The Millionaire Menace
After four years, Marley King is back home in Polk County for her father's funeral, which she doesn't want to attend for various reasons. Her father was a legend in the city, so the church was packed beyond capacity, and everyone and their mama were in attendance. The first people she saw when she entered the church were her father's old enemies, Bishop Mafia, standing in the corner, all flashy in jewelry and all black clothing. Bishop Mafia consists of a crew led by a father and his three sons, Malice, Pope, and Don, who are all messed up in the head in different ways.
The Bishop boys were trained to be assassins from an early age and never taught how to love someone properly. Bishop told his sons never to have kids with random women because that could mess up their powerful bloodline. The boys tried to listen to Bishop's every order because they knew that if they didn't, they could one day feel his wrath.
When Bishop, the head of the Mafia, learns of Marley's return to Polk, he has an idea to take over the city he was once shunned from by creating a new joint heir. His plot directly involves Marley, the only seed of the once most powerful man in the town, Juke, who is now declared deceased.
The Mafia is convinced that they will take over Polk County with Bishop's plan to combine Bishop and King blood, but that is until Pope lays eyes on Marley, who is laid-back and one of the most beautiful women he has ever seen.
Will Marley be the victim of kidnapping and forced into surrogacy by the Mafia in the street war? Or will Pope's eye for her save her from the plans Bishop has to take over?

I had to DNF at 7%. Ummm. I want (for some) Black authors to fully stop using anti-Black rhetoric in books because as a collective we should have moved past all of that. The classic "the FMC and her friend crew are the bestest vs all the
other girls because those hoes be jealous" is a staple in a lot of romances. But when it comes down to it this is why I DNFd....
"Some girls were picking on me by pulling my hair. They were jealous bc mine was long and theirs looked like Brillo pads."
Describing our hair as Brillo pads....is a choice. Making the hating girls have Brillo pad hair...is a choice.
The characterization of the FMC is already working my nerve a little bit. So by the time this line popped out I knew I wasn't moving forward.

Crazy
I don't know how to feel about this read. To me, it started and ended slowly. Bishop in this read was stupid if you ask me. How can someone think of abducting someone just so they can have their offspring. Sadly, he wants power that much to do something like that. I don't trust Zara, Tyler is slow streetwise, and I wish Marley had listened to her first mind and stayed home because I don't think she would've been in this predicament at this moment. I also think Zara is going to get pregnant and don't know who the father is between father and son.

This was an okay read. Bishop is really annoying and just plain stupid if you ask me.
Tyler is definitely dumb as hell. I don't understand people who want to intentionally struggle. Like are you okay? LOL I do believe that Pope and Marley were feeling each other though, so I hope in the next book, everything works out. Malice is weak and Don just seems off his rocker.

Are you serious? Black Lavish you be killing me smooth with these cliffhangers.
I love your books and this one gets no less love. Bishop is crazy as hell, Malice FAFO when Tyler did a number on him, Don is crazy like Bishop, but something is going to shake when he finds out Zara has been banging his dad, and last Pope who is really feeling Marley.
I see this as the sons taking out the dad because they each have found their one, and are no longer rocking and rolling with everything Bishop says and does.

This story starting off wild lol. Bishop is delulu! Bishop is going to get his! Pope and Malice gonna have to save these girls and put their father in his place. He’s a monster. The way he raised the boys, treats Trish and tried to handle his first grandchild smh. I do think Juke is alive. Pope messed up that first job. I can’t wait for book 2 so Marley can find her dad in that big house. I need to see what happens to Zara. She’s a trip!

Omg this series is gonna be lit. I pray somebody takes Bishop out he is doing way too much. Pope and his brothers need to man up cause they f**k n**a sperm donor is off his rockers. My girls are gonna get outta this mess. U did good on yet another book, and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read

anxiously waiting part 2
So much going on in this book. Ain’t nothing like mafia ties. It’s not an arranged marriage this time but an arranged surrogate to combine families. Bishop is so evil and controlling. I don’t see why his sons stand up to him. I’m just pressed to read book 2.

First book by this author and I enjoyed it. I can’t wait till part 2. This whole family is a mess and the daddy is the leader of the pack. This daddy is horrible and I hope something is done about him. Because this last chapter had me highly upset. Marley girl when you and Tyler are free RUN AND DON’T LOOK BACK!!!!!

I'm pissed for Marley and hope she can see her way out of this ultimatum. Of course I'm still team Pope. He's a rebel without a cause and I believe he won't back down from the reign of his father

Bishop Mafia is ruthless!
Bishop is getting on my nerves. You can't force somebody into your wicked family for your own selfish reasons. I think Malice, Don, & Pope are tired of their pops and will eventually stand up to him. On The Fence
I'm not sure yet how I feel about this sturyline. I get wanting to be King of the streets but Bishops plan for a bloodline seems ridiculous. I was entertained with how the girl interacted with the sons. I found it funny. I will read on to see if her father is still alive or not. I'm curious about that. Its just getting started so we'll see.
