Telling each other their true feelings could destroy the powerful friendship they have forged. But when their haunted past comes back to stalk them once again, love may be the only thing that saves them. Emma Weylin presents Going Under, the powerful new addition to her sexy romance series, Secret Blood.

Kenzie Butler is in love with the man who saved her life eight years ago. Her problem? He’s a Siberian were-tiger with the ability to scent his mate, and she wasn’t it. For years they lived across the hall from each other, helping one another with the aftermath from being tortured in a science experiment gone wrong. With each passing day, she falls more in love with him, even while knowing that one day Tiberius will find his true mate.

Tiberius Petrov leads a shadowed life. Kenzie is the only thing standing between him and the gruesome fate awaiting any shifter who goes rogue. For eight years the sound of her voice, the sweet intoxication of her scent, and the soft feel of her skin have kept him from turning down darker paths. But he’d always believed she could never be his. His nose was supposed to tell him who his perfect mate is, but it lied. He didn’t know if it was possible to develop a mate scent. All he knew was one day Kenzie didn’t smell like his mate, and the next day she did. Even after her scent changed, she kept insisting they were perfect as just friends.

After Kenzie survives a mysterious were-bear attack in her place of work, Tiberius learns the scientists altered more than his state of mind. Just when he thought he could take Kenzie as his mate he discovers he could be the biggest threat to her life.

Kenzie loves Tiberius. Has done for 8 years since they escaped the experiments. But Ty is a Siberian were-tiger and would know his mate's scent. So Kenzie makes do with just good friends. Tiberius has loved Kenzie from afar, for a long time. He wished she was his mate, but his tiger and the man knew she wasn't, she didn't smell like it. Then a year ago, her smell changed. To that of his mate.

It takes an attack on Kenzie by a were-bear for them both to tell each other how they feel. But there are longer lasting and further reaching effects of the experiments on Ty that either of them realise. And Ty could well be a danger to Kenzie.

This is book three in the Secret Blood series, and I have not read one or two. I feel like I should have.I did feel something was missing, some information thats wasn't forth coming in this book, and this feeling is the only reason it gets 4 fangs and not 5.

We have weres - tigers, bears, wolves. We have witches and vampires. There is a mad scientist who is up to....well, I'm not exactly sure what he is up to, something to do with shifter mates, and their DNA!

We have a tortured soul in Ty and a feisty female in Kenzie. But for me, what made the made the book was the wondeful way the sex scenes were written. They aren't as explicit as in usual shifter books, its well written, yes, its super hot, yes but much is left out, making you fill in the blanks. And I loved that. Which is weird for me, cos I do love me some shifter sex!

These shifters are a little different too, in that they have FOUR forms, which I also felt wasn't fully explained. Maybe it was just me, I dunno.

BUT all in all, missing information aside, a very good read. I might go back and read the first tow in the seires at some point too.

This was an ARC that I read of this story.
Going Under is the third installment of the Secret Blood series and I totally loved this book. It was one that I had to force myself to put down at the end of the story.
The two main characters of this story are totally relatable and you fall in love with both of them throughout the story. This was a story of pain and of finding love.
Going Under had the right amount of suspense, action and romance. I also liked that this story had many different types of weres, shifters and other supernatural beings. I loved the way the Emma Weylin made weres and shifters two different species and how she made the distinction between a nightwalker and a vampire. This was a great story and it was one that couldn't be put down till the end.
I found nothing negative about Going Under. I give this story 5 stars and I would recommend the Secret Blood to people who enjoy paranormal romance...

Ty rescued Kenzie when they were both being held captive in a lab and they have been in each other's lives ever since. Ty is a Siberian shifter and has been keeping a secret from Kenzie. For years she has believed that she wasn't his mate, but one day she scented as just that. He has stayed in her life as her best friend, but everything comes out when she is attacked by bear shifters. They both admit their love for each other, but Ty is afraid that he could lose control and hurt her. And there's that whole bear shifter issue that they have to investigate.

I absolutely LOVE Ty and Kenzie together. They just have this chemistry that is sizzling. Then to top it off they have been friends for so many years that they have grown so close. I loved their story.

I give Going Under 4 hearts!
