When Laird came into the picture, it was as a caretaker. Now he's not sure what he wants. As the story goes on, you find yourself on a teeter totter of emotions that comes from excellent writing. I give it 5 stars.

Well Laird and Lana's story was short and sweet. Lana had been badly abused and the sex club so she is done emotionally. But she has feelings she can't explain for Laird. They go back and forth with denying each other. Then the hook up. But nothing changes but a little time passes and they realize they are both worth each other's love. It was nice bringing in the Buchanan's Vince and Emma. It's an ok read.

Amazing book...I had to reread all of the Buchannan brothers stories again it made me miss them so much...Alexx does not disappoint. Wonderful stand alone book but be warned you will fall in lust with the handsome hot Buchannan men....A Christmas Promise

What a charmingly sexy story. I fell in love with a couple of bad boys and a curvy girl in KINGS OF ASPHALT, so I was happy to read more by this author.
Apparently, there is a bunch of novels about the Buchanan brothers, but this one is about Lana and Laird. A broken girl and a notorious womanizer, the odds are against them having anything but a fling. Not even that because Lana was brutalized at a night club so she's been nursing her emotional wounds in near reclusion. Laird rejects the mere idea of growing attached to any woman, but he won't stop thinking about the vulnerable girl who he cared for a few months back.
Now, their paths cross again resulting in sparks, feelings and dreaded but exhilarating changes for both.
I found it engaging to follow the process of Laird denying to himself that he might feel something real for Lana. He seems to be a shallow man which proves to be lethal to his closeness to Lana, but deep down there are issues that torment him. Lana needs to trust him, so when she open su p to him, she also wants to do the same for Laird.
I think they both go through the stages of healing of their own emotional scars. I liked that a lot besides the sexy times. Next to them, we get a glimpse of a few cousins to the Buchanans that might give birth to new hot stories in the future. There is also a pretty strong presence of the golden couple formed by Vince and Emma. That was so sweet as well!
The subject of abuse is dealt in this story as the root of Lana's change in attitude towards life. I liked the way the supposed jerk is the one who really gets to her and helps her not only with a kind approach, but also with an interesting theory. The complete reversal of Lair's attitude felt a little overwhelming, but in the end was as romantic as expected. Overall, it's a nice, sexy read that makes a good addition to the series.

I have not read any of the other books in the Buchanan series and yet I was able to read and enjoy this Christmas novella. Of course now that I know Lana and her sister suffered some terrible nonconsensual abuse at the private sex club owned by the Buchanan family and that Lana's sister Emma had married Vince Buchanan...I really want to go back and find out how all this began.
In this book Lana and Laird (the man entrusted to care for Lana after her ordeal) play a little game of catch and release...she is still not over her mistrust of men and he finds himself unable to stop thinking about her. Laird is a wealthy playboy who lives his life completely for pleasure...like the boy who doesn't want to grow up and stop playing...he spends his time doing whatever and "whomever" he wants with no remorse.
However, he doesn't have the one thing he craves and that is the damaged Lana, who is not sure she can ever let a man get close to her again.
This book was a sweet and very sexy story...Laird working his way into Lana's heart and she daring to come out of her shell until the realization that they are fundamentally too different.
Will they be able to overcome their issues and will Lana and Laird get their HEA like Emma and Vince? You'll have to read to find out how it all plays out and especially if you have read the previous books in the series, you will for sure want this holiday book.

I loved this book and the return of the Buchanan brothers! !! This is the story of Laird a very close friend (non biological brother)of the Buchanan's. He's a very rich playboy man-whore who doesn't work or take responsibility for his action. Lana a beautiful and strong woman who was brutally attacked and raped while at Club Malvagio (a secret private sex club owned by Laird and the Buchanan 's), she is now a recluse refusing to leave her apartment, she is spiritually and emotionally broken a year after the attack.Laird cared for her while she was recuperating, then ran away from his feelings of caring and guilt over the attack- no contact with her.She had feelings for him and didn't understand why he didn't keep in touch.A year later they are set up to go to a charity event together and the chemistry is rekindled! He offers to bring her spirit back emotionally and physically without commitment and strings. This is the journey of growing up for him and a rebirth of her sexuality and mental well-being for her. Alexx you did it again 5 stars and THANK YOU FOR THE RETURN OF THE BUCHANAN BROTHERS!!!!! MORE PLEASE! !!

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for a review and believe me it is a Fantastic Book!!I loved it. It is the story of Laird and Lana. Laird is a friend of the Buchanans and they own a secret club called Malvagio. Lana was abused at this club and Laird was given the job of caring for her afterwards. But Laird does not want the job, he is a one night stand kind of guy and is not into caring for a woman in any way but he does it for the Buchanans and for the secrecy of the club. A year later they see each other again and Laird knows why he has never forgotten her. Read the story It is fantastic!

A Christmas Promise by Alexx Andria was a very pleasant surprise. This was my first book by Alexx Andria and I thought it was well written. The characters are awesome! I totally loved the characters in this book. Laird and Lana's story is filled with drama and sizzle. A Christmas Promise is a fairly quick read, a good choice for those with limited time for reading. I enjoyed this book and would happily read more from Alexx Andria in the future. A Christmas Promise is book 9 in the Bought By The Billionaire Brothers Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I was so happy to see Lana and Laird's story finally. Laird was Lana's protector back when Vince was helping Emma recover from her attack at Malvagio. Laird took Lana home once he got the all clear when the attacker was picked up and he has not contacted her since then, This book is on a different level than the rest of the Buchanan books. This one is softer, sweeter. You see that Laird loves her and you see her suffering from her PTSD from her attacks. This is one of my favorite of all the books.

the characters were kind of flat to me. Lana was badly abused in the club owned by Laird and others. i like that it took a while for the heroine to heal from such tragedy. i didn't mind that, but all Laird could think about is sex and how Lana is beautiful. what about her character, personalities, the "inside"??? they spend some time together... shouldn't in depth feelings be there... i didn't feel the chemistry. instead i was more interested in Vince and Emma's story more!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I love anything Buchanan, so it was my extreme pleasure to revisit these characters once more. Laird comes off as the love em and leave em type. But in the end, he is a man with a heart of gold. And like I said it was nice to hear from Nolan, Vince and Dillon again. Steamy and sassy...loved it!

This was an interesting story about Laird and Lana. This is the first book that I have read by this author so I probably did miss some things from other books, but there was a lot of the backstory in this book so I wasn't lost. It was a fast moving book and Laird and Lana were good together.

Anytime there is a story with the Buchanan's you know it's going to be good. This was a story that definitely proved that. Loved it! Hope to read ore from the family!
