Book 2

Cash just left his MC group (which honestly should’ve been a whole side story) and makes his way to ocean town. Loved a fisherman’s town and the struggles that come with it and settled with another side story that was devastating. Still loved!

Just didn't hold my interest. Deleting from my Kindle and wanted to remember so I wouldn't be tempted to try it again.

DNF at about 30%.

Why do I want to give this 4 stars?!

Well, I liked the first one enough to go 3 stars, but I had hang-ups.

Luckily, some of the elements which won me over in the first book of this series were also present in this installment.

The first book had that fish-out-of-water, city girl inherits land in Montana and meets an alpha of the country. Well, in this story, it is the bad-boy biker (from concrete, steel and leather) who meets a coastal town-girl, and she shows him "deep recesses in the cliffs", the brilliance of wind and water, and the power of the ones who stay.

I was so enamored by both the hero, Cash Tremaine, and the heroine, Esme Drake. I liked Cash for his latent humility, his bravery and his complete "no fighting it" fall for Esme. I like Esme for her easy-to-love demeanor, her fight and her unapologetic, sometimes automatic, directness.

Both of these main characters were integral parts in a romance and second chance story that was pulled off by basic human attributes: love, loyalty and community.

Speaking of community, there is a rather sad but loving old man who should get a head nod from readers as a secondary character who almost steals the show. His relationship with the hero is a symbol of second chance(again), redemption and closure.

This one was different than the first in this series because it dealt with a more sleepy and somber setting that stuck to you like wet sand after a storm.

Sure, you still get your alpha-saves-the-day part and your bouts of hotness when the lovers find their appetites, but I love it when you also get a story, or at least a mood that resonates a little-- even after you've finished reading and while you're writing a review for it:)

Books in this series can definitely be read as stand-alone. However, I get the sense that reading the Rain Shadow series first might enhance the background of both Gage(bk 1) and Cash (bk 2). This series is a spin off, apparently, and now I'm going to read the five books that surrounds Gage's brother Luke, who gets entangled with Bedlam MC.

Read this one for a good romance, though.

Happy Reading

ARC for an honest review!!!! Spoiler alert.

You know, metting Cash in Angel and Luke's books was awesome. I wished for his book just so I could see what gets him going. I wanted to meet the bad boy I was intrigued with for the whole time I read the other books.

Now that I finally met him I have to say he is amazing. A great, sweet guy that has a tough exterior and a protectiveness about the people he cares about.

Oh, the way he cares about Esme is so damn hot and makes me wish for a round in the lighthouse with a hot guy. But since there is no lighthouse around me and I don't really live anywhere near the ocean I'll have to satisfy myself with reading about the hot scenes here.

This book is so much more sweeter than the others from Tess. Don't know why but the way she wrote this made me think about cute romance and sweet love even though there is danger and action in it.

Now, before I got myself too far and tell you all about the sweet things Cash says to Esme read the book when it comes out soon!!!!!

Cash doesn't want to let it on but the boy is a total sweetheart, "I'm content for now just touching you. And watching your beautiful face through it all made the whole damn thing really worthwhile." Esme that girl has some good ideas and she likes to boss her man around from time to time, "you do realize that if I strip, you must follow my lead. And I say we move fast so we can wrap up tightly in the blanket and work on some friction. I understand it's the best way to build a fire." I liked this book it was an adventure, and I really enjoyed seeing esme and Cash's relationship blossom.

Cash by Tess Oliver is another book in the Barringer Brothers Series, and like the rest of them this one is really good, and it just adds to the list of books in this series that are all 5 star reads! This book can be read as a stand alone, but if you are like me, you will start with Rain Shadow book 1, and keep reading up to this latest book by Tess, as it adds a lot to this book as far as background on the main character Cash Tremayne.

Cash Tremaine has had a very hard life starting from the time he was a child, and this has turned him into a hard and disillusioned man. He was part of the Bedlam outlaw motorcycle group, from the time he was a teen when the head of the motorcycle club Draygon Sharpe found him living on the streets. One year when he was a lot younger, he went on a road trip with the club down to the ocean and he has never forgotten that time and how beautiful it was to him. After turning state evidence in against the motorcycle club years later and dealing with the fall out of the club members(some, not all) trying to get rid of him, he decides it is time to take to the road, and with a referral from an old friend takes him to the small coast town of Tucker's Village and he finds it to his liking right away. He decides to stay and help Bentley the man he goes to see and realizes that the man has severe arthritis and can't fix things for himself anymore. Bentley lost his wife a while back, but his grief that he wears on his face is over the mysterious death of his son. As a matter of fact his son's room is still the same way it was the day his son left to go fishing and never came back. So Cash decides to stay awhile here and help Ben out, as he likes him right from the beginning.

On the way into town, Cash had stopped at a gas station where he meets Esme Drake, a beautiful young woman who gets caught stealing a bottle of water, as her jeep had broken down, and she had no way of contacting anyone so she pretends to be Cash's girl and he pays for her water, and he and Esme who he has nicknamed "sugar peanut" ride into town and he drops her home. Cash instinctively knows that she has had a hard life also and Ben verifies how hard she has had it but always works to achieve what she wants, and the whole town loves her! Esme has 3 jobs she juggles, including her dog walking job, where Cash sees her the second time, being hauled down the street by 5 dogs of all shapes, sizes, and varieties!

As time goes by, they form a friendship, which quickly turns into so much more, and things seem to be going okay, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes and Cash can't help but feel he brought trouble with him. like he thinks he always does. Esme's 2 brothers and dad get into something that causes a lot of trouble for themselves and Esme, and Cash is worried.

You will have to read this book to find out what that trouble is and how it is resolved! This book had a great plot to it and I loved the characters that are introduced in this book, as well as other characters making brief appearances through phone conversations, from the past books in this series The characters are all well developed and as you read, you find yourself forming an attachment to them, and hoping for the best outcome! The author has a unique writing style totally her own and produces a book that is beautifully written from start to finish. I found myself praying that Cash finally has found a good place to be in his life finally after all the years he was barely surviving from day to day with no hope or dreams. By reading the first books you will see Cash in these books which really adds to the makeup of his character, and how when faced with a dilemma what he chose to do about it.

Will Cash finally accept that he has finally found a place to stay for good with all the townspeople who love him, for all the things he helped them with and taking care of their town? Will the love he has found for Esme be enough? Can Cash hang up that feeling he does-not belonging anywhere because he thinks he brings nothing but trouble everywhere he goes?

I gave this book 5***** stars and I really suggest you read all the books in this series by Tess Oliver, I know you will be so glad you did! The series is in this order:

Rain Shadow book 1
Rain Shadow Book 2
Rain Shadow Book 3
Rain Shadow Book 4
Rain Shadow Book 5
Gage
Cash

Thanks you for writing another great series Tess Oliver!

Great read if...you've enjoyed the other books in the series, MC books, a little suspense, romance, alpha males, small towns, and a HEA!

Side Note: Tess is a wonderful writer, so this should not come as a surprise that this book fit in right along with her others. While Cash isn't necc. my favorite of the series, it still fits in line with the danger, romance, and exciting moments known to get your heart racing! If you enjoy MC books go ahead and make sure you grab all the books in this series!

In this book we learn about cash and a side of him that I didn't see in the previous books... We all new Cash was a bad ass but in this book we see a softer sweeter side and I love it!!! I loved Esme and found her personality perfect for Cash... Her home life was not ideal and she worked her butt off.... I loved all the hot and heavy stuff between Esme and Cash and thought the ending was perfect!!! Looking forward to reading the next book!!! Must read series!

O.K. This was a mellow read not to much drama. It felt like something was missing but I still loved the story of Cash and Esme.

You know what they say you will fall in love when you least expect it and that was just that. Cash was on a mission to search for a place to fit in, to belong to find a new family after his was no more, and like all the love stories goes he found the one person who changed his life....

Loved this one! Suggest you read the Rain Shadow box set first, then this one. There's nothing about the Gage book in this one (although it's an ok read), so doing it this way just seems like you're reading the same story.

Cash... On hand
Wow! Super impressive story; not even sure what to say first?!
I loved the first book in the series and this second story was even better than the first.
As I began to drift into the story I felt like I really was riding into Tucker's Village with Cash on the back of his bike.
I thoroughly enjoy stories where I feel as if I am actually inside the setting and the whole story. Between the 2 nights it has taken me to finish this story, I have been huddled in my fleece robe because I actually felt cold reading about the frigid temperatures rolling off the water in the seaside town/cove. That is probably the highest compliment I could pay an author.
Cash was an impressive character who just continues to grow throughout the story and he has met his match with Esme. She was tough and independent but still girly through and through.
So refreshing.

This was an awesome book.
Hot MC alpha male with an attitude. Horrible childhood that has resulted in a chip on his shoulder. All this leads up to his attitude.
Esme is the only woman for Cash. Tough as sh*t female that takes no sh*t off anyone.
I also just found out that these characters , and I do mean characters, have been in other books. My bad!!! I have to go and finish these books then read the others.
A quick, steamy read that was very enjoyable... but I think Gage us still my favorite to date.

Cash is a former biker now on a journey. He doesn't know what he is looking for but a relationship isn't definitely not something he needs. Then Esme runs into Cash and his world is turned upside down. Can Esme make Cash feel for her and stay or is Cash just in for a little fun and then ready to move on.

I know I've said before that Tess Oliver is one of my top five authors of all time and that's including a Bronte who had a penchant for writing about older men and locking mad wives in the attic and including America's sweetheart author Nora Roberts but it also means I can be really pernickety when I'm reviewing Tess's work and as I've said previously the pressure is always on to be bigger and better, so although Tess is my hero it in no way means she's guaranteed that illusive five star rating simply because I think she's the bees knees and the cats pyjama's so in laying that all out Cash is yet another five star rating from me...

The problem I had with Cash in the past was he was that cheeky, smirking semi-likable character in my peripheral and I wasn't sure if I was going to like him having his own story, as witnessed previously he played life fast and loose even after making a break from the destructive chaos of the Bedlam MC, Cash seemed to be a bit of a rouge and a wild card for me but thankfully Tess took that same shallow, philandering roving-gypsy-on-the-back-of-a-motorcycle-and fleshed him out, gave him purpose and a job and a home which in turn added some compassion, humour and likability to his character.

From the opening paragraphs Cash had me captivated, the witty repartee and bantering of the initial meeting between himself and our female protagonist Esme was perfect in comedic timing and in staging that initial flare of interest that fans the story and gives it momentum.
What I admire most about Tess's books are the female leads, they don't simper and whine and even when life is a little more difficult than they would like they pull on their big girl pants and go marching on. Tess portrays them as strong-willed and determined and they know what they want and how to go about getting it which is why I admired Esme's strength and determination in trying to attain that lighthouse of hers and how hard she worked in reaching her goal even with seemingly insurmountable obstacles clouding her way (which ironically enough has always been a dream of mine- to live in a lighthouse too)

I loved the pairing of Cash and Esme, they played off each other brilliantly and incorporating Esme's madcap, completely loony and outrageous family in to the story gave it that added entertainment value and what would a Tess Oliver book be without a magnificent ending, the last chapter arrives and you might be holding your breath and praying that it doesn't end on that slightly melancholic and unsettling way that's just played out and then before you know it you're completely finished and sitting with a big silly grin on your face, smiling at your e-reader with a slightly confused husband looking over your shoulder to see what all the fuss was about. Another sexy, sassy and smart book from the woman herself.

Cash Tremaine….his last name should be Trouble because it seems to follow him no matter where he goes.

After Cash left the MC, he has been roaming around trying to find himself. Years of living a hard life of destruction, Cash wants to use his hands for good and see if he can find a place that fits. He has always dreamed of living near the ocean so when a job opportunity comes with a seaside view, Cash jumps on it.

The job is a temporary one but he soon finds many appeals to the small town of Tucker Village, including a sexy independent Esme. Despite knowing that Cash won’t be there long, Cash and Esme are drawn to one another and soon enough are entangled deeply. Just when Cash feels like he can take a deep breath and enjoy a few simple pleasures, trouble drives right into town.

I loved this book. Cash and Esme together are hot, steamy, and sometimes quite hilarious. Cash is very protective over the ones he cares for and Esme is no exception. I laughed; I cried; I swooned. This book can be read as a standalone.

Tess Oliver has another hit in her Barringer Brothers Series and I cannot wait for more. If you don’t fall head over heels in love with Cash, then something is terribly wrong! I thought Gage was my favorite, but now I don’t know which one is! The book was well written, the story kept me glued to my kindle, and the characters….LOVE! If you haven’t started on this series, I highly recommend you 1-click them today.

Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

This book is part of Tess Oliver’s, Barringer Brothers Series. It can be read as a stand-alone but when read in order gives needed insight into Cash the main character. Our main characters are both looking for more from than their lives. Maybe that more is each other!

Esme is a good friend, sister, and daughter. She works hard to take care of those she cares about. Since her mother left, Esme has tried to take care of her father and brothers but it has finally reached the point where she can no longer handle their lifestyle. Sometimes it overwhelms her and she dreams of escaping. When she meets a bad boy biker and he rescues her from a bad situation she feels that maybe he is the one she has been waiting for. Will Cash stay? Is this her chance at a happily ever after ending?

Cash is searching for a place to belong. Somewhere he can fit in and stay a place for a new beginning. He finds himself on the coast in a small fishing village with the prospects of a job. What Cash had not expected was Esme! When he rescues her from an irate shop keeper, he is not prepared for the feelings he has for her. The more he finds out about her the more he wants to know. Is this the place he has been looking for? Can he fit in here or will danger follow him?

Hero: Cash 4.5 stars
Heroine: Esme Drake 4.5 stars
Plot: 4.5 stars
Steam Level: 4.5 stars
Cliffhanger: No
Would I recommend this book: Yes! This is a fantastic read for those that love bad boys that are really, really good. The book is filled with action, mystery and smoking hot sex!

Would I recommend this author: Yes! Once again Tess Oliver delivers a powerful feel good book! If you do not already have her as a must read author, then I highly suggest that you put her on your list!

I really enjoyed Cash's story. It had a little of everything. I was really looking forward to reading his story. I wanted him to have his HEA....and I felt he got it in this book.
And that's why I love Tess's books. I know that I can pick up any of her books and just loose myself in her books. I love that.

This book starts off with Cash on the road. Heading to a place where his next job is going to be. Having been on the road for awhile just roaming around. Running low on funds. His friend sets him up with a job helping out an old friend.
On the way to Tucker's Village and old fishing town he crosses paths with Esme.
Omg... I was laughing when I read how she first met Cash!
All the little pet names they had for each other... Was so funny!!
"Sweetie Pie", "Honey Bunch", "Sugar Peanut", "Lollipop".

I liked Esme. she had a strong personality.... she does what she has to do to get ahead for herself. She doesn't take anyones crap and at the same time she has this big heart. I think Cash came into her life just at the right time.
Esme family was not the best. Her mom took off and is on drugs. Her dad & two brothers were pretty bad too. They got mixed up with some bad people. Putting Esme and Cash in the middle of things. Esme tried to stay out of it...but... her dad and brothers were just in to deep.

I loved how Esme and Cash came together. The sex between them was really hot! I loved how they interacted with each other.

Overall this was a good book! We were able to see a different side of Cash. He truly was done with the club life and wanted to live a different life. He seemed lost in the beginning of the book...but in the end... he found himself and was truly able to let everything go and be truly happy!

I would recommend this book to people & I'm looking forward to read Seth story

I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Tess Oliver has done it again. Delivered an outstanding book that makes me crave more of the Barringer Series. While this one is considered a stand alone I would recommend reading book one in the series so you have some background information first.

Cash is adrift. After almost losing his life because of decissions he made in regards to his MC he is just trying to find a place where he belongs. In his mind he will never find it. He heads to Tucker's Village for a job and hopefully some peace to soothe his weary soul. What he finds is Esme. There's something about her that calls to Cash. And even though he knows he's not good enough for her thats not gonna stop him from claiming her. Even if its only for a little while.

Esme's life hasn't been easy. Her family is a chaotic mess that she can't hold together no matter how hard she tries. Her mother's an addict and her father and brothers are getting themselves more and more caught up in illegal activities. She's determined to make it day by day. She has her sight set on the goal... to get out. When she meets Cash she doesn't know what to think. He looks dangerous but her intuition tells her that this is one man she is totally and completely safe with.

I fell in love with both of these characters instantly. The author wove this tale to the point that you could feel the emotions of both the main characters. I found myself cheering them on to make it work. Cash is a hard man. He doesn't believe in fairytales or happy endings. Especially not for him. Esme is a spitfire with a quick wit and a generous heart.

An amazing addition to this series! Counting down for the next book!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Let me start off by saying I have read ALL the Barringer Brother books and Cash is a character that has appeared in them all. Tess Oliver has done it again with this one. I LOVED Cash and couldn't put it down!! When it was over - I was bummed - I wanted more Cash & Esme!!

I really couldn't wait for Cash to come out. Although he has appeared in all the other books, we didn't really get to know much about Cash other than he was a Bad-Ass, not to be messed with and a great friend to Angel, Richo, and even Luke. I have been intrigued with Cash from the start and was so excited to finally get to meet him.

The book starts with Cash wandering around on his bike, going place to place, trying to find a place to stay for a while. He take a temporary job on the coast (he has ALWAYS wanted to live by the ocean) helping Ben an older man with arthritis so bad, he just hasn't been able to keep up with things. This is where he meets Esme. She is a spitfire & has her own issues she has to deal with (a deadbeat mother who left her family and moved away, a drunk and lazy dad and 2 brothers who are getting messed up with the wrong people).

We get to see the real Cash - the tough guy is really sweet and tenderhearted. The way he cares for and protects Esme and Ben is Awesome! The chemistry between Cash & Esme is off the charts. And I love that there is a lot of romance in this book, but there are a lot of funny moments to - who doesn't like a girl that speaks her mind and says what she wants. I love that!

I am not going to give any more of the story away. As far as I am concerned, this book ended too soon - I wanted more of their story. I think this is my favorite so far!!
