little getting used to. Trying to get her head around the fact that the man that controls her every move when she is his submissive at Scene, is the man that she has watched lustfully at work, has messed with her head but armed with this I had to say that I was hopeful that they would be able to take a step forward and perhaps develop a relationship outside of the club. The connection between the two of them is so hot it will have you reaching for the fan but what held my attention was the fact that the two of them seemed prepared to give what they have the opportunity to grow. John is a fabulously dominant man but he has a softer side that every now and then he lets loose. The way he feels for Alix is different for him, it shakes his perceptions and gives him cause to feel more than he had anticipated but Alix, she is still riddled with self-doubt – she needs the constant reassurance that John and his dominant personality can give her – she needs to know that under his care and control she needn’t really on herself and her urges – because he will always take care of her. I was a touch miffed with her really, I got that she was the way she was and that under John her addition could be controlled – but that was John’s doing – I thought that she had really only replaced one addiction with another – her sex addition with her addition to John. The secrets from book one are still abound, has nobody ever heard of actually telling the truth! They are victims of their own lies and I have no sympathy with them. The fact that they refuse to open up completely means that they leave themselves vulnerable, they open the door to doubt and misunderstanding and for others to use that against them … point in question being Mariah, John’s delusional ex. Honestly people – open up! A well written and sharp read that is hot enough to have you looking for the shade in which to cool yourself down.
~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~ This book was even better than the first! I love how much John and Alix have grown. I could feel the intensity between the characters and I loved it. Of course there is a monkey wrench thrown in, John’s ex, Mariah. Ugh, just the name alone made me hate her character LOL. The sex scenes were hot and at times the enveloped was pushed but that was ok too. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next! Characters: The characters were well written Sex: holy hotness Religious: no Would I recommend to others: yes More than one book in the series: yes Genre: BDSM/Romance Would I read more by this author: yes ~Wicked Reads Review Team~
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads
This follows on from the end of addict - and if, like me it has been a while since you read it, I would recommend a quick refresher. If you've not read it yet, or the free 0.5 book Lost Desires, then you are in for a real treat!
This is a sexy, and yet quite confusing read, as these two characters try to develop their chemistry into possibly a relationship. It is an interesting journey ... which does not end by any means in this book - so Ms Orman better be busy writing the next book ...
I received a copy of this book for an honest review. I loved the 2nd book in the cravings series by Rachael Orman. John and Alix are back and their feelings are more intense in this book. I loved that they developed more of a relationship in this book.
Alix seems stronger in this book. More sure of herself until Mariah. John's feelings are getting stronger. I detest Mariah, but I'm sure she will cause much more problems for them.
This was an excellent addition to book one and I can't wait to read more of what will happen with John and Alix.
This is the second book in the Cravings series by Rachael Orman.
I did enjoy this book. But I am not sure I would want to keep going for another book. That old girlfriend of the Dom John is very creepy and I do not want to give myself nightmares about this unscrupulous person.
The book is interesting to follow and learn about what goes on in a relationship like this. Not my thing in real life, and I did have a hard time understanding how people do this sort of thing on an ongoing basis. Doesn’t it get old after awhile?
Anyway, good read. Enjoyed it but am not moving forward with the series.
Fiend is the followup to Addict where we were first introduced to John and Alix. I'd encourage you to read Addict first. Fiend picks up right where the first book ends.
Alix has just gotten over the shock of discovering that the mysterious dom she has been spending all of her time blindfolded with at Scene, the BDSM club, was the same man she had been lusting over at her job for months. Can they move their dom/sub relationship to a new level now that she knows the truth?
Well, I can tell you that this book is filled with plenty of very hot sexy BDSM scenes that will be sure to steam your panties off. The relationship between Alix and John really grows naturally. I love John's dominant, yet vulnerable, personality and the way he surrenders everything and give's into his urges with Alix. And Alix's uncertainty and low self-esteem, is just crying out for John to care for her and to make sure she knows how beautiful she really is.
But, as usual, things do not always go smoothly. There is a fly in the ointment in the form of Mariah, one of John's ex subs. She is determined to break them up so she can lure John back into her own life. My one complaint is that it was too easy for her to sow doubt into Alix's mind. The entire thing could have been quickly avoided of the two if them had just sat down and talked about what was going on. But lack of communication seems to be a common occurrence in erotic romance novels these days.
The book ends on a high note, but the Mariah problem is not yet fully resolved, and Alix and John are still keeping secrets from each other. I'm sure we will all know more in the next installment due to come out later this year. I am definitely looking forward to it.
Here I go again with another great novel by Rachael Orman. I just read the second book in her Cravings series,Fiend , and wanted to say a word or two about it.
As you know, we're following a story of Alix and her Master and now continuing where we left of: she finally found out who he really was and realised that she wants him in her life.
After the more than interesting beginning of their love adventure, I was very curious about what would happen next and would start to complicate their life. Here I must say, I was in fact, highly satisfied with the way things turned out. It was a bit shocking to see how each one of them (especially John) deals with their demons, mainly because it's quite a unique turn of events and not something we see often in this kind of novels.
On the other hand, I was expecting a bit more from their first date, but I'll say nothing more here not to spoil. We can always talk about it in the comment section after you read it :D
There are various reasons why you should read this novel: new characters to hate, some newly introduced toys, hot sex scenes...
And in the end, just when we think everything will be alright, some new enemies are exposed and Alix and John have to be prepared to fight for each other again- it's the only way their love can win.
Enough motives for you to grab this book and enjoy it!
After reading Addict, the first book in the Cravings series, I was eager to read Fiend. I'd fallen in love with John as early as when we first get to see him in Rachael Orman's novella, Lost Desires. My feelings for him grew in Addict, but Fiend just had me feeling all warm and fuzzy for him. From Addict, I knew Alix had issues, besides her being a sex addict, and in this book, we start to get more of an idea of what makes John tick, and he's obviously harbouring issues from his past too. The both have their ways of coping. He needs to have control to cope and Alix needs to give herself over to him, to submit to him, to centre her. As two separate people, they are broken, but together, they are a whole. I loved how their relationship develops in this book, and the sex is off the charts hot. I swear, if you have a weak heart, you might want to get a medical before reading this book. Perhaps have plenty of ice on standby too. When John has his ex girlfriend working for him, I cringed because I thought that would mean trouble, and it was. She's nothing but trouble and she goes out of her way to cause it. With John and Alix torn apart by lies and misunderstandings, my heart broke for them, but mainly for John because his way of coping with his pain, was not something I expected. I cried for him, for the pain he was in, and what he put himself through. I was such an emotional mess reading this book. I loved it and I will be impatiently waiting for the next book in the series.
Holy Crap! This was an awesome second story! I loved the first, but this just added to the story so well. I must admit that I usually am somewhat disappointed in second and third books, because it sometimes feels like the author just continues writing for the sake of continuing, but Orman truly added to the depth of the characters, plot line and created an entirely new book, while keeping it in conjunction with the first.
John's character is so much more than what he appears on the surface. I know that he loves Alix, but sometimes, I just want to hit him over the head and say "what were you thinking??!". The pain of his past that we see moved me, and I was glad that Alix was able to glimpse some of what John keeps hidden from everyone around him. It seemed only fair since he knows EVERYTHING about her.
Alix, I think is even stronger in this book. She has crap hurdled at her by that evil Mariah and I can't help but feel that despite some slips by Alix, she stayed really true and strong. When she does see John's pain, she is compassionate and willingly goes to John to see how he is doing - she genuinely cares for him.
The passion and love between John and Alix is almost tangible in this story. John takes such good care of Alix and in return, Alix reciprocates through love and trust. I can't wait for the next installment!
Fiend picks up exactly where Addict leaves off, with Alix finally discovering the identity of her Master, John; exactly who she secretly hoped it would be. It was easier, though, for Alix to explore her sexuality when there was a certain amount of anonymity. Alix is scared that John will see right through her carefully constructed walls and reject her. John though is determined to not let her run. He wants to claim her as his own: body, soul and mind.
We see John and Alix explore their BDSM relationship and Alix try new experiences. The road doesn't run smoothly as an ex of John's tries to drive a wedge between them to win him back. She plays on Alix's inexperience, insecurities and vulnerability to manipulate situations. For a man who is so cleaver and so in tune with Alix, I was surprised that he did not recognise this.
I loved seeing Alix come alive and find out more about what she wants sexually and who she is. John's strength is what she needs and he is patient with her. Both though still carry secrets that neither are willing to reveal yet but secrets have a way of revealing themselves whether you want them to or not.
This was superbly written, getting the balance right between hot and sensual, and exploring the emotions and feelings of Alix and John. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Fiend by Rachael Orman 5 stars I absolutely love the way Rachael has written this book! I loved Lost Desires and Addict and couldn't wait to dive into this!! This book has lots of bdsm scenes! I felt a bit hot but also a bit worried, especially in some parts! Alix and John together are IMO meant to be! He is such a wonderful man and Alix certainly is a lot better with him! They are both happier and calmer together! But with an ex working for John, what eventuates is nothing short of dramatic as well as suspenseful! Oh god I so really wanted to bitch slap someone!! Ugh! Alix and John seem to both have secrets and when Alix witnesses a particular scene, she wonders how things have come to this?!! What is John hiding?? Eventually when things come down to it, all that matters is that they both really care for each other and you certainly feel all the emotions as you read the book!! I really cannot wait for more!!! I need to know so much more about them and I'm excited to see where things will be headed! Add them to your TBR list or you are missing out!
Oh thank god I know there will be more to the Craving Series. I was not ready for Fiend to end.
Fiend is a continuation of the first book Addict. Alix is a sex addict and John is a control freak. There are a lot of mistakes made because of uncertainies that John has in his own self confidence. Yes someone can not be sure of himself even as a controller. He definitely has his own demons he is fighting. And, of Alix does too which causes a lot of conflict & misunderstandings between the 2 of them.
There is sort of an HEA but, you will have to read this book to know what I mean. Oh and there are some definitely HOT parts to this book! ;)
Authors WARNING: **For 18+ due to explicit language and sex scenes. Reader beware there is bondage, whips, consensual forced sex anal and even a MM scene**
I was advised that this was not a 'stand alone' book but I didn't read the first book prior to reading this book and had no problems following along with Alix and John's story.
I really felt for these two. Seems like they finally are 'clicking' and along comes an Ex of John's that is doing her best to split them up.
As the story goes along I think we see more and more of John's 'true' self and the great love he has for Alix.
The sex scenes are awesome.
I love Alix! What a strong person she is. Kudos to her to seeing beyond John's layers to the person he is beneath.
I'm now going back and reading the first book as I want to get the 'whole' story and I can't wait for the third book!
Alix has no found out who Master J is and can she ever forgive him for lying to her. Fiend goes through her emotions about John and dealing with his past which comes and bites her in the back with his new Secretary Mariah who is a previous Sub of his.
Mariah (excuse my language) is a hitch. She wants John back so whenever Alix is around she makes up stories and even goes as far as doing things that do drive Alix away.
During this time that Alix and John have broken up we start to see more of John's past. I cried so much when he became a broken man.I just wanted to jump in the book and cuddle him.
Overall I laughed, I cried and really enjoyed this book. Another great story from Rachael.
I received a copy from the author for an honest review.
Fiend is book 2 of the Cravings series and it did not disappoint. Sometimes a second book in a series can be lackluster but this was not the case. This book is filled with hot BDSM sex and is not for the faint of heart. There were a few scenes that even made me cringed. Rachael Orman defiantly knows how to push the envelope but has a way of keeping her readers engaged. I can't wait to read the third book.
I would highly recommend this book for fans of BDSM romance erotica genre.
OMG this book was amazing!! I love John and Alix. I so wanted FIEND to continue, but it came to an end. I was crying in parts, and really felt for the characters. The good news is that there will be another book in the series! Bad news is that We all have to wait for it. Something tells me that the next book will be full of more angst and of course Mariah is going to cause lots more trouble. If you love stories with sexy doms/Alphas, this is for you
OMG. John & Alix are back at it again. I loved this book. Like better then Addict & that's hard to do! This book made me laugh, and made me mad. It was freaking fantastic, I cannot wait for the next one! I'm so excited!
I am enjoying this series so far. I like having multiple books to be able to explore the story and the characters themselves. The problem is, this book doesn't really do that. Honestly, not much is going on in this book, and the whole thing can be summed up in a couple sentences. I was just a little underwhelmed by this one.
When I get to about 1/3 into the book, and they are still together having sex after their big upset about his identity, I was really saddened to feel like that was going to be most of the book. Indeed, this did end up being most of the book. Unfortunately, the whole book can be summarized to: they continue their relationship, but his ex decides she wants him back and tries to break them up. I did like getting into (ever-so-slightly) more of John's background when he completely fell apart, but there still isn't enough given about both characters. I suspect we will get it from the author when the two finally talk to each other about their pasts.
While this book was enjoyable, it felt like there wasn't enough depth there. I did feel the emotions when they broke up, but I want to understand these people a little more, and I shouldn't have to wait until a 3rd book to learn about them. I would still recommend this book to others, though.
While the last book I felt taught us that BDSM can be safer outlet for those darker, kinker desires that we keep bottled up rather letting them fester, this story teaches us take that no matter what in every relationship - communication is important. Lack of communication can kill a relationship as quickly as lies can.
Alix and John finally thought things were going once they got past that whole 'mask and Master' thing. Should be smooth sailing from here? Right?!? Well, maybe it would be if John didn't hire his ex submissive or Alix want still keeping up her walls and holding something back. It's just recipe for disaster, but as these two grow closer together they learn what it means to truly trust the other
When someone says a book is a "page turner" you think it a single book. I read all three books & could only stop for sleep & food. Stories are unique , exciting & full of beautiful male dominance. This tells story of 2 people who's past life of low self esteem lead them to find each other & show each other the beauty of BDSM. Too many times BDSM stories are about tawdry lives & situations. I found the complete 3 volume story to beautiful with no ugly language to mar the love story Don't miss this series .
Another superb masterpiece from Rachael Orman! I was pleasantly surprised to see that this sequel to 'Addict' was far better edited than the first in the series, with only several errors. I'm chagrined to find that she's still not capitalizing Master and Sir as is customary in the BDSM world. This needs corrected, but otherwise, 'Fiends was fantastic from cover to cover! Rachael's sensational storytelling, coupled with vivid imagery, compelling dialogue, and the right amount of suspense and drama, made this a sheer delight to read! I can't wait to start the third installment!
