Rate this book
Marie Turner thought signing up for the New Horizon Reproductive Research Facility's xenobiological breeding program was just a desperate solution to her crushing debt and her mother's spiraling medical bills. Towering, alien, and terrifyingly beautiful, XN-7 is unlike anything Marie has ever encountered. As the bond between them deepens, Marie begins to question the sterile, transactional nature of her agreement, her humanity, and the impossible truth that she might mean more to this creature than science ever intended.

XN-7—Khet—has spent years as a controlled specimen, but Marie awakens something in him the facility never the need to protect, to cherish, and to claim what is his. With every session, their connection grows stronger, and Khet’s possessive devotion pushes the boundaries of what Marie thought was real.

But in a world where their bond is forbidden, and the facility sees them as nothing more than data points, can they fight for the impossible? Can Marie risk everything for a creature who sees her like no one else ever has? And will Khet find a way to keep her as his, despite the barriers between their worlds?

He calls her his egg keeper, his mate, his everything—but will she dare to call him hers?

Hold up. Gimme one sec. My mind is still processing this story.🫨 I wasn't expecting to read a spicy {{how you doing?😉🫦}} romance with a Xenomorph but here I am and I just did!!hehe🤯 My bingo reading card has a new stamp on it 👾, reaching another world, the New Horizon, and I'm excited about it. I didn't know what to expect when I started reading, but Ms Bliss came up with something different and put her unique spin on it. I was pulled into the story and kept reading till I finished it. I had to know what was going to happen.🙊

We have 2 unlikely individuals, a woman and another life form, alien/monster, or other, meeting under unconventional means in an intermingle institute, if you will.☺️ Marie has her reasons. Sometimes situations in life happen. As for Khet, you know how scientists and big companies can get with their ideas. Despite the circumstances, something unexpected occurs, a connectedness that surpassed all the stars known and unknown in the galaxy.🌌🌟🌌🌟🌌🌟🌌🌟🌌🌟🌌 Does it make sense? To the scientists, no. But why does it have to? It matters for them and that's more than enough. Subject 359 and XN-7, Marie and Khet, are about to flip the lid at this reproductive facility.🔬🧫🏣 Oooh wee hunny!! Telepathy and a different kind of hotness.😝🔥🔥 I don't want to spoil anything more. Readers should go in and be surprised with their reading experience.

I enjoyed it. It is a little longer. Yay! It's different but written with heartfelt intentions. I hope that makes sense. I loved these characters. Marie and Khet belong. Slight spoiler: Dr Kane's a sarcastic punk.😂 I'm wondering was that name chosen as a nod to the character Kane from the Alien movie? If it is, more to appreciate.🛸 I think Dr Kane had a little crush.ha!🤫 I recommend. If you like monster romances get this book. The book cover is cool. Happy reading.*•>§<•*🖤🩶🖤🩶

👩‍🏫💋👾Thank you to Ms Bliss and Booksprout. The opinions shared here are my own.👾💋👩‍🏫

I dove into this with pure curiosity, and ended up completely consumed — yep, that’s me, not just the characters.

We jump right in with little background, but you get just enough info to piece things together. It’s a monster breeding facility romance, and yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.

Marie Turner signs up for the New Horizon Reproductive Research Facility’s xenobiological breeding program as a desperate move to handle crushing debt and medical bills. Then she’s paired with XN-7 — Khet — an apex predator engineered for breeding.

Towering, alien, and terrifyingly beautiful, Khet is unlike anything Marie’s ever known. But beneath his primal strength lies a mind that reaches for hers, defying the cold clinical protocols. Their bond grows deeper, and Marie starts questioning the sterile transactional nature of her agreement.

Khet has spent years as a controlled specimen, but Marie awakens something in him the facility never intended — protection, devotion, and a fierce claim on what’s his. Their connection pushes boundaries in a world that wants to treat them like data points.

Khet calls Marie his egg keeper, his mate, his everything — but will Marie dare to call him hers?

The emotions between these two are surprisingly well-crafted, tender even in this wild setup. Khet and Marie are, honestly, the cutest xenomorph-human couple you didn’t know you needed. The spice? Soooo good.

Is it a little weird? Totally. But so is most monster romance, and that’s kind of the point.

If you’re into emotionally charged, primal alien devotion with forbidden love and danger, this book will have your heart racing and your mind obsessed. I definitely wouldn’t complain if there was more to their story.

Definitely read the content warnings first — this one won’t be for everyone. But if it is for you? Welcome to the hive, babe!

ARC REVIEW 📚

I'm a fan of the Alien franchise, so I was interested to read about a Xenomorph romance. The start of the book pulled me in instantly; however, I felt that it was slightly short for my liking, as I see great potential for expansion. I particularly enjoyed the worldbuilding, especially the clinical setting. It would be interesting to learn more about how this program started, the other participants that were involved, and the aftermath of the extended program. Nevertheless, this was a fresh and unique take on the concept of Xenomorphs, adding a layer of complexity to the character.

Looking at the characters, Marie was resilient and determined. Her strength to shoulder those burdens and ability to keep going are what make her admirable. Khet, on the other hand, became one of my favorite characters. He was exceptionally sweet, protective, and understanding. The way he actively reached out for Marie, eased her doubts, and offered her mental strength was incredibly touching. I found their relationship dynamic to be quite different from what I've seen and read in other alien romance books - it goes to show that connection can go beyond words. Finally, the spicy scenes were steamy yet passionate.

I WOULD RECOMMEND IF 📒

If you're looking for a short and spicy alien romance novel with featured themes such as "forbidden romance," "science lab/experiment," "subject FMC and MMC," "size difference," "telepathy," "egg br€€ding," and "HFN," then this is the book for you.

Some bonds break rules, others rewrite them.

He was never supposed to choose her. She was never supposed to want him. Yet some bonds can’t be engineered, only discovered.

Marie enters the New Horizon Reproductive Research Facility desperate for money to save her mother’s life. The program sounds simple on paper: five breeding sessions with a xenomorph named XN‑7 in exchange for a payout that could solve everything. But from the moment she meets Khet, as he’s known to himself, nothing about this feels like the clinical agreement she signed. His patience, intelligence, and fierce attention make it impossible to see him as just another part of the contract.

Their connection deepens with each session, shifting from a physical arrangement to a telepathic bond that pushes past the boundaries of the facility. Marie evolves from a desperate participant driven by financial need into someone who confronts her fears and embraces vulnerability.

Khet grows from an isolated specimen into a being who understands choice, trust, and emotional connection. What begins as a program built on survival becomes a genuine bond grounded in mutual recognition and acceptance, with both choosing each other despite the constraints of the program and the uncertainty of the future.

A steamy alien-human, fated mates vibes, dark, paranormal, breeding romance that explores love across differences, trust, choice, control, survival, sacrifice, autonomy, connection, and hope in impossible places.

"Something happened between us in this cold, clinical room, something the facility never planned for, something that feels dangerously right."

I am OBSESSED omg. I went in expecting a silly, spicy, make me question myself a little bit kinda story. What I got was a gripping, heartwarming, tear jerking, soul soothing, need more immediately kinda story and I'm not even a little upset about it.

The story starts out with Marie meeting XN-7 (Khet) for their assigned breeding session. Marie is in debt and the New Horizon Reproductive Research Facility is paying top dollar to women willing to be participants in their xenomorph breeding research. Right from the start we're met with fast paced spice that is suddenly derailed when Khet telepathically connects to Marie, the first time the facility's best breeder has ever done that. Confused and intrigued Marie responds to his nudge and what ensues after is 11 chapters of oh my god yes! The validation I felt as an overthinker and a person that is constantly anticipating the worst is pretty unmatched in anything else I've read. May we all find a Khet that really calm our racing minds with the reassurance that they are here to protect, to cherish, to claim. 😏

Oh and shout out to Nurse Gray. That reassuring nudge there at the end, what a girl's girl. 🙏.

So happy I got to ARC this, absolutely read this when it releases!

This story was so surprising to me, I wasn't able to predict what was going to happen, but it was very cool and interesting . It contains depths I didn't anticipate and it conveys important messages and lessons. I can't wait to see where the story goes as this series continues!

Marie is in crippling debt and has a mother that needs help getting the medical care she needs, so she decides to sign up with a monster reproduction research facility to try to pay it all off. What she doesn't anticipate is the deep bond that develops between her and a xenomorph.

(I received this as a arc)

So I went into this thinking it would just be a fun, smutty alien romance, but it turned out to be a beautiful, emotional story of two beings finding a much deeper connection than either expected.

The New Horizon facility offers women payment to be temporary egg hosts for xenomorph eggs. After breeding, the eggs need to incubate for 12 hours within the women's body before removal. Unlike most participants, Marie, somehow forms a bond with her xenomorph partner, XN-7, something unheard of in this facility.

This definitely complicates things for the facility scientists, and Marie and XN-7 need to navigate the situation carefully if they want to keep their bond strong.

I really want to see where their story goes next.

Once again, Lola Bliss has left me crying and desperately in love with another book I didn’t know I needed. I’m not okay, like, AT ALL. Bred by the Xenomorph was absolutely incredible. I didn’t know what to expect with this Alien x Monster Romance but it was everything I could have ever wanted and more. This alien breeding novella is so much more than just spice. Marie and XN-7 (or Khet), have a bond that the scientists at New Horizon could never have prepared for. Their relationship surpasses language barriers, distance, forced expectations, biology and even their own fears. Lola also does an excellent job on making sure consent is always important and the number one priority even in a forced proximity type of situation. I loved seeing our main characters journey and cannot wait to meet more monsters as this series continues!

Whenever I see/hear the word Xenomorph, I first think of the metallic, acid drooling, mouth-within-a-mouth, hunted by Sigourney Weaver Aliens. And guess what? That's what you get in this book. And let me tell you, it was GOOOOOD. I'm always more interested in the anatomy synchronicity/compatibility in these monster romances (for science, of course) and discovering all that makes XN-7 who/what he/it is was entertaining enough. But this book and more humanity to it. It brought of very human emotions and in a couple hour span of reading this book, I felt so much. This is the first in the New Horizon Monsters series and I can't wait for the next book. Also, I'll be looking out for more of Lola Bliss's books in the future.

'I have existed in isolation since my capture, surrounded by beings who see me as a specimen, an asset, a mere research subject. Then Marie appeared, her mind opening to mine, her consciousness brushing against my own with recognition rather than fear. For the first time, I was seen. Known. Accepted.'

I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Marie and Khet. I was fascinated by their bonding and the relationship building between them in such an unusual circumstance and environment. There's an underlying level of suspense because they are being observed, analyzed, recorded, controlled. Yet they can communicate telepathically, so there's that divide between what they say out loud and what they say privately. Unexpectedly a cliffhanger ending. Can't wait until the next book. 5 stars

★ “Real, he confirms. Rare. Precious. Ours. Together.” ★

Marie’s goals when she filled out the form to participate in the New Horizon Reproductive Research Facility's xenobiological breeding program was purely financial, until she discovers that XN-7 is more than just a means to an end, this alien begins to matter to her. But is she brave enough to demand what she wants, from this male, from the ever-present scientists who scrutinize their every interaction together? Enjoyed reading their journey of organic bonding and exploring the possibilities of what mating with an alien could mean through dual POVs. Looking forward to reading more of this author’s stories!

I went into this expecting a fun, silly romp.

What I got was a sweet story about a woman and a Xenomorph. The tenderness and care that Khet gives Marie is swoon-worthy, the connection between then rapid but earnest.

The intimacy outside the sexual moments was wonderful, and as someone who has done long distance relationships, it had a nice meaning. Fighting for what you want, even within certain confines, isn't easy.

3.5 stars. This short story is dual POV, well written, and a steamy, male xenomorph/female human (Marie), laboratory setting, paid female breeder, short romantic erotica. I empathised with Marie’s need for money and her shock at enjoying her interactions with him. I empathised with his history. I enjoyed their interactions and the way both felt joy in being connected with another being. I struggled with the fact that, though the story ends in a place of contentment, there’s no visible HEA.

Totally outside my usual genre, but I ended up really enjoying this.

Went in expecting straight-up monster smut, but it surprised me in the best way; it’s way more tender and intimate than I thought it would be.

I loved how much focus there was on the mental connection between the characters. It wasn’t just about the physical stuff — it was about trust, intention, and really seeing each other.

Super refreshing.

Honestly, it had way more heart than I expected.

I really enjoyed this story. Short and sweet, although I do hope one day there will be a continuation. The ending wrapped up well and the romance was surprisingly good for how short the story is. I also really enjoyed the authors personal take on the Xenomorph and it was great to read one of my secret fantasies come to life :) I couldnt put the story down. Thank you for the opportunity to read this! Ive had some terrible internet problems for the last few weeks and where I am located, I am unable to access the internet without my wifi router working. Sorry for the delay. <3

Unexpected Connection
Marie has joined the New Horizons Breeding Program for the compensation - she needs to pay off her mother’s medical bills. XN-7 has no choice in the matter - he’s been captured and held as a test subject. The connection that sparks between them is beautiful, but the real world intrudes. I loved both the tender connection and the spicy encounters between Marie and XN-7 (Khet) - their telepathy brought a real vulnerability to the characters. Hopefully their will be more to come - their romance was wonderful, and the world at New Horizons shows real promise.

This was a strong start to the New Horizon Monsters series, it had that element that I was expecting and enjoyed from a monster romance novel. The characters worked overall in the storyline and universe, and I cared about what was happening to them. Lola Bliss has a great knack for this type of book and am excited for more.

So Alien(the alien movies) are not exactly my favorite, yet I was drawn to this book when I saw the sign up for arcs. And it was wonderful. I read it at 4am when I couldn't sleep and I immediately messaged the author begging for more lol. The whole telepathic connection and sharing of emotions was lovely. I appreciated how caring the xenomorph was for his person. The egg depositing was a newer one for me on the monster smut scale and I didn't hate it like I thought I would. And I loved that the alien was calling the FMC his egg bearer like it was an adorable pet name.

Bred by the Xenomorph is book one of the New Horizon Monsters Series.

Marie joins an alien breeding program to pay off some of her debts. While there she is paired with XN-7 (Khet). The bond that develops between them is research worthy, but these two feel it differently than scientific discovery. They find a deep connection with each other and embrace their bond.

The story does leave you in a bit of a HFN ending. I do believe we will get more to their story in another book.

For a short story, this still maintained a slow burn. While there is the hint of spice of sexual activity; there was more emphasis on a mental and emotionally spicy connection. Human emotions and desires are so messy, yet in this story, they come across as universal. A fun read that kept me readuntilt was done. Looking forward to the rest of their journey.

Another by this author and just as good a read as the others I have enjoyed. Also a little longer than previous books. Marie works in a research centre that studies breeding with alien species. In essence she is the vessel. She meets Khet, a huge alien and one who comes to see her a more than that vessel. Loved their story and glad it had more depth, thus a longer read. :D

When Marie sets up this gig she thought it would be different but not to the extent it turns into. She not only did the lay back and think happy things but she enjoys it for real.
XN-7 is considered a test subject by the humans but he is in fact a thinking feeling male names Khet. The bond he forms with Marie is extremely rare but it is deep and more than human words can comprehend.

I honestly wasn't sure if I would enjoy this. And I found myself pulled in from the very first chapter. I experienced a roller coaster of emotions. Especially when Khet thought that Marie was completely rejecting him that had me crying. I would like to be able to read the full story so I can get the happily ever after.

I enjoyed this story. Khet was sweet and I like his connection with Marie, not to mention their spicy scenes. The story was short so we did not get much of Khet's backstory and details on the facility. There was also a time jump in the beginning that was a bit confusing. I hope the story will continue with more answers.
