Excellent review for the history of philosophy and for the Catholic Church's stance on certain topics in philosophy. Not a beginners guide though, author assumes that the reader has taken some philosophy, particularly either Aristotle or Aquinas.

This is a hard book to read through, it takes several cups of coffee, and isn’t meant for a typical couch read. However, unlike other introductory philosophy texts, this one doesn’t pretend nothing happened between 500 & 1500 AD, and two is precise in summary. Would recommend.
