Outstanding read! Madison really delivered with this novel, and it has definitely made me want read other books by him. He's got a fluid writing style and really is able to find the heart of a story and draw the reader into it. I loved it from the beginning, every page, until the end. Lucas is a perfect hero. He's clever, he's funny, and he's a geek. He's average and normal, and he is just perfect for this story and everything that happens! I love that the action in this story continues on at a high level throughout the novel. We've been thrown into it quite quickly, and we're completely engrossed. As a YA novel, I felt Madison Daniel did a great job with his character development and story. So many times YA authors let things slip because they are writing for a younger audience, but not Daniel. He has this story running like a well oiled machine, it's got strong characters, and a great developed adventure story with technology and an awesome soundtrack! (I mean, seriously, who takes all that time to sync up a book and a soundtrack! It rocked, literally) He wrote a story I would happy give copies to every geek friend I have. I'm 25! I related to this story just as well as a teen would. That's a sign of great writing. I hear there's a sequel in the works, and I'm very excited. If you like technology, music, geeks, video game or a strong story with great characters, you need to read this book. I am mad it took me so long to get through it! It was awesome!

I have been waiting for this story and it was worth every second. I bought it the second I knew it was out and threw everything aside so I could get lost with Max, Sam, and Asia. Took me 20 minutes to absorb it. Once again, Madison Daniel thrills and does not disappoint! Knowing the beginning is the only way to understand the end. Now I'll be awaiting the release of Aftershock. How is it going to end?

This was a good short story kind of creepy though. Things in the dark will take your eyes.....if you like horror and a bit of creepiness pick this up.

I love short stories but I love when they are complete. This one was complete but I did have a question on why Michael was doing what he was doing when he knew it was wrong...that could have used a small back story added into the book.

Other than that little hiccup I enjoyed the story. I will be looking for more books by this author.

When author Madison Daniel sent me the book to review he told me "that he hoped I was ready for this...." - there was no way to prepare myself for the explosion of emotions that was this book! There was NO way to be ready for this book!! I laughed, cried, yelled, screamed, mourned and hated the author more than once while reading this book. I felt like the whole world that I had wrapped myself in with this story and it's characters was ripped apart. I was and still am a bit mad about the whole thing....but I understand what had to happen and why...and the truth is...it made me love Max a bit more!

This story has all of the things a great story needs to make it - it grabs your attention, there are loops, curves, twists and turns that the keep the reader on the very edge of their seat, there is love, loss, choices that hurt and bottom line there is a jaw dropping ending. I love the characters that author Madison Daniel has created in this series and I am sad to see the series end, I feel like I am losing a group of friends. I am still reeling from the events of the story and long after I have finished the book I am still thinking about Max, Asia, Sam, Uncle Frank, Madison and the gang. They became friends, really amazing friends. I love their abilities, their mindset and even though I shouldn't I love their love triangle - it felt so completely real. I could feel their emotions through the pages of the book.

This book has a little something for everyone to enjoy and I know without a doubt that once you start this series that you won't want it to end, It's almost like having a real life adventure through the story, that is how detailed and smooth-flowing the plot is. Add this one and the others to your TBR list, you won't be sorry....perhaps a bit angry when it ends, but never once will you put the book down in disappointment, it is impossible. There is only one thing that the author needs to do next - a spin-off on Madison - Another amazing character that you will fall in love with! Enjoy this one and the others, they are a can't miss, must read!!

I have officially been hooked on Madison Daniel and his books ~ This is the 5th book that I have read by him and each one continues to intrigue me, capture my attention and make me think that it was my favorite. If asked to choose a favorite I wouldn't be able to do it! This book was different from his other books ~ this one was more of a YA, video game, high school feel, but I loved it just as much and I am not even close to this age group anymore...

The characters were fun, well developed and reminded me of the little things in life that used to matter so much but seem so small now. Lucas, Taylor, Ro, & Mo are the best of friends and know each other inside and out. They are also big in the gaming world, and the book starts off with a bang!! Lucas is so close to defeating his enemy....but little does he know that a real enemy is coming that will be harder to defeat!

The plot is fast paced, smooth flowing and a lot of fun! We see relationships develop, bonds created and enemies like we have never seen before. The world is in trouble but with Lucas, Olivia, Sophie and friends on the case what can go wrong?!? Well....enter Felicity or Evilicity as Lucas has named her and a lot can and will go wrong. The story behind the origin of the rock (Is it a rock?!?) was pretty surprising and the way that it jumped into Lucas's mind will surprise you....Pick Me Up....Trust No One Except Olivia....

This book will grab your attention and hold it from start to finish and even after you are done reading you will be wondering what has happened and what will happen next....the cliffhanger that author Madison Daniel leaves us with is no joke...I am ready for the next book now!

This is a fun, quick read and one that readers of all ages can and will enjoy! Make sure that you add this one to your TBR list and do it soon ~ you don't want to miss any of the non-stop roller coaster action!

This was a short story, prequel to the amazing world of Max, Asia and Sam but it packed the emotional punch of any full length novel that I have ever read! I loved (and loathed) learning about the characters and some of the things that made them the people that they became. I enjoyed the additional details of their early lives and to be honest, I needed a dose of them to help with my withdrawal that I am going through since I have read all of the books in the series.

Author Madison Daniel makes the characters come alive and in a great way! This is an emotionally packed book that takes us on the journey with Max and his first love Rachel, which made such a sad story, as well as Asia and how her beauty has always been a curse and the simple joys that Sam finds in life. I loved learning more about the good and the bad for all of the characters. I would love to read more about these characters and hope that the author does write another book about them all later on.

If you loved these characters as much as I did then make sure you read this prequel - you won't be disappointed and you will want to drop everything you are doing to sit down and spend some time with them! Enjoy this short story - it is worth reading once or twice or maybe three times.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange on an honest review. Thank you,Madison!!!

I’m still grinning like an idiot after reading the “A special thank you” list. My name was in there!! My freaking name, Bianca Calin. I’m so honored and excited,I can’t stop smiling. It’s just incredible and totally unexpected!!

Coming to the book, “Bright Eyes” took me by surprise. It’s very dark and scary, very different from “Ember”. The author proved once again that he’s talented and that he can write anything. Love stories, horror stories, fight scenes, everything! And he writes better and better with every book.

I read “Bright Eyes” in just 20 minutes. It’s a quick, captivating and very scary read. Everything is desribed with enough details and you can imagine everything in your head. This is what scared me. Those things were as scary as Hell. But I liked it!

I really need a sequel, because the end left me with a question. What is going on with Michael??!!

In “Bright Eyes”, Madison shows his dark side.So if you read his other books and wanna read something that will show you, again, what an amazing author he is. I recommend this short story to everyone, I loved it!! Buy it, read it, love it!

What a epic ending to this fabulous series. Wow!! This story had so many incredible twist and turns that you will never figure out how it will end. I cried and was in shock with the ending of this story but the way it ended was for epic love like no other. All the new characters in this story makes me believe we will get a spin off series and I can't wait, if we get one. Hint! Hint! The love triangle between Max, Asia and Samantha is the greatest heartfelt triangle ever. The love that you feel between all three is never ending and will be forever. We finally find out who Max choses in this final book. Who does Max pick in the end? This person maybe the only one who has his whole heart until the day he dies. If you haven't read this series or this third book, it is a must read now. I still can only say wow, wow, wow over and over. This is one of my favorite endings of a series. I didn't see that coming at all. This author never disappointed me once during The Ember Series. This is a powerful story that will stay with you for a real long time. Glad to have read this series. I applaud the writing and the storyline.

Seasons in Ash was a great read. I loved reading about Max’s earlier days; his relationship with his sister and his first love Rachel, and why he believed his gift wasn’t a gift at all as everything he loved was eventually destroyed. Asia’s beauty was also a curse. People always judged her by her looks and tried to take advantage of her beauty and youth, Johnny learned that there’s more to Asia besides beauty. Asia controls the earth elements which are tied to her moods and her friend Lucy loves and accepts all of her. We see Samantha’s relationship with Devon and how she met Max. This book gives up glimpses of the main characters in their earlier years and was definitely worth reading if you want more of the characters you will come to love. Every book in the Ember Series is worth reading.

Madison Daniel wears his passion on his sleeve, writes his heart into his words and shares his soul in his music love. He brings all of the senses, all of your emotions, and every dream you have wanted to write down and pours it out into the pages of his books. Truly a passionate artist in every sense of the word.
The story of Max, Asia and Sam are rolling in the thunder again. Max cannot hide from it any longer. He needs to face every fear he has ever had, fight for every person he has ever loved, and choose the everlasting love that will burn on for eternity.
Mads,
Please keep dancing to the music of your soul. May your artistic tongue give you words and inspiration to create harmonic thoughts, words and music in my mind in a perpetual poetic motion.

A wondrous love triangle between Max, Sam, and Asia. The three are high school seniors and all very different. Max has lost so much in the last few years and tries to conceal his growing fire and healing power. The girls, Sam and Asia, are polar opposites. Asia ignites Max's uncontrollable flames and Sam calms his storm. His love for each girl is very different but too real. Add into that teenage angst, bullies, and other life trials leads to a bonfire of emotions. A great read that leaves you m ore than ready for the second book.

I really had no clue how I was going to review this. I had to sit there and think of exactly how I was going to put into words how much I enjoyed reading this thrilling book. I'm not a big on of sci-fi/thriller books but Madison has made me fan! I found myself flipping through the pages, holding my chest in anticipation for the next compelling scene. I couldn't believe how this played out. Vivid imaginations, monsters, other dimensions, music, crushes! So much awesomeness from one amazing book. Mads has once again left me awed by his written work and way with words! Now, on to the next book in this awesome series!

This is the first story that I have read by Madison Daniel and it was very strange. Still not really sure what was going on lol. All I know is there are little "monsters" who steal eyes. What I really want to know is how Michael fits into everything and why he keeps feeding into the creatures when he knows what he is doing is wrong.
I would absolutely carry on with another story in this series. I have too many questions for them to not be answered. I would recommend this novella to readers who enjoy a darker story and aren't afraid of things that go bump in the night.

Wow! This is an amazing introduction - one where emotions run high, and feelings are tested. It helped me understand what each character had previously gone through. Emotionally charged!

I really liked the presentation of this series, with the music soundtrack to go along with each chapter, it brought the scenes to life. #RockingWriteOn

I was completely enthralled in this short story, well written, fast-paced, and twisted at the end. So Cool when the end of any story flips me for an unexpected loop.

Too short, need more

Normally I won't read short stories as I read quickly and they never last long enough. But this one I got because I have loved everything I have read by Madison Daniel and it did not disappoint. And as it is a short story it left me wanting more especially after that epilogue! Way to be left hanging! One can hope there might be more at some point?

Such a haunting little scary story. I wasn't expecting the twist at the end at all. Though short, I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the very end. I love horror of this nature and I am so glad I picked this short story up.
