"In the Yes Book, seventy-two award-winning novelists, poets, scientists, spiritual teachers, and artists, among others explore what Yes means to them."
My goodness! The Yes Book was not only a rare set of reflections on optimism, motivation, and life lessons, it constantly pulls me back to reflect on this author's message it that author's experiences. I found my eyes filled with tears at experiences shared, and my brain marveling at word choices that read like music. My goodness. Yes filled me, and I keep going back.
This is an affirming book of anecdotes written by inspiring people who are embracing life in its entirety. It is about the acceptance of inevitable adversity along with gratitude and joy about our world and the richness in our ‘ordinary’ lives. I highly recommend this. It is a quick read and easily accessible to even the reluctant reader!
The Yes Book is a great book to keep handy for long after your first reading. This is the kind of book I keep and come back to again and again rather than giving it away when I'm done.
Pick it up when you want an uplift, a shift in perspective, a stimulating thought, a smile. The best part of the Yes Book is that it brings big focus to how important it is to say YES to everything you can in life, and that's a reminder we need often. That YES softens your mind and body and allows good things to emerge from any situation.
I do have an essay in the book, but I so enjoyed reading everyone else's perspectives on YES. It's delightful how many ways there are to express the value of YES, and the contributors do it in many styles and forms, some of which are sure to resonate with you.
The author, Jill Cooper, is an enlightened being who's sharing her gifts with the world through this book, and we're all glad she did.
