Rilen could smell her; could virtually taste her on the back of his tongue.
He almost didn't want to turn around and look. What if he was wrong? He'd waited two hundred years for this. Desperately searching, about to give up...believing he was just not destined to ever find her.
And yet here, stuck outside on this dark, rainy night, her scent wafted over him like a fading song in a dream. How could it be that here of all places and tonight of all nights, he may finally have reached the end of his achingly long search?
While reading this awful book I kept repeating to myself 'it can't get any worse from here'. And then it did. Over and over. This may be the worst book I've read in months. Every other sentence was a contradiction to the one before it. The plot was laughable. The characters came off as childish, spoiled, and ignorant. Did I mention the bad plot? Because it was... bad. That ending? Wow. Wrapped up so fast I felt whiplash. And it wasn't even a good ending. Would I recommend this to others? No... seriously go read ANYTHING else. I'd give negative stars if I could.
insta-love to an extreme. lacks any character depth
This was a short shifter read with quite a bit of sex and little else. A horrible case of insta-love. Upon completion I feel as if I know nothing really about the hero or heroine. Overall this just made for a vague shifter read. Not a series I will continue.
