Pulp action hero DOC UNKNOWN returns to battle new and even more dangerous enemies who are wrecking havoc in Gate City. This follow up to the HIT KICKSTARTER project features art by PHIL SLOAN (Deadhorse), JIM MCMUNN (Henchmen, Inc., FUBAR), JOHN BROGLIA (Atomic Robo: Real Science Adventures, Denali) and series regular RYAN CODY (Doc Unknown, Masks and Mobsters, The Pride).
A great comic featuring a classic-styled pulp hero, facing his own unique villains. Bridging the gap between the Black Bat and Hellboy is Doc Unknown, facing supernatural mysteries in Gate City during the 1940s.
Doc Unknown continues to protect Gate City in this second volume of short stories. The character is right up my alley and I want to like him more than I do. Something just doesn't click all the way for me. Still a fun read.
Another decent installment, but a little odd. It seems early in establishing the Doc Unknown "canon" to introduce seemingly unrelated side stories. But they were fine stories, and as usual the art and writing are superb.
