Bonnie Dee always gives me an interesting read, and this one was no different. The fact that this book had a blind female MC immediately grabbed my attention, and knew I had to give this one a try. I usually don't see the female MCs in M/F being the one with a disability, but this author loves to throw us a curve-ball.

The blurb really tells you a lot of the story. The tension is there from the beginning: We KNOW that J.D. is keeping something from Leah, and it was stressful as hell for me as a reader! I kept getting that feeling in the pit of my stomach because I KNEW that badness was going to go down sooner or later. There is no good way to keep a secret that large from a romantic partner.

I sort of had a love/hate relationship with Leah and J.D. as a couple. I loved their chemistry and the rawness of their passion. It was exciting to read about and hotter than I expected. However, there was also something dysfunctional about them that made me feel uneasy. They were both in such transitional places in their lives and they both had communication issues that made it had for me to fully get behind them as a couple.

I like that Bonnie Dee takes risks in her stories and presents everything in a way that I find really compelling, as a reader. This one was a bit predictable and a bit less engaging as some of her other works, but I still enjoyed it. I'd recommend this for all Bonnie Dee fans as well as fans of relationships that are a bit on the angsty side.

3 - 3.5 Blind Passion Stars

*arc provided per author in exchange for honest review*

This is my first work by Bonnie Dee and it will be out later December for all to enjoy! It was a good first book by this author with a decent love story filled with some angst and just enough heat to keep me tuned in!

This is the love story of Leah Schaeffer and J.D. Wyatt. Two young adults with traumatic pasts that have them wading day to day in life. Leah is doing her best to move forward after losing her vision in an accident. J.D. is home from military tour and still suffers the after effects of the torture he experienced. A chance meeting, just a few simple words and they seem to have found a connection...let me add...BRIEF connection!

They say that fate often has a way of determining one's life...or perhaps it is just being in the right place at the right time...hmmmmmmm Whatever the case, this love story does not start out well as the entire "relationship" is built on a lie. For Leah, she has to rely on her gut instincts to "see" the truth in situations. J.D. is amazing with her, but something just feels off. YES, there is comfort, passion, and a desperate need for him "blinding" her again with emotions...

Is J.D. who he really who he says he is? Is it just one lie? What else is this soldier hiding?

I enjoyed the premise of this story. I found myself rooting hard for Leah to find her independence and to succeed! I also had a soft spot for J.D., the broken soldier who was in desperate need of a long hard life hug! I could easily see their connection in Leah's inherent need for a protector and J.D.'s want to help/be a hero. I admit I'm not a fan of insta-love and I did feel this moved FAST! I also found myself a bit conflicted in that Leah was working so hard for her own life, to stand on her own feet, yet J.D.'s need for her put her off the path of her independence.

Overall, I enjoyed the read. I liked that they have continued issues to work through and that they weren't "perfect." In the end it would seem that Leah's blind passion was what made the story for what it was!

This was a really sweet read and just the story I was looking for. Both of the characters held my interest and I enjoyed getting to know them and their struggles. This author wrote the pain and fear aspects of the story well and it had me captivated.

Overall an enjoyable story that I would recommend. I can't wait to read more from this series!

3.5 When Loving Causes Lies Stars * * * 1/2

This book caused a lot of questions in my head... first as a woman, then as a parent... because both parts of me had to understand and come to terms with ... is lying ever ok? Oh, there are lots of ways we all lie... we lie by not telling everything we are thinking to one another... classifying it as a white lie...... and then the other type of lying by omission...when we know we should inform and share... but withhold. Then there are just the out and out stuff which is blatant and in your face type of lying...

This book covers all of it... yet what this book has is the underlying reason of why they are lying or withholding is due to loving them... Our main character is newly blind.... she had a young life... kick'in along... going to be a graphic artist and in a fraction of a second... all is taken from her... she loses her sight. She goes through all the stages of mourning her loss... she recovers as best she can and does all the work. She goes to blind training school; learns braille and how to count her steps and become independent as best she can. She comes from a family which loves and adores her... luckily money is no issue at all. She even has her own trust fund giving her the ability to confront her parents when she wants to move out and start her life over.

The parents are concerned... She is a young adult who is smart and wants independence... they get it... but Chicago is not Mayberry RFD... it is a cold tough city and they are very concerned about her safety out there... on her own... blind. They offer her an apartment rent free in a building they own and pay for her college... she turns them down because she doesn't want them to have so much control in her life. A compromise is reached... she picks the place, they pay for school and she makes sure to have a sight worker come to help her get the lay of the land.

She celebrates with her best friend at a bar and during this experience she crosses paths with a man... someone who she has a very short interaction with...yet it was enough to leave an impact... to rev her sexual engine which had been dormant...it was only a short interaction... but it was enough for dreaming....

Her parents and friend move her into her studio apt. and things are coming together. Just before the parents leave, her neighbor from across the hall comes out and interacts with everyone. The parents say hello... checking him out... she says hi and feels like he might be alright... not threatening or anything... and that is that..... or is it?

He is ex military suffering from PTSD and a little lost...He has no idea of really how he is going to make his way in this new life...he dabbles in bartending at his brother place with underground cage fighting as his release. He was tired of sleeping on his brother's couch so he listed himself with a security company. A recent assignment came up providing the free apt. All he has to do is shadow the client... not let them know he is there as it is needed for their safety. Piece of cake. Not.... as it turns out it is our gal at the bar...and he was struck just as hard as she was in those few moments together.

When the parents see him and interact... they pretend not to know him... when he see her... he doesn't share he was the guy at the bar... she feels comfortable with him, for some reason... and they start to have a "friendship". At some point all of this is going to explode just like the land mine which killed all of his mates...

These two become friends and then lovers... it is sweet, yet hot. The sweet was how both of them were coming back from loss of some kind and reaching for each other.

So... back to the questions I had running through my head while reading this... There was so much deception, trust became a huge factor... yet also where does letting go of pride and accepting some help step in, too?
There were compromises discussed and loving wishes from the parents put out there... and yes, independence is key... but I felt maybe there could have been a compromise not causing all the deception in the first place... But that is just me... the parent talking - the older wiser me...

I think the author did an excellent job of portraying the loss of sight and all of the challenges there are in recovery and moving forward. It made me stop reading and really think about it.

The book read fast; laid the ground work for the brother to have his story told. I am sure it will be just as engaging as this was...the brother had a really sick sense of humor and the one liners were hysterical.

Blind Passion started off good for me, the blurb caught my interest and I have read a couple Bonnie Dee books before and enjoyed them.

Leah Schaeffer was blinded in a drunk driving car accident and is still coming to terms with the loss of her sight and the dream of pursuing a career in photography and design.

J.D. Wyatt is back from war, suffering with PTSD and trying to integrate back into civilian life.

They meet in a club and soon discover they are neighbours, but it's quickly apparent that their meeting is not coincidental.

I didn't really feel much chemistry between Leah and J.D, and it felt like Leah was just desperate to have a boyfriend and went with the first guy who showed an interest. It was a bit cheesy for me and they settled into a regular relationship too quickly for my liking. I found it a tad on the boring side.

If you like a nice sweet romance, then this probably is for you - it's not long so great for a quick afternoon read. The writing, as always, was great I just felt like it was missing that spark I usually find in a Bonnie Dee novel.

Blind Passion is a good, sweet love story between two characters: Leah, a young woman who lost her sight in a fatal car accident and a wounded veteran who struggled with his issues. It is a nice pick if you are in the mood for likable characters and light drama:/

Like New Life, and Bone Deep, the author did a great job of fleshing out unique characters and giving both LCs genuine voices without melodrama. I really liked Leah and J.D. so the insta-love plot in this short-length novel didn’t bother me much. The blurb described exactly what the story’s about. I appreciate the author kept the dialogue straightforward and crafted her storyline without using any gimmick/shocking twist. I only wished the story had been much longer. The next installment will star Gina, the caretaker for Leah, and Micah, J.D.’s brother. I hope Leah and J.D. will play secondary roles in book 2.

It was a quick, short read. I would recommend.

☆ I received an ARC via Author's HQ in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆

Blind Passion was a fast, light, and very sweet read with some cheesy dialogue and banters. I was initially attracted to the whole prognosis of a young woman who’d lost her sight in a tragic accident and a haunted war veteran trying to sort out himself, but it turned to be more poignantly about two broken souls just trying to make it in their world on their own terms. Sounds pretty relatable to just about everyone else, right?

Another thing I'd like to mention in this, is that while reading it-- Taylor Swift’s and Ed Sheeran’s song, "Everything Has Changed," had just kept popping into my mind as the book's song anthem. These characters don't meet while they're young like in the music video, but, I felt that lyrically-wise it sort of correlated a bit.

I mean, they meet twice--- once at a bar and the second time under false pretenses on JD’s part...and the sparks immediately fly...

description

JD and Leah then develop a close kinsmanship and friendship that eventually leads to love. And for both of them, it’s like a long time coming home.

description

description

But then life happens ++ JD’s secret is finally revealed.

And now

description

What will become of these two unlikely lovers? Will their pasts and hindrances keep them from moving forward and pursuing the realest thing that has ever come into their lives? Or will they succumb to their fears and doubts? Get ready to be “blinded by passion” ladies and gents! Can't wait for the next bk2 on the next Wyatt brother!!

I liked the blurb, but I didn't feel the chemistry between the main characters. I felt that Leah over reacted when JD tells her he met her before. It just fell flat for me.

ARC REVIEW

This an easy read. The characters are likeable and relatable. Leah lost her vision in a drunk driving accident and she is struggling to be independent from a very protective family. J.D. Wyatt is a returning war veteran with PTSD. He is self-medicating and has just starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Her family hires him to watch over as a bodyguard without her knowledge. J.D. has had trouble focusing since leaving the military. This assignment gives him a purpose and drives him.

I felt compassion for both characters. We get insight into someone recently blinded. There are so many minor and major obstacles to overcome. With J.D. story, we get to experience a man who is dealing with this mental health issue. I felt Leah’s frustration at not being able to read J.D.’s body language to determine whether he was being true with her or not. I felt J.D.’s betrayal keenly. There are also a few funny moments that had me snickering, like the snake in the underground caves comment. And yet, overall, this story in this book is a little thin. The major conflict is perhaps not so major. The resolution is too predictable. It's not complicated, but still enjoyable.

IN A NUTSHELL:
Despite my criticism, there is definitely room for these types of simple, traditional tropes.

Small twists in life led to completely different paths

Awww man, I like the secondary characters better than the main, I'm so doomed anyway I like the story, its simple. Both characters have their own traumas, J.D. with his PTSD and Leah with her blind vision(although she's coping amazingly here and there only a few bouts of insecurity and frustration due to her blindness)
as being her secret bodyguard, JD broke the rule in his job and made personal contact as he was clearly smitten to Leah, unbeknownst to Leah that he was her bodyguard and not just her friendly neighbor and lover. As they became closer together JD has the gnawing feeling that when the truth comes out both of them will suffer the consequences.

I only have little connection between this two, I think because it's a short story and has little development to squeeze between the pages, actually I'm more interested about Micah, JD's brother, because he has an uncanny humor of throwing cheesy pick up lines and its hilarious but I'm sure he's battling his own demons as well.

So sad about J.D. battling his PTSD, he's still coping through it. But even so I think he and Leah are okay together, I like Leah because she doesn't crumble much to her disability. Actually J.D. is such a sweet good man who do cage fighting aye! , he just only lied to Leah so not quite good hehe:P

I'm excited about Micah and Gina's story! Can't wait.

This was super cute.

Blind Passion is a strangers to lovers kind of book. Some could say he was sort of paid to be with her.. but not to be like with her with her. In it, you will meet Leah and J.D. Leah is blind and wants to move out of her parents house. She wants to be independent and thinks she can do it all on her own. Of course, they don't see it that way and they want her to have help or ya know - to still live with them. She is their baby girl after all.

Luckily for her, they finally agree to it. She does have someone come by and help her with things and get used to the lay of the land. Then she ends up meeting a super cute guy (well she thinks he's cute - he does have a super hot voice though). He ends up being her next door neighbor - color me shocked guys!

This book definitely had it's betrayal and drama. She finds out that he's actually paid to be her bodyguard for when she goes into the world by herself. He starts to fall for her.. and it does get a bit awkward when they hook up and her parents come over. These two, Leah and J.D., both have suffered in the past. So they worked really well with one another and it was sort of a great experience for them to have each other in their lives.

It took some time, but they eventually worked things out. Honestly, they were really good for each other and I was hoping that they would end up happily together. Thankfully, they did and I'm super pumped to dive into the next book of this series.

I don't often read books with an MC who is physically challenged, in this instance the MC h was blinded by an accident with a drunk driver. It seemed to be dealt with well, but I admit, I don't know much about the challenges in the life of someone who is blind, so I don't know how on-point it is. It didn't seem too OTT, Leah wanted to be on her own and independent, was trying to find her way in the world re: school and career, which someone of her age would be doing naturally and she was still interested in having a relationship, she wasn't less than human because of her physical challenge, she was still 100% human with the needs, thoughts and fears of anyone else. I feel that was gotten across very well.

I was upset with her parents, but could understand why they felt so over-protective of their only child after almost losing her to a car accident. It doesn't excuse what they did, nor does the need for a job excuse JD for what he did, but it does make sense. I can't IMAGINE how I would feel if I was a parent and that happened to my only child. I think I would have been worse then them honestly.

There were somethings in this book that were a tad OTT, like the Fight Club and then the fire, but the human-ness of the characters felt real, so that worked for me.

I guess I don't read enough romances, because I felt the romance worked, but I am not a romance book expert, so YMMV.

I am interested in reading about Gina's romance in the next book. I was already sold on this book, when I got to the excerpt of the second and immediately called up my Boss to see if we could get the next one in. The only negative to the next book is the H, he is a bit of a criminal and it seems that the "love of a good woman" is going to help him want to change to be a better him. Not really keen on the idea that love and another person can make someone want to change and do so.

That was a theme in this book too, where the h had dropped the H because he lied, big-time, and he just spiraled out of control, but her coming back to him had him getting back to better. That's dangerous thinking and wish-fulfillment. No one can change another person and no one should be the sole thing keeping someone else's head above water. That's incredibly not healthy and a huge burden to place on someone else. It's not fair to the "fixer" and it's not fair to the person being fixed either. They need to want to change on their own and while they can get help from someone else and lean on them, that shouldn't be the only thing keeping them afloat the entire time.

Not a bad book, I did enjoy it and look into the other books in the series, but after reading the synopsis of the other two books, I won't be picking them up myself. Recommended for my store, as we have romance readers who I think will enjoy this, just not for me. If you like morally gray H and for an MC who is physically challenged, dealt with in a realistic way, try this one out.

3 solid stars.

I was prepared to hate this novel. It made me furious, but funnily enough not because of the portrayal of blindness, which overall wasn't horrible.

The blurb basically covers the plot of the novel. Leah went blind in an accident, she wants to move out, her over protective parents want to stop her, she moves out and meets a guy. They start a relationship, but he's hiding something from her.

The portrayal of Leah and her adjustment to blindness felt pretty real. She's still a woman in her early 20s. She thinks about sex, she wants relationships or at least to hook up. She lost friends after her accident, but she still has a loyal best friend and they go to clubs and drink. But Leah also worries about dating and how people will view her. On top of that she has concerns about her career and what that might look like now she's blind. I liked this, because although Leah is dealing with some heavy stuff she recognises that she is still a person, and she deserves a life. A big part of that is her desire to move out from her parents house and have her own space.

Her parents resist this, and honestly |I wanted to punch them. Their lack of belief in Leah causes pretty much all of the problems in this novel. They go behind her back and insist that they know best what she needs. I understand that for many parents, watching their child move out is hard, and even harder when that child is disabled. But the way they treated her made me want to scream.

“Leah, this is our decision—a safe environment and someone to help you. That’s it.”
I hated them, actually hated them. Because it isn't their decision, it shouldn't be. Leah is an adult woman and has the right to make her own choices. The worst thing about all of this though is that I could believe it. I believe that there are parents out there who do this to their now adult blind children, I believe it because I've seen it happen. Maybe I was just a bit triggered by all of it, for want of a better word. I hated her parents so much by the end of the book for so many reasons, and I couldn't forgive them for what they did. Leah deserves better than them.

What I did like was that Leah recognised that this wasn't acceptable. She felt out of control, because she knew her parents did have the power to make these choices, but that didn't mean she liked it or thought it was acceptable in any way. She did waver because she loved her parents, and sometimes her love for them made her accept treatment that upset her. And I could believe that too, sometimes we let our family treat us in a way that isn't ok because we love them. It doesn't make it right, but it happens.

This isn't to say the novel was perfect. There were aspects of the blindness that weren't handled well. Leah still did a lot of counting steps, which as I've mentioned in other reviews is not something that anyone who's adapted to blindness would do, because stride length is unreliable. Given that she's gone through adjustment to blindness training, this was frustrating to see as it felt like it was an area the author hadn't researched well. She even says that counting steps was something she'd been taught in training and I was internally screaming, because this is not something we teach (I have experience teaching this stuff). So that was pretty frustrating, because I felt like the author had obviously done some research, but then replaced bits of it to fit her narrative, which made for a less realistic portrayal of blindness.

I also found it weird that her parents hired an aid for her. Not weird in that it felt on brand for her ridiculous parents, but weird because that kind of home care person actually couldn't teach a blind person routes. It would have made more sense to hire an orientation and mobility instructor, seeing as that's their job. So I found that detail a little frustrating. But at least Leah was learning this stuff so she could travel using a cane, actually seeing a blind person in a book going through this process was really nice because so often it's ignored. It was also baffling that this lady came to class with her, because that's something a college would provide. Like, this stuff exists already, there was no need for her parents to hire someone, they'd have been better off getting her to access state services where the person is actually qualified to teach a blind person. It was just weird.

The relationship aspect of the novel was fine I guess, if it hadn't been for the creepiness of JD lying to Leah the whole time. I didn't really feel like it was that original, and I found Leah and JD ok, but not particularly interesting. Their instant attraction was a bit annoying but whatever. The major problem was that

Two stars for Leah and her adjustment to blindness and for Gina telling Leah to not trust the guy. But that's it. The toxic relationship and absolutely awful family would have made this a one star, but I had to give the author some credit for writing a blind character that was actually interesting.

As a disabled person I'm drawn to stories that depict the trials and tribulations of our lives in a vivid and believable way. Ms. Dee has quickly become my go-to author in meeting my needs as many of her title deals with disabilities. In this series starter a young woman recently blinded in a car accident is struggling to make it on her own, getting out from under the protection of her parents while dealing with her own insecurities and fears in an easily relatable. With her parents still scared for her safety though they unbeknownst to her hire a sexy Southerner just returned from the war and just as lost and scared of the future as she is. As next door neighbors become friends and slowly morph into more will the truth about their meeting blind her even further to a love she once thought she'd never have or will she accept the confidence and support he's brought to her life?

This is a book full of emotional upheaval. Just when Leah and JD look to be heading towards HEA painful truths come between them. If JD had been honest from the start, as he wanted to be, things would have gone much smoother for them. JD was an honorable man from the very start. He saw a lot of death and was held prisoner while in the military and it's left him with lots of issues of his own. Survivor's guilt and PTSD haunt him and keep him from moving forward. Being with Leah gave him purpose and a desire to be better. It's was heartbreaking seeing how far he fell when they were apart with his pain palpable. I felt sympathetic towards him and adored him too for all his charm and sweet nature despite all the ugliness in his past.

Leah came from a family of weath and despite her blindness had it pretty easy. Most disabled people couldn't afford all the help she got which made her appear a bit out of touch with reality. She seemed a bit naive too about the darkness of war and a children of alcoholics as her family was idyllic. While I admired her wanting to live on her own her path to independence was made very easy courtesy of her parents. I also felt she was too hard on JD after all he'd done for and meant to her, giving an impression of superiority. While I didn't love everything about her I found her difficulties and concerns with getting around realistic and vividly detailed as to give readers insight into a world they never knew of.

Along with these two emotionally bruised main characters came the engaging Gina and Micah. Gina was the outspoken aide to Leah who's been unlucky in love. She's a tell-it-like-it-is gal and I enjoyed her scenes as she brought great energy to every scene she was in and I look forward to her taking center stage in the next story. JD's brother Micah brought much needed humor to this story and his pick-up lines did just that. He's a player with a hidden heart of gold. His father's alcoholism left him with abandonment issues reflected in his numerous one-night stands which are just hinted at and I'm greatly anticipating the merry chase Gina will lead him on. These are strong characters who easily took over the scenes they were in and will make great lead characters.

This was an emotionally intense and sensual story of two very different people brought together through their painful pasts. Their relationship was rocky but richly rewarding. I adored JD and found him a great book boyfriend but was frustrated by Leah's naïveté even as I admired her finally living life on her own even as she had a support system that all of us dream of. This was an immensely satisfying series starter and I look forward to Micah's story being the next installment in the Wyatt Brothers series!

I believe this is the first M/F I’ve read by Bonnie Dee and it was quite enjoyable.

After an accident leaves Leah blind and dependent on her parents, she has decided it’s time for her to move out and live on her own while finishing her college degree. Over concerned for their daughter, Leah’s parents hire J.D., a part time security guard and war veteran, to secretly follow Leah and keep her safe. J.D. needs the money and the focus, but when he discovers whom he will be protecting, he’s determined to get to know her better. The problem: Leah can’t know J.D. is spying on her…so how can they ever have a true relationship with all these secrets between them? Not to mention that J.D. isn’t supposed to be having any kind of relationship with Leah in the first place!

What I really found interesting about this book was that it is told in alternating first person POV from both characters. I really liked J.D.’s voice…I think because I understood his difficulties. But Leah’s voice quickly got annoying: too whiny and it didn’t take long before I was exhausted with her poor-me-pity-party. Also, I had trouble connecting with a 22-year-old heroine.

I really liked the emotional aspects of this story. Leah is fighting for her independence but still struggling with all the new insecurities that had resulted from her blindness. J.D. has no direction in his life since leaving the military: no steady job and his PTSD and anxiety issues keep him reaching for his medication…and occasionally a bottle of alcohol. There was a lot of growth for both characters, but I didn’t like how their big disagreement was immediately solved after a near death experience.

I lot of the story was easy to predict, but the moment when J.D. slipped up…well, I NEVER saw that coming! I liked how that was handled and both characters’ responses were believable.

I did like the intensity of the ending! Well, aside from the easy forgiveness, but it’s a nice HEA.

Looking forward to Micah and Gina's story in Dangerous Passion. THAT will be an interesting pair!

**JOSIE'S REVIEW**

Blind Passion by Bonnie Dee was an intense read. The author does a great job with the plot and everything flowed well. I loved how the author gave us two characters that are each dealing with major issues and trying to find a way to live their lives. I really felt a connection for both Leah and J.D. The read is fast paced and deals with some subject matter that at times were hard to handle.

Leah Schaeffer is blind after being involved in a car accident driven by a drunk driver. She is having a hard time dealing with her sudden blindness and the sudden limitations it involves. She is strong and focused but because of what happened she is no longer able to pursue life design and photography.

J.D. Wyatt is dealing with PTSD and the torture he experienced after returning from a tour of duty. My heart broke for J.D. I really felt his pain and suffering and to some extent I related to what he was going through. He is struggling to fit into civilian life and is having a hard time dealing with the past. Fate will put Leah and J.D. together and this is where the two will forever have a connection.

Their relationship is not an instant one and is built on a secret. Leah has to rely on her instincts when dealing with J.D. and their relationship. I love how J.D. is caring and understanding with her. I could tell that things were just too perfect between them. I felt J.D’s desperation to be there for Leah and consuming her every emotions and needs.

I loved how the author showed how comfortable and how much need they had for each other, but I just knew when the truth came out things would eventually come crashing down. The author does an amazing job with the topic of PTSD and blindness. This is a sweet, hot and loving story that deals with lies, secrets and trust issues. This is the first in the series and I’m looking forward to reading the next one. I can’t wait to see what J.D.’s brothers book will be like.

What I liked
1. Gina
2. Micah and his pick up lines
3. Tapping into Leah's emotions over her disability
4. When Leah and J.D. had their one-on-one moments (not the make out scenes.)
5. When J.D. would describe the world to Leah

Leah wants to be on her own and be independent, so she fights for her rights with her parents. She doesn't know what comes with those rights. Until J.D. comes into her life.

J.D. and Leah meet once, briefly, and she doesn't know it. The next time they meet there's secrecy and that becomes the elephant in the room at some point.

J.D. has demons to face, and beat, as Leah has to fight to become independent, and prove she can stand on her own two feet, despite her vision impairment.

I really felt the strong emotions when we lived them through Leah when they would get the best of her over her blindness and I wanted more of that and her showing how strong she could be. I did struggle to connect with the characters and their fast connection, and I felt like big parts of the story were glossed over. I would have liked the couple to have more deeper one on one connection time.

Over all, I did mostly enjoy it, though they were a little too "horny" for me.

This was a cute story. I mainly picked it up because the main character was struggling with blindness and I've never read from a perspective of a blind person before. Plus the love interest is an ex millitary man and I do love those.

As far as the story in general goes it was cute and sweet. Nothing special but then again I didn't expect it to be. It became pretty obvious right from the beginning what the conflict would be.

Like I've mentioned I was intrigued by the blindness factor. It really made me think about how routine, everyday things become so much more difficult when losing one of your senses. I loved that glimpse into a dayly of a person without sight, how.much They have to relly on their other senses and memory. I just wish it was elaborated some more on certain aspects of the main character's life.

Blind as a bat. Flying blind. Turn a blind eye. Blinded by science. Blind date. Blind alley. Blind leading the blind. Robbed blind. No one as blind as he who will not see. Fucking B-L-I-N-D. That’s me....

This was an enjoyable read. Leah and J.D. were good for each other. Since they both were dealing with some things. Of course when Leah found out the truth she was upset. Thankfully she came to her senses.

Leah and J.D; one is literally blind the other is wishing he could un-see the things he saw while serving his country.

While I liked the story itself, I have to be honest here and say I didn't feel the connection between the two MC's at all. I don't mind almost Insta-love/lust if it suits the story, I just didn't buy it in this instance. It all just happened a little too fast.

Maybe it was because Leah was blind, and although we got to experience her emotions, we didn't get to see JD through her eyes... I'm not sure. But, the hero is usually the star of the story for me, and in this case, as far as a stand out character goes, he was pretty mediocre. He was a good guy, he was struggling with his own problems... And he was a good match for her but....

There was a lie by omission on JD's part not long after they met, and Leah's reaction over it was pretty intense. Knowing that that was only a small fraction of what was being withheld from her knowledge kinda dampened the book for me. From there on out everything about their relationship just felt off and I found myself thinking that if that was how she reacted to 'that' .... I can't see how she'll get over the rest...

I did love the injection of drama towards the end, if anything was going to push them back together, that would have achieved it. So nice going by the author for coming up with something that was believable.

What I did love about this story was the heroine's strength, confidence and ability to make a light of a situation. Though blind, she wasn't chronically depressed. She always tried to look on the bright side of things. She knew she was a catch and was confident in herself and her abilities despite everyone trying to protect her from the world.

It was a good story and it was refreshing to read something different, I just wish I had felt more of a connection between JD and Leah.

What I am looking forward to, is Micah and Leah! I loved those two!

I started out really enjoying this book, with Leah determined to live her life with her new disability. I liked that the author didn't give an overabundance of information regarding Leah learning to cope with being blind and everything that she had to learn how to do without sight.

It was harder to get a read on J.D., we really didn't learn much about him since he's pretty closed off. I would have liked to learn a bit more about him, other than the issues he has with abandonment, as well as the little bit he divulges about his military service.

As far as pinpointing where the story began to lose me was probably close to the end, when Leah learns the truth about J.D. I can even understand why her parents did what they did, although I don't necessarily agree with it. Of course she had every right to be as angry as she was, both with her parents and J.D., but it seemed like she was way to quick to make up and forgive him. It was almost like she was desperate to have a boyfriend.

Always looking for something different and a blind heroine fits the bill. I generally like Bonnie Dee. But this one was just so so for me. Felt like the story really didn't have any meat to it. The reason they took a break the first time was kind of silly. Then they were in love! Then she found out he'd been hire to guard her unbeknownst to her. So yeah that was a good reason for a break up but since we were totally expecting it, there was no great shock to it. It was pretty much the only conflict and since it was so predictable it wasn't much fun to read. Tried the second one and couldn't even get into it. Hmm...

Leah Schaeffer was blinded in a drunk driving car accident and is still coming to terms with the loss of her sight and the dream of pursuing a career in photography and design. J.D. Wyatt is back from war, suffering with PTSD and trying to integrate back into civilian life.

They meet in a club and soon discover they are neighbors, but it's quickly apparent that their meeting is not coincidental. Leah's parents hired J.D. to be Leah's bodyguard to protect her from the bad things on the street. Leah is trying to find her independence with her situation. Her parents are overbearing in protecting her.

J.D. cannot help himself he falls for Leah. This was a cute sweet romance. They both have issues from their situations but find each other to help each other grow.

Our heroine lost her eyesight in an accident a couple of years ago and she decides to move from home so she can learn to cope without her parents hovering. Our hero is a returned war vet with PTSD that has been drifting from job to job. Their apartments are opposite each other and this is the story of how they meet and cope. A really lovely slow burn romance, well written with some tasteful, steamy sex scenes. This book is very dramatic and real feeling. I enjoyed it. 3.5 stars.

I read the book somewhere in September October and I have no idea why I had not added it until now.
I sort of liked the story but given since it's been a while that I read it I'm not rating it. Maybe in the future once I read it again I'll rate it.
So ya it was worth rereading.
I came across this book when I was trying to find a blind heroine in erotica genre. Looks like we don't have much in that category. (Btw if you know any, let me know)
In overall from what I remember it was an okayish book.

Both of them have their own personal issues, baggage, and a whole lot of past to deal with. Leah started from scratch since the first day she realized there would be no way she would gain her sight once again. But she had made a long way since then. She was ready to live alone, now if she can only convince her parents.

After series of talks and pleads, she finally gained their approval, and on her first day, she met her new neighbor with a voice that made her world not the same again.

J.D. Wyatt had served the military, and now, he was on his own and is struggling financially and emotionally. When Leah's parents hired him to be her sort-of-bodyguard without the former knowing, he took the opportunity. But the more time he spent with her, the more they get closer, and the secret was just too much to bear. He was lying by omission, and lying nonetheless

He wasn't good enough for her, and she wouldn't let herself be a 'burden' for him. Tough issues to deal with, not to mention all those secrets that J.D. is keeping from Leah. Will their love be enough?

These were REAL frustrations coming off Leah, real emotions, real doubts of a person who had lost her sight. So I completely understand her, and where she's coming from, or at least I try. Her issues with honesty as well. Who would like being lied to? Certainly not me. It was understandable, why she decided to put a space between her and J.D. As for J.D., I think he needed to heal himself first before he decided to jump into a relationship. He has some serious issues he needed to work on.

Nevertheless, there were two secondary characters which caught my attention and will be featured in the next book of the series. They had me laughing and grinning the first time they met, and I couldn't wait for their turn.

Blind Passion is a short, nice read. It has enough drama, enough steam and just enough romance to keep you glued to your readers. I like that it ended with a happy-ever-after and with some issues still needed for the couple to work on to.
