Campus Touch

Rate this book
Henrietta “Rita” Evans has always been known as the quiet, black woman on campus, some folks even nicknaming her “Mute” in jest. And she doesn’t expect much out of her Winter Break at Edson College, but an equally quiet environment. Until a member of the white campus elite starts running behind her dormitory late at night. Starts warning her to stay away from him and the woods. Starts making her feel more alive than she’s felt in a very long time.

Something is happening to Sal. Something he can’t control. Something threatening his last year of college and family’s werewolf heritage. And what’s worse, a quiet, mocha beauty can’t seem to mind her own business, tempting him at every turn. Who cares if she has the sweetest lips he’s ever seen? Who cares if her scent drives him mad? He has to keep her at a distance, for much more is at stake than the heat blazing between them.

And if he doesn’t put it out, they’ll both burn.

Book Two of the Edson College Series by Kasey Moone is Sal and Rita's story. This one is a bit different; Sal is struggling with turning into what this author calls 'untouched' a rouge destined to wander in wolf-form forever. He could not stay away from Rita even though she is not his "type," but he is drawn to her. As Sal struggles to stay away from Rita, the untouch continues to gain its hold, and Sal refuses to listen to his cousins as they tell him that Rita is the cure.

Rita goes to say goodbye to Sal, as he refuses to mate with her to cure himself, she is kidnapped. Will Sal become lucid enough to rescue Rita or will he stay in his 'untouched' state?

This was a good read and hope to enjoy reading the following two books in this series. This is my review and how I see it.

This book had a bit of a twist to it because Sal feel hard for Rita and she him, but Sal was turning into “ the untouched “. His family wasn’t sure about what they should do to help him. Can Rita help? You’ll have to read it in order to find out.

I liked the plot, the conflicts in the story, but I didn't care for the execution. I mildly disliked every character in this book. I disliked Rita because she let Sal run all over her, and continually tried to help somebody that didn't want to be helped. Sal was a jerk, and she kept coming back for more, like she was a glutton for punishment. I disliked Sal because he was always lashing out. He was pretty much always a jerk to Rita. I found no redeemable characteristics in him. I didn't like Sal's family either. They are a bunch of jerks, and crude, saying vulgar things in a disrespectful way.

I liked the premise of the story, and I have read the first book in this series, but I need to throw in the towel since I don't like the way the author writes and portrays the characters.

Just Plain Good

Sometimes you need to take a detour in your reading, and YA Romance is an excellent road to travel. This is an excellent follow-up to a really good series. This is an old new subject, that's being handled so well. There is so much going for this story,it is not only sexy but it is also laugh out loud sexy as well. Hat off to the writer.

Sal and Rita

Casey writes another winner. This is the second book in the Edson College Series. This story was about Sal and Rita and takes place the three weeks the school is closed during winter break. I recommend you read this to find out what obstacles they had to face.
