Unlike other books written for Black women, “Change Your Mind, Change Your Destiny” does not tell Black women that they are supposed to be miserable. It does not talk down to Black women or tell Black women what they are doing wrong. “Change Your Mind, Change Your Destiny” is about Black women living the life they are destined to live - a successful and fulfilling life. Like the popular Bougie Black Girl blog, “Change Your Mind, Change Your Destiny” is direct and to the point. Using her life as an example, the author gives step-by-step ways on how to create goals and use concrete plans to achieve them. If any Black woman wants to change her mind and her destiny within a short period of time, this book is for her.
A quick, affirming read encouraging wise choices and true self-positivity in very practical ways. Self-help books are really not my thing and I read the first few chapters with a skeptical face but as I got into it I began to enjoy it and even shared it with a friend.
It's good for a quick pick me up and written pep talk moment when you're doing something new and challenging with your life and self. Also, even though it's marketed and written to a very specific demographic, I think any woman could potentially benefit from the generally uplifting nature of the book.
This is apparently compiled from blog posts on bougieblackgirl.com, which I've never read but will probably start to now.
A well written thought provoking book that focuses on changing the mindset as a way obtaining sucess in all facets of your life. Perfect for a woman just starting out and looking for advice.
